Actually, I asked my mom about it right after posting the quesion and she was all, 'yeah, he (Tre) had blue or green hair or something...' LOL

It was on offhand comment Billie Joe made at the AI open night that Hole and Joan Jett would be supporting in Wembley and Manchester. He didn't say anything else afterwards but Courtney mentioned in an interview that it was more of a second thought suggestion because they're friends but she doesn't get along too well with Joan so she didn't want to play before her.

Most people here don't like her but I would have killed to see her play with them

It's a collection of their EP's put together; 1000 hours, 39/smooth and Slappy. I'm pretty sure they were all recorded in a studio. The sound is just really rough, they didn't edit much of it.

Too be honest I'm quite glad it was just Joan Jett, if Courtney ended up doing something stupid it'd just overshadow everything.

I'd say that would be one of the reasons why she turned it down, didn't want to fight with Joan and ruin their day. In fairness to her she doesn't do stupid shit all the time, but it's only the stupid stuff that gets publicity, a sober, controlled Courtney doesn't sell magazines

Ah! A question/mystery I never did get an answer to. I asked it a long time ago on here.

In 2000 Green Day played Minority on Letterman and all recordings I've seen cut off very quickly at the end, but Tre looks like he hurt himself in some way. Does anyone know what exactly happened? The next time they were on, Dave mentions that the last time they were on the drummer had to go to the hospital. I feel like I've read something about him slicing his hand on his cymbal but I'm not sure if it was this incident at Letterman. Dave said something like "he got the wind knocked out of him". Also, does a full video exist?

39/Smooth is a studio album, though, not an EP as far as I know. And 1039/SOSH is a collection indeed of that album and those two EP's.

Yeah, Dave was joking about Hitchin' a Ride I guess. But. At the end of Minority (which was the time before Warning) you can tell he gets hurt in some way and I vaguely remember reading something about him slicing his hand on the cymbal. The only copy of the performance I'm aware of cuts off very quickly at the end though so it's hard to see what happened.

Yeah, I remember they told the story of Tre's ball in a radio interview in 1997. I'll try to look for it again but the interview exists on Youtube somewhere. EDIT: Check Youtube Channel /CharlatansAndSaints and the story was part of the 5 part video "Green Day Modern Rock Live Interview." I don't remember which part but I think it's in that.
