E!!i Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Yeah, if you pay attention in Are We the Waiting, in a part where they're singing "Are we we are, are we we are the waiting" on the screen you can see Billie wearing a hat And when he's presenting the band you can see him with this guitar: but when he's presenting Jason Freese you see another guitar that also says "Green Day" but it has another design and only one star: That's what I've notice so far (after all the times I've seen it). I'm not saying is wrong or anything, but it really would have been great to see the 2 days of concert haha never noticed that but I think this is kinda weird, I would find it better if they only chose one day Victoria. really? or was that a joke
TheJedi Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Here's the one where they talk about 21stCB. The other songs are related to this video on youtube. okay, thanks!
Liam Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 why were jaded, she, maria, knowledge, we are the champions and homecoming omitted from BIAB? Well for starters, all up the who DVD was just over 2 hours long and they are limited to space. If they did include all those songs, you're looking at another 40mins onto the dvd. Knowledge is a song that goes for around 10mins plus they'd have trouble with the rights of the people and royalties to Operation Ivy, so they probably didn't want that hassle. We Are The Champions is a cover song again so trying to put it on something to sell would cause them to have to pay royalties to Queen. Homecoming is a song that would be too long to add to the DVD when its not even a single or anything and they probably wanted to keep it more to hits. As for Maria and Jaded they probably just felt they're also not very known songs and not really needed on the DVD. As for those screen shots that were posted, there's a few more things like that in the DVD. One example is during King For A Day/Shout it shows a shot from the helicopter but on the big screen you can clearly see the guitar from the introductions being played (with are also the Knowledges guitars)
ThibautDookie Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Did you hear this story about Green Day, a journalist did a good critic about the album Dookie, but he was dissapointed with the album Insomniac so he said that it sucks, Green Day wanted to impress him by their new album, but he died. Did you already heard about this ?
darenmay Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 and if this can be answered.. Are Tre and Dena still together?
solongfromthestars Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Are people getting confused with the anniversary of American Idiot on Broadway or something? Because that's today, right? This is the first time I've heard anything about Green Day's anniversary.
Katarina. Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 I think it's just this year that it's Green Day's 25th anniversary. Not a specific date. Or is there?..
Annie, get your gun Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Seriously, 25th Anniversary?? That's something we should definitely celebrate!
It's Splash Time Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Their 25th birthday is in the same year as their 40th birthdays. Reminds me of this meme:
DannyDirnt Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Thank for the Haushink info lol I forgot abut this thread. And I was wondering...is Jason officially a Green Day member now? I mean, will he appear now in credits in albums,in photo sessions and in interviews?
Elena Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Their 25th birthday is in the same year as their 40th birthdays. Reminds me of this meme: haha seems like they always look as old as their band anniversary is (ok, does that sentence make sense? xD) ...then there'd be even a logic
Heather. Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Billie has corrected a number of interviewers when they say Green Day started in 1987. He always says it's 1988, and that their first show was in October 1988 in Davis. So they really don't turn 25 till 2013.
Undómiel Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Before everyone gets excited we reckon the 25thGD thing is to do with annual Pot Smoking day... really? or was that a joke No, he was being deadly serious. We'll know about that when the time comes that things like that are starting again or when they announce something like that.
Heather. Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Didn't they play Rod Hickory's Pit in 1987? I guess they did, but they didn't consider themselves Green Day yet... maybe that was as Sweet Children? Did they even have John yet? I feel like Billie and Mike were in a "band" of sorts since middle school, so it's pretty vague...

darenmay Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 4/20 today, so it's Green Day's day. but not that it's their 25th year or whatevs

Then at the Milton Keynes show Billie says "We've been a band for the last 16 years", which would make it 1989. I don't know Let's wait till the summer tour starts. Billie might say "We've been a band for the last.. 23/24/25 years"
E!!i Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 No, he was being deadly serious. is this a joke now?

Billie might say "We've been a band for the last.. 23/24/25 years" well, maybe he always referes something else as anniversary...their first gig at Rod's Hickory Pit was in 1987, but i guess they "really" started just in 1988 (maybe that's where John came and they played more gigs) and the thing with 1989 is where they changed their name to Green Day...according to that all these dates would be correct imo, but i dunno why Billie then always corrects the interviewers when they say 1987? ...probably in a few years he'll just say "We've been a band for a looong time" and won't name any year anymore or maybe they just wanna confuse us with that
Liam Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 I think they say 1988 because they only played 1 gig in 1987 and it wasn't until 1988 when they actually got signed to Lookout! records by Larry Livermore.
Harry Potter. Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Who said 'Nobody knows nothing and everybody knows anything' ?
