Farah Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Good thread.. Well I have a question. I heard only a few days ago that When It's Time talks about Mike, did I miss anything while I wasn't visiting the GDC a few weeks ago? O_o Cause I had no idea about this really.
blitzkriegdeb Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 At the Mansfield show, the show started at 7 (for AFI, Green Day didn't come out until 8:30ish) and they let us inside around 6. So yeah, I think around an hour or so before the show is supposed to start.

I think you missed something there yeah When It's Time is about Adrienne, but Billie sang it at Mike's wedding. That might've been what you heard xD

Billie played it for Mike at his wedding with Brittney, I don't think the song talks about him.
Farah Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Billie played it for Mike at his wedding with Brittney, I don't think the song talks about him. Oh right. Well I knew that, but not long ago I read in an italian website like a massive explanation as to why it talks about Billie's love to Mike. Thinking about it now just makes me think I read a stupid's person's comment and even 'believed' it. -.-" I feel stupid now.
LetItBeHappy Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 if you stretch When it's time a lot, it could be about friendship instead of the other kind of love... But no, I don't think so
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 That'd sure be a close friendship.
BringMoreKnives Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 That'd sure be a close friendship. Bwahaha
Roxy. Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Did we ever get any confirmation that the account on poetry.com from the user B. Armstrong was really Billie's? yeah this is old but someone just brought it up and I wanna know.
Hermione Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Did we ever get any confirmation that the account on poetry.com from the user B. Armstrong was really Billie's? yeah this is old but someone just brought it up and I wanna know. Pretty much 100% sure it wasn't him. More than 100% . In any case there definitely wasn't any confirmation, it was just a rumour.
Moffie Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Pretty much 100% sure it wasn't him. More than 100% . In any case there definitely wasn't any confirmation, it was just a rumour. Yeah, it just didn't seem like his type of writing at least what we've seen through his songs.
woahsilence Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 http://www.greendayauthority.com/Picture_Vault/albums/Dec1605/normal_bj11.jpg ^ those railroad tracks are the famous "tracks at christie road", right? also, is there any other pictures of that same exact track? maybe other pictures similar to that one, but without billie?
craig69 Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Does anyone know what time GD will hit the stage tonight?
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 ^ I think you're better off asking that in the thread for that show
Kilgores Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Is the Cigarettes and Valentines the same as the Money money 2020 in 100%? Or they just left it behind? Cause I think they have the record and it's not the network album because it wouldn't be a good album after Nimrod, Warning etc and it's very very different from those songs ( it's to electronic for me) and we will get the album a very lot of after they wil end up. I hope y'know what I mean

I hope y'know what I mean We don't know, but I think Cigs&Valentines isn't Money Money 2020. Maybe some of the songs on MM2020 are inspired by C&V songs or something like that, but it's definitely not the same album. That's just what I think. Green Day have also said that Too Much Too Soon and one of the other AI b-sides (I forgot which Shoplifter, perhaps? That would make the most sense, anyway, since C&V supposedly sounds a bit like Warning, and Shoplifter definitely does.) are originally from Cigs&Valentines, but we don't know how true that is. What do you mean with the underlined part?

I didn't wanted to underline this part, and I was surprise whan I saw what I mean is when they will retire ( I hope they won't for another 15-20 years) we can hear the album or some songs from it like we did when MJ died we got a lot of unrealised song. Thats what I mean
Maddy. Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 I have a theory that they weren't happy with the C&V stuff and they got rid of it themselves and then started fresh with American Idiot.

Thats what I mean No, I underlined it, to show you what part of the post I meant Ooh, okay. Nah, I don't think they'll ever release it, retired or not. They got rid of it for a reason (I also don't believe in that stolen record crap. They just didn't like it, so they started over), if they wanted the public to hear it, they would've done that some way or another.

I hope y'know what I mean No, it 100% isn't. Rob Cavallo said that the album had a Warning-y sound. Also, Billie has said that Too Much, Too Soon was from C&V. They have also played the song called Cigarettes and Valentines at a soundcheck, but it wasn't recorded. I have a theory that they weren't happy with the C&V stuff and they got rid of it themselves and then started fresh with American Idiot. OMGZ, groundbreaking theory!
