The Platypus! Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 That's lowered my opinion of them now , they have sung it all over the world but they decided to record it England because it was their biggest show ever, what a dick. sorry but I get so protective over Green Day.
Smbcf Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 I just heard on the podcast that one of the members of The Killers (can't remember his name) dissed Green Day can someone tell me when then was or even find a video ? It was Brandon Flowers, back in 2006, he thought they were being anti-American. I don't think there's a video but there's an article here. I guess that's the incident they're talking about anyway, he hasn't dissed them again since, I don't think. Edit: Oops too slow!

He missed the concept. BIAB's major goal wasn't to send a message of punk and all that; that was their biggest gig ever (that was replaced by this year's Wembley.) The Killers are kinda weird. I don't like them and Brandon looks like a bum in this interview.

Mommy's Little Nightmare Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 I met someone who is a massive Green Day fan and Killers fan at the meet and greet the day the album came out last year. She's met Brandon Flowers. Apparently, she said something to him about his comment about Green Day, and he said something to the extent of how he wasn't trying to offend anyone- he just didn't understand why they would have done that, but he respects them and their music. So... I don't know.
Anja Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 So HLAHG was played to a few select people in a theatre, like, 5 years ago. Does anyone know how they picked those people? Were they just random lucky members of idiot Club? 1 1/2 years ago And it started by being a competition only for Idiot Club members but a little later, someone put it up on Green Days official website so the competition was open to everyone. And you didn't necessarly have to be 18 (I have seen little kids there and I remember Amy bringing her little brother as well) and it also didn't really matter where you're from. You just had to be in L.A. that day (hence the competition John had for those to traveled the farthest ) I've got a question as well: does anyone know in what video GD did that go-kart race back in the AI era?

Or something along those lines.
Maura99 Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 I already asked this in the "Hitchin A Ride"-thread; but that wasn't actually the right place for it, so I thought I might ask it here again. My question is, what does Billie sing in The Grouch? In the middle part, right after "I had a young and optimistic point of view". " 'Till then I go 'ooo' " / " So I go 'ooo" ?!? That's what I keep singing. I'm curious to know what it really is.

Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Pretty sure it's 'wasted youth and a fistful of ideals' That's before, haha. Unless it's also that after what I hear is "till I go home"...
Anja Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 I seem to recall that you had to be 18 officially, but they didn't really check it at all. Or something along those lines. That what it said in the terms and conditions. I think some people had just asked John on his FB or MySpace and he said it was okay. As I said, Amy (infamy) had brought her little brother and also, no one there asked us for our IDs. I think John was just afraid people would complain about the swear words lol
Ellenkc Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 That's before, haha. Unless it's also that after what I hear is "till I go home"... Yeah it's before and after Here's the two verses; Wasted youth and a fistful of ideals. I had a young and optimistic point of view. Wasted youth and a fistful of ideals. I had a young and optimistic point of view. I've decomposed, yet my gut's getting fat. Oh my god I'm turning out like my dad. I'm always rude I've got a bad attitude. The world owes me, so fuck you.
Hanner Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 It starts with "Be silently" and the next word starts with "dr": http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn177/hermionexxx/besil41222_463814587847_605682847_6497705_5137123_n.jpg People are saying it's, "Be silently drained", but I don't know where they've got the "drained" from - I haven't seen a photo of it. If there is a photo I'd like to see it because I wanna know what it says! it says "Be Silently Dreaming" 100% positive

I had a young and optimistic point of view. Wasted youth and a fistful of ideals. I had a young and optimistic point of view. I think she means after the last "I had a young and optimistic point of you", like, in the chorus after the "the wife's a nag" verse, right before the solo...
Micky Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 I think she means at 1:10/1:12 or something. I've never got what he says there
Katarina. Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Maybe just mumbling/random words again? I never knew what Billie was singing at that part. It kinda sounds like "point of view" to me, as if he's repeating the last words of the chorus line, but in a way it sounds like random words? Idk. Or he's just saying "ooooo/fsdhafdsf"

Yep, that's it, you understood me "'Till I go home" is plausible... Better than my guess at least. I think she means at 1:10/1:12 or something. I've never got what he says there This is exactly it. Maybe just mumbling/random words again? I never knew what Billie was singing at that part. Or he's just saying "ooooo/fsdhafdsf" Billie's random mumbling creates confusion once again. It could be "Point of view" though... said in a really weird way...
Hermione Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 it says "Be Silently Dreaming" 100% positive How do you know? *looks at your location* Have you seen it? Or is there a photo?
Hanner Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 How do you know? *looks at your location* Have you seen it? Or is there a photo? at the Chula Vista show (and kinda the Homecoming show) last week i was on the barrier center stage, so whenever Billie would come in front of us we had a perfect view of it. my friends and i spent a good portion of that show figuring out exactly what it said lol. i think one of us got a clear picture just to triple check we had it right.

Awesome! What an enjoyable way to solve a word puzzle :eyebrow:. Great to finally know what it says, I'm not surprised it's dreaming with the amount of times he's used that word in his lyrics. I like it
