Harry Potter. Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 It was Mike on this video: Thanks. Now I can have the quote in my signature.
Hedwig Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Who put 409 in that teacher's coffeemaker; Billie or Mike?
Hermione Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Who put 409 in that teacher's coffeemaker; Billie or Mike? I don't either of them really did (since that would be attempted murder). I think they just felt like they wanted to.

kellista Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Are there any Green Day CDs that are master recordings? Like copied from the master, not copied for the CD further down the line. (I hope someone can understand what I'm trying to ask)

(I hope someone can understand what I'm trying to ask) 1039/SOSH was remastered and was released in 2004. no, sorry i am not sure about the master records.
Heather. Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Did Justin Bieber really say Green Day are too old to play? I missed that whole thing. Can someone point me to the exact quote/article/video that came from? Whenever I search about it I always just get people's reactions to it.

As far as I know he's actually a fan and someone made the rumour up.
Hermione Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 As far as I know he's actually a fan and someone made the rumour up. Yeah, someone tweeted Billie saying something like "Did you know Justin Bieber said he thinks you're too old to play?" (and then of course Billie responded but then thought better of it and deleted it ) and that's the first and only time I've heard of it. Pretty much 100% sure it was just made up by some idiot.
classof12 Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 is the Shenanigans graffiti real or is it computer made?
sara_gd Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 A few questions off "I'm the son of rage and love" -Can you give me different interpretations of that line? I can only think of the most obvious one ("your father's rage and your mother's love"). -Why does he say that that relation rage-love makes him an american idiot? -Why Why does he say that that relation rage-love makes him the Jesus of Suburbia? -Anything else you want to add

So Beiber probably never said it, but Billie DID respond with the "at least I'm old enough to fuck"? Excellent.
Hermione Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 So Beiber probably never said it, but Billie DID respond with the "at least I'm old enough to fuck"? Excellent. Yeah exactly, Billie did tweet that in response (but then hastily deleted it ). Must've either realized it was bit too mean to say that or realized it probably wasn't true.

InvaderPhantom Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Maybe not a fitting question for this thread, but does anyone have a fitting name for my Green Day post-AI B-side CD? I was thinking of something silly like "Dirty Mike and the Boys", but the CD has songs like Working Class Hero and When It's Time on it, so maybe that wouldn't be that fitting. Maybe a name that fits into the AI/21stCB eras? Come to think of it, I wonder when GD will release their next b-sides compilation, it's been a while since Shenanigans. Don't they want to make songs like Governator, Favorite Son etc. available to the public?

The first thing that came to my mind is that since those songs you quoted are about rebellion and about love, maybe something like "rage and love" or "love and razorblades". But meh... I can't come up with anything else.
DoodleBob Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 A few questions off "I'm the son of rage and love" -Can you give me different interpretations of that line? I can only think of the most obvious one ("your father's rage and your mother's love"). -Why does he say that that relation rage-love makes him an american idiot? -Why Why does he say that that relation rage-love makes him the Jesus of Suburbia? -Anything else you want to add 1. I've thought about how "rage and love" may be describing split personalities. For example, the "rage" part comes out in St. Jimmy, American Idiot, and parts of JOS. The "love" portion is apparent in Extraordinary Girl and She's A Rebel. Also, I've heard some people describing the JOS as "love" and Saint Jimmy as "rage". 2. Well, this is what I take from it: Rage can be referred to rebellion and blind hate. Anger and apathy. And then there's love, whereas that can be referred to hope, belief and blind faith. These concepts coming together at once can make a foolish person, somewhat of an idiot if you will. Hence the name 'American Idiot'. 3. And this is how I think of it: When people think of Jesus, they usually think of how he died for our sins. How he would sacrifice his life for us. His undying love for us. But what people don't think of is the other half. Don't you think Jesus was angry at us for putting him in that situation? Don't you think he had rage in his system? The concepts rage and love relate to this point, hence the irony of the name Jesus of Suburbia. Hope these answers aren't confusing. [Note: I know religion is a touchy subject. Don't want to start a debate. Also, this could totally not be correct. That's how I view these points.]

Here Mike's quote fits."I think censorship make people look more carefully at things" (Sorry I only saw a translated to Spanish version of the quote,so maybe those are not the exact words)

I'm thinking about the album quite a lot recently and there's those things that didn't really made sense to me, especially the Jesus part, I like your vision on it. Thank you
dutton316 Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Why did the Warning logo feature on the stage design of the American Idiot tour? Its not really fair to say the same of the 21CB tour, as thats mostly screens that showed artwork that suited the song, but there are static images of the guy being struck by lightning buit into the AI stage. Always wondered when watching BIAB.

DannyDirnt Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Just out of curiosity...is it known how good Tré,Mike and Billie were at studying?
Heather. Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Not very good students. Says nothing of their intelligence. Mike did manage to graduate though. Tre Cool was a class president so he obviously can work the popularity system. Probably through peculiar threats.
