LetItBeHappy Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Your first question, that most certainly did happen, on Letterman. Here's the video of it second question: I recognize it but I forgot where it came from. Perhaps from his actual voicemail (or well, I'm not sure if it was his actual voicemail, but it's always been called "Billie Joe's Voicemail"... I think it was one of those clips the IC used to post. But that's all gureessing from my part.) Pretty sure is one of these: http://www.greendaycommunity.org/Forum/index.php?showtopic=41602 if not... then I don't know

Actually, I asked my mom about it right after posting the quesion and she was all, 'yeah, he (Tre) had blue or green hair or something...' LOL Thanks muchly! Pretty sure is one of these: http://www.greendaycommunity.org/Forum/index.php?showtopic=41602 if not... then I don't know Yep, it's the first one! Thank you! Whenever I get a message from someone who's never called me before there's always this slight pause before they start talking.

Smbcf Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Have they had to cancel any dates on the 21CB tour? (other than Italy..) I seem to think they have but I don't know when/where/why.
Nele Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Have they had to cancel any dates on the 21CB tour? (other than Italy..) I seem to think they have but I don't know when/where/why. Nope, Italy was the only date that got canceled.
Four. Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Hey, sorry if this question was answered already (which it probably was), but I don't really feel like searching through the whole thread, so, could someone tell me who exactly is the Pink Bunny? yknow, the one who always drinks beer and moons people and stuff? well, the only pink bunny that is the Epic Pink Green Day Bunny.
blitzkriegdeb Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 ^If I remember correctly, they had to cancel a concert in Australia, I think it was, because Billie got food poisioning.

It's not one person. It changes all the time, it's different crew members.
IscoredWaddlesgoals Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Did I dream it (and I wouldn't put it past me quite frankly) or did they once say that Courtney Love would be supporting them on this tour ? Were they misquoted or has something happened ? I seem to recall it was in an interview they did in New York and I might have made a thread about it...
ethanzh Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Why isnt 1039/Smoothed out slappy hours a studio album

It was on offhand comment Billie Joe made at the AI open night that Hole and Joan Jett would be supporting in Wembley and Manchester. He didn't say anything else afterwards but Courtney mentioned in an interview that it was more of a second thought suggestion because they're friends but she doesn't get along too well with Joan so she didn't want to play before her. Most people here don't like her but I would have killed to see her play with them Why isnt 1039/Smoothed out slappy hours a studio album It's a collection of their EP's put together; 1000 hours, 39/smooth and Slappy. I'm pretty sure they were all recorded in a studio. The sound is just really rough, they didn't edit much of it.

I'd say that would be one of the reasons why she turned it down, didn't want to fight with Joan and ruin their day. In fairness to her she doesn't do stupid shit all the time, but it's only the stupid stuff that gets publicity, a sober, controlled Courtney doesn't sell magazines
Bohemian+Scandal Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Ah! A question/mystery I never did get an answer to. I asked it a long time ago on here. In 2000 Green Day played Minority on Letterman and all recordings I've seen cut off very quickly at the end, but Tre looks like he hurt himself in some way. Does anyone know what exactly happened? The next time they were on, Dave mentions that the last time they were on the drummer had to go to the hospital. I feel like I've read something about him slicing his hand on his cymbal but I'm not sure if it was this incident at Letterman. Dave said something like "he got the wind knocked out of him". Also, does a full video exist? Yes, I'm quoting my own post so I can ask again. Does no one know anything about this?
oda Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Yes, I'm quoting my own post so I can ask again. Does no one know anything about this? does this help? but i think the two preformances in this clip might be in the wrong order if he hurted himself during minority. youtube
LetItBeHappy Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I remembered an old question I've had for a long time! You know the audio where the guys tell the story of Tré's ball? (download here) Where is it from? Is there a full interview or a video or something?
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 It's a collection of their EP's put together; 1000 hours, 39/smooth and Slappy. I'm pretty sure they were all recorded in a studio. The sound is just really rough, they didn't edit much of it. 39/Smooth is a studio album, though, not an EP as far as I know. And 1039/SOSH is a collection indeed of that album and those two EP's.
oda Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Does anybody have any idea if american idiot on broadway will still be running in June 2011? It will be my only chance in a lifetime to see it.
Bohemian+Scandal Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 does this help? but i think the two preformances in this clip might be in the wrong order if he hurted himself during minority. youtube Yeah, Dave was joking about Hitchin' a Ride I guess. But. At the end of Minority (which was the time before Warning) you can tell he gets hurt in some way and I vaguely remember reading something about him slicing his hand on the cymbal. The only copy of the performance I'm aware of cuts off very quickly at the end though so it's hard to see what happened.
jmax21 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Does anybody have any idea if american idiot on broadway will still be running in June 2011? It will be my only chance in a lifetime to see it. As of right now, it's only playing until January 31st 2011. There is the possible chance of an extension, I can see it happening. For now, stay up to date on their facebook page (www.facebook.com/americanidiotonbroadway) or the official website www.americanidiotonbroadway.com
st.idiot Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 did tre ever explain or mention why he switched his drum setup from having two bass toms and 1 floor tom (kerplunk!-insomniac) to having to floor toms and one bass tom (nimrod-now)
Moffie Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 I remembered an old question I've had for a long time! You know the audio where the guys tell the story of Tré's ball? (download here) Where is it from? Is there a full interview or a video or something? Yeah, I remember they told the story of Tre's ball in a radio interview in 1997. I'll try to look for it again but the interview exists on Youtube somewhere. EDIT: Check Youtube Channel /CharlatansAndSaints and the story was part of the 5 part video "Green Day Modern Rock Live Interview." I don't remember which part but I think it's in that.
