Anja Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Which festival? All the big rock festivals in France are in June or July this year... Seems very unlikely to me... That's what I was asking. He just replied though and said it's called "Rock en Seine". Just found this: http://www.festivalg...e-festival-2012 It's also on LastFM and some punk news site.

I guess this is their official site? http://www.rockenseine.com/en/ If it's comfirmed it should be on there too, right? I can't find anything about it.
Fuzz Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Seems like every festival includes Green Day if they show up on one.
desertrose Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 That's what I was asking. He just replied though and said it's called "Rock en Seine". Just found this: http://www.festivalg...e-festival-2012 It's also on LastFM and some punk news site. It translates out like this So far, three bands for the Rock en Seine 2012 confirmed Green Day, Placebo, The Black Keys Rock en Seine 2012 headliners are highlighted 8/24/12 to 8/26/12
VivaRomy Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Are Green Day religious? Billie Joe was quoted in Kerrang! a couple of years ago saying that he was agnostic (as far as I remember!) A friend just told me that GD are playing a festival in France in August on the same weekend as Reading/Leeds. Anyone know about that? Efestivals say nothing is confirmed for 2012 yet ( http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/rockenseine/2012/ ) so sounds just like a strong rumour?

Anja Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Hm, why should a site called "festivalguide" (a site many people get their information from) lie? That's why it confuses me so much. Festivalguide is like THE website for festivals (in Germany, that is) and they're very reliable, usally.
VivaRomy Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 That's why it confuses me so much. Festivalguide is like THE website for festivals (in Germany, that is) and they're very reliable, usally. Just been on Rock en Seine's website - they announced the first bands last year on 15th March so I'd imagine it's around the same time again next year (http://www.rockenseine.com/en/news/first-bands-and-tickets.php?id=44) As for the website, perhaps they've made a mistake, or they meant that they were rumoured headliners?
DoodleBob Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I thought it sounded more like clarinet, I maybe wrong, but is there anyone else out there that knows? (It would make more sense, because clarinets are more similar to Saxophones, just saying) Nope. I play clarinet and I know that's definitely a flute. It sounds somewhat like clarinet because the octive used in the song is unusally low for a flute.
Jules. Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Hey people! Do any of you know which was Green Day's first show EVER? And where was it? I've always wanted to know that!
green day is Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Their first show was more of a practice, at the restaraunt Billie's mom worked at at the time. Then right after that they had their real first show at 924 Gilman St.
GeekStinkMe Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 the song reject... is ist true that its a respond to an angry mumy letter ??
Disapperingirl Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 the song reject... is ist true that its a respond to an angry mumy letter ?? Yes, here you can find the copy of the letter and more about the story behind the song, thanks to Aska http://www.greendaycommunity.org/topic/85951-reject/
Heather. Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Maybe this should go in the song meanings thread but does anyone know/have educate guesses as to why the lyric is "from ANAHEIM to the Middle East"? That just seemed so random, of all the places...Anaheim... if he was just looking for 3-syllables he could've gone with Jingletown... Unless it's an attack on Disneyland.
Moyeszet Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 It translates out like this So far, three bands for the Rock en Seine 2012 confirmed Green Day, Placebo, The Black Keys Rock en Seine 2012 headliners are highlighted 8/24/12 to 8/26/12 Rock en Seine is 1 kilometer from my house, and they DIDN'T ANNOUNCE the lineup yet. There are just rumours : Radiohead, Placebo and Green Day. But NOTHING, I SAY NOTHING is announced. Otherwise I would know, I'm supposed to go. And it would be screamed on posters in all the town. Rock en Seine is set on 24-25-26 of August if I remember. The lineup is supposed to come fast, but not now...I'm praying.(plus, Rock en Seine is pretty big. They had Arctic Monkeys and MCR last year. Not so bad.)
Zelda Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 "We rented out a movie theater to watch 'Team America'. But I started doing bong hits with New Found Glory and I had to leave half way through." - Tre Cool Could anyone tell me where this is from? I saw it on GDA and I just have to know.

It says right on the GDA quotes page. It's from an an nterview with 'Law of Inertia' February 2005 This article: http://www.greendaya.../articles/48/2/ I can't find any info about 'Law of Intertia', so I'm wondering if that's not the name of the magazine. But that's all I could find (or at least that's what we had it filed under for years). If anyone has anymore info about it, let me know. Edit: Hah, damn you Liam.
longlostson Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 do people actually get to keep billie's "blue" guitar at shows? i know they are copies of the original, but i just wonder what all happens when they get one
Fuzz Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Yep, if he gives it away they get to keep it. There are currently no replicas. The last one they had, nicknamed "Azul", was given away during the last tour in South America. The only "Blue" that exists now is the original.
Jules. Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Do any of you guys know the lyrics of "I want revenge" by The Boo? Would you please send it tom me or something? Thanks

Heather. Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 When was the 21st Century Breakdown demo 'leaked'? Just wondering when I can start salivating for a possible repeat scenario...
Katarina. Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 When was the 21st Century Breakdown demo 'leaked'? Just wondering when I can start salivating for a possible repeat scenario... I think somewhere in February 2009. If I remember correctly that's when I got it and had it on repeat for a long time.
kristóf Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Hey guys! So... I was trying to ignore all the videos on YouTube (about new songs... ok, except Amy&Carpe Diem), so the new album will be a completely surprise for me. Anyway, i saw the new studio video, when Billie's talking about this girl, Amanda. And he's been writing songs to her since 19 years. So, my question is: Is this the girl who was Billie's girlfriend, but then she left to Ecuador? And why is Billlie's still writing songs to her? When i finished the last sentence I figured out that maybe i should post this to some 'New album' topic, but it's actually a question about Green Day's history, so maybe it fits here as well. Thank you for all of your answers! When was the 21st Century Breakdown demo 'leaked'? Just wondering when I can start salivating for a possible repeat scenario... It was leaked on the 19th of February.
