But it does read the audio cd I don't know, it has always worked for me. I put the DVD in my laptop, and play it with VLC media player. It works fine like that.

I mean, I've put both in my laptop and it works fine; I play the movie in either Windows Media Player or Windows Media Center and the live album in iTunes. It might depend on what kind of computer you have and what programs are on it.
