I Googled it and it said it's actually a Lagwagon song? Brown Eyed Girl is an old Van Morrison song from the 60s (but loads of different artists have covered it including Lagwagon). Green Day have never played it as far as I know but there's a Pinhead Gunpowder song called Beastly Bit where Billie sings "You, my green haired girl" as a parody of the line "You, my brown eyed girl" from that song. That could be where the connection came from. Edit: Just looked it up on Youtube and it seems it's just that people hear the Lagwagon version and mistakenly think it's Green Day (even though it doesn't sound anything like Billie's voice ). So yeah it's just that.

Some time around the Nimrod era it got so broken/worn out that he couldn't use it anymore so he used replicas instead for several years. But then at some point before American Idiot he got it fixed. He used it on the American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown tours (except on the last leg of the 21st CB tour in South America, he used a replica there because the original was having some maintenance done to it).

He said in Out magazine that he'd never say he isn't bisexual, but that he isn't sure he still considers himself bi. It used to be on his Wiki page but now there's only the part of the quote that says "I don't really classify myself as anything." But yeah, I guess that part explains it.
