Gwen Stacy Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 I was looking around GSB.net and I found a song called Sometimes I Don't Mind. Has anyone heard of it? http://www.geekstink...es-i-dont-mind/ That is an older song also alternatively known as C Yo Yus. It was actually on the Radio Daze bootleg recently plugged by GDA. Billie says it's a cover but I can't find who originally did the song.

Billie says it's a cover but I can't find who originally did the song. Its actual name is C#(tion) and is by the Bay Area punk band Fifteen (another Gilman band). The recording is from the WFMU in-studio set Green Day played in 2002, which is also known as the Radio Daze bootleg.
Countrygirl Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 I'm not sure if this needs a thread or not, but I was just thinking that it would be cool if Billie Joe played piano on stage without the band and sung a song or two. Has he ever done that? If so, can someone post a video? I know he's done it here:

Cori Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 So I was wondering, what happened to that studio cover of Stay the Night? Did it get taken down for copyright reasons or something?
oda Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 So I was wondering, what happened to that studio cover of Stay the Night? Did it get taken down for copyright reasons or something? It's still on soundcloud http://soundcloud.co...-stay-the-night I don't know why it's not on GDA anymore
Cori Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 It's still on soundcloud http://soundcloud.co...-stay-the-night I don't know why it's not on GDA anymore Alright, that's cool. Thanks for the link.
Cori Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 We were asked to remove it. You were asked to remove it? By whom?
Fuzz Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 You were asked to remove it? By whom? By someone who we listen to
Cori Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 By someone who we listen to Oh, okay. I get your meaning. Thanks.
Heather. Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 I read this on some tumblr's review of 2011 theater... I know gossip is gossip, but I hadn't heard this rumor before about Billie Joe... "Rumor has it that he’s currently recording an album with Idiot costars and theater veterans John Gallagher, Jr. and Michael Esper, and I’d be thrilled to see that materialize sometime in 2012." Was there any indication of this?
beejeezee Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Never heard of it. Tumblr is the least reliable source though.
Tomcat20 Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Is there still a download link for Absolute Radio Live Recording of the Manchester 2010 show around?

BJA TC MD Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Who plays the piano on the album versions of the songs on 21st Century Breakdown?
green day is Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Who plays the piano on the album versions of the songs on 21st Century Breakdown? The booklet says Jason Freese, but Billie says it was him. I've always figured Billie played the main parts and Jason played the little back up parts you can sometimes see Jeff playing live.
Hermione Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Who plays the piano on the album versions of the songs on 21st Century Breakdown? In the album credits it says "Billie Joe Armstrong: guitar, piano, lead vocals" and also "Additional Musicians: Jason Freese - piano" So they both played on the album. But earlier this year there was a live Q&A with with Chris Dugan (who engineered the album) on the Idiot Club and someone asked if Billie played piano on the songs. He said yeah it's Billie playing. So I think from that we can come to the conclusion that Billie played the main piano parts and Jason Freese played the smaller back-up parts. Edit: And yeah Billie's said he played on there too (he's never specified exactly how much of it was him, but since he's never mentioned Jason Freese in his answers that once again backs up the idea that Billie played the main parts). Also this is my 18,000th post

green day is Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Jeff doesn't play piano - only guitar and backing vocals. Really? I could have sworn I've seen him playing some piano in the background.
Liam Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Really? I could have sworn I've seen him playing some piano in the background. Yeah I thought I saw that as well, not sure though. I think with the album, Billie did piano for songs like Viva La Gloria's, Restless Heart Syndrome and songs like that while Jason just did piano for the small parts in songs like 21 Guns
Heather. Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 IDK, Billie said he wrote 21 Guns on piano, I would think it was him recording it for the album and probably Freese for the piano parts of songs where it's less obvious, like 21CB.
green day is Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 This brings another question to mind - who played piano on Knowledge? Probably Billie.
