BasKerplunCase Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 As far as I know the only album demos we have are the Dookie Demos, link the 5th one down from the top. http://www.greendaycommunity.org/Forum/index.php?showtopic=41602 There was a demo for 21st Century Breakdown (the song) floating around last year, but it wasn't supposed to be, so honestly, I don't know where you'll find it. EDIT: Hmmm, I went looking for it myself, and I can't find it. With my shitty memory, I actually can't remember if the 21CB demo was an actual song or just the lyrics now, lol. The Dookie Demo's aren't working. :/
StevieT Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 why have they not taken the lcd backdrop with them to south america?
lizziebix Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 why have they not taken the lcd backdrop with them to south america? It was probably too expensive to ship down there.
gusgd Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 why have they not taken the lcd backdrop with them to south america? But they used the LCD screens in São Paulo...
Eirik Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Yeah, probably the cost. They didn't bring it to Australia/Asia either, I seem to recall.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Yep, I think that's the reason. They didn't have the LCD thing either in New Zealand and Asia (or maybe only a part of Asia... not sure) last year, and they also don't use it at festivals.
StevieT Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 It was probably too expensive to ship down there. They brought it to wembley in uk and im sure thats a longer distance correct me if im wronge lol. And ty for ur answer.
BasKerplunCase Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 I'm trying to chalenge greenday to come to my homtiwn If I get a serten amount of folowers on Twitter! Wat does everyone think? God, are you seriously THAT stupid?
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 They brought it to wembley in uk and im sure thats a longer distance correct me if im wronge lol. And ty for ur answer. Yeah, but that was for the entire European tour, which is more shows than the South American tour. They didn't bring it just for Wembley.
Katarina. Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 God, are you seriously THAT stupid? (I think) It's a troll. You know how they are.. Or that user is very confused and needs to get used to the forum. I highly doubt it's the latter.
StevieT Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Yeah, but that was for the entire European tour, which is more shows than the South American tour. They didn't bring it just for Wembley. Yh thanks for the good answer (i was just using wembley as an example btw)
oda Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 God, are you seriously THAT stupid? Yeah we had some trollin' going on a few days ago.
YehItsRyan Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Has mike gone back to using Gibson basses for some songs on the final part of the tour as I do recall seeing some pics of him from an American show around August/September using the Grabber?
StevieT Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Have green day ever been in trouble for using the same chords as wonderwall in bolovard of broken dreams?
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 ^ I don't think they have. There are only so many chords, so it's inevitable that there's gonna be songs with the same chords. Yh thanks for the good answer (i was just using wembley as an example btw) Ohh, okay.
Nele Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Have green day ever been in trouble for using the same chords as wonderwall in bolovard of broken dreams? Nah, there's no law against using the same chords as someone else did before.
ParadoxAndPlaid Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 They brought it to wembley in uk and im sure thats a longer distance correct me if im wronge lol. And ty for ur answer. The way I see it; it's not really about cost, it's aesthetics. They're at the end of a huge tour, they probably wanted to wind things down and have a more relaxed vibe. Nah, there's no law against using the same chords as someone else did before. This. Actually I've read that some people have done the math, and every chord combination ever possible has been played in some song or another by now. So it's really impossible NOT to use the same chords as someone.
Hermione Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 I have 2 questions. What is Billie screaming at the end of Blood, Sex, and Booze? xD Apparently it's "I'll show you a real time!". That's what everyone says it is and a lot of lyric sites say it. And it seems to sound right, it fits if you listen to it. I'm not entirely convinced though because it's a bit of a strange way of phrasing it. "I'll show you a good time" is a well known phrase but "I'll show you a real time" is a bit weird. But then again plenty of lines in Blood Sex and Booze and other Green Day songs are phrased in a weird way , so it probably is right. Unless the band decides to tell us one day that's the best answer we have, so I'll go with it.
*withoutadoubt* Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 The Dookie Demo's aren't working. :/ Post in here, and the Wonderful Powers That Be will fix the link for you. http://www.greendaycommunity.org/Forum/index.php?showtopic=41191
EvanAsFuck Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Has mike gone back to using Gibson basses for some songs on the final part of the tour as I do recall seeing some pics of him from an American show around August/September using the Grabber? I'm pretty sure he just brought it out for some select shows, you never really know... (Mike shall do what Mike shall want) He used it for the show I went to in Montreal, but he still very mainly uses his Fender P-Basses

Haha, yeah, that sounds about right. xD I always thought it was "I'll show you real power", which is pretty creepy. So I'm opting for the less creepy possibility. Thank you! Bab's Uvula Who is an anagram of "who luvs u baba", which is something from a Saturday Night Live sketch. I have no idea what it's got to do with the song, though Oh yeah! That's what I thought. I remember asking my mom if she knew what "Who luvs you baba" was from, and she thought it was hilarious that Green Day used it. xD Thanks for reminding me.
Liam Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 With the Dookie Demo tapes, I know the first one (the one with the Walkin Then Dog cover) was used to shop around but what was the 2nd one for?
November's Storms Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Why did they name the album Nimrod? I know the reasons behind every other album name but even for GD Nimrod seems a bit random
Moffie Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Nah, there's no law against using the same chords as someone else did before. Pretty much. And c'mon; it's Liam Gallagher. That guy's just an ass when it comes to a lot of things.
