desertrose Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Hey guys, quick question... Do you happen to know where is this pic from? I know it's probably from the Kerplunk era, but where was it used in? It is a tshirt from 1994. Here it is on ebay for $93.75 http://www.ebay.com/...=item3cc03e553d
Kristen M Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Thanks so much! It definitely looks like the limited edition is worth it
jamesobxfan2296 Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 $93 for a t-shirt!??! I guess so if it's rare and is vintage.
InvaderPhantom Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Was there any specific reason why they didn't choose Rob Cavallo as the producer for 21st Century Breakdown? I mean he produced every album since Dookie (except for Warning, but he was involved somehow), why didn't he do anything for 21stCB? I remember them saying that 21stCB was supposed to be the best album they've ever done and their biggest achievement yet, so why didn't they choose the person who they trust and that has done every other album as the producer? I really wonder how 21stCB would have sounded if it was produced by Rob. The complete sound of the album is extremely dependent on the producer, and I wonder if 21stCB could have sounded less "produced" and "shiny" like it does with Butch Vig as producer. I actually like 21stCB's overproduced sound in some way, but I just wonder how it would have sounded with Rob. I really hope Rob Cavallo will be the producer for the next album. Or anyone but Butch Vig! Like I said, I kinda like 21stCB's overproduced sound, but I think it only works with 21stCB because it's such an "epic" and big concept album. The next album is supposed to be smaller and simpler, a more classic rock and roll sound, and I really think the 21stCB sound would not work with that kind of album.
Fuzz Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 I'd love if Rob came back. If i'm not mistaken, he couldn't do it at the time. I don't know if that's the reason, but he was working with some other bands, but at the same time he was also promoted to run Warner Music. I'd really love to see him come back and produce another Green Day album. I think they always do their best work with Rob around.
Brigister Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 It is a tshirt from 1994. Here it is on ebay for $93.75 http://www.ebay.com/...=item3cc03e553d Holy shit 93 bucks! You can take that picture and go make one with that on it for, like, 15 bucks!
Elena Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Holy shit 93 bucks! You can take that picture and go make one with that on it for, like, 15 bucks! i could even make one for 0 bucks, cos i have everything i need for doing that at home
Brigister Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 i could even make one for 0 bucks, cos i have everything i need for doing that at home Yea that's really not worth 93$, I mean if it's from 1994 it must be also all worn and ruined, so why buying something like that. I know it's a relic from the ol' times, but whatever, it's still too much.

Heather. Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 What's the interview where Billie does the whole "this is ME this is YOU this is ME this is YOU" thing? Is there a link somewhere to the whole thing?
green day is Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 http://www.greendayc...es-san-jose-ca/ In this thread, someone mentions something about a "song off HLAHG" and the way they make it out is that there's an unreleased song on it or something. Anyone know what they're talking about? [Edit:] Here's the quote They've been pulling a lot of 'secret' songs outta the basket, well... two. That song from HLAHG, now this.
Fuzz Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 The song that was on HLAHG that was unreleased was "When It's Time". HLAHG shows Billie Joe recording it for American idiot, but they decided not to use it. It was later released on the Musical soundtrack.

Nah, that's When It's Time. At the time the audio was ripped it hadn't been released but it has been now, on the musical soundtrack.
~ Walking Contradiction Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I have two questions: What does "razorback" mean? (one for the razorbacks) I've heard different theories about the meaning of the title... On the spine of 39/smooth (vinyl) it says "James, put down that skinhead!" and on the spine of Kerplunk it says "Say ouch now before I hafta hurt you!"...what does that mean?
pasalaska Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I have two questions: What does "razorback" mean? (one for the razorbacks) I've heard different theories about the meaning of the title... 'The Razorback' was a girl that Billie knew, therefore the song is for her. The 's' that makes it a plural (Razorbacks) is actually a typo that Billie was apparently pretty annoyed about because he thought people would think it was about the sports team. Larry Livermore told us that little factoid. I'm slightly paranoid Larry will see this and tell me I remembered that all wrong...
~ Walking Contradiction Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Wow, thank you for your explanation Aska!
Beathe. Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 What's the interview where Billie does the whole "this is ME this is YOU this is ME this is YOU" thing? Is there a link somewhere to the whole thing? It's a clip of him saying that on Egos and icons. The interview you're talking about is from Much Music, but I haven't seen the whole interview before. But egos and icons is in the download links here on GDC and on Youtube.
