Liam Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Are they really ricording there new album? They are recording (we can assume) but they have said a new album technically doesn't exist yet but they have been playing a few shows and testing new songs out as you would have seen
Mommy's Little Nightmare Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Which interview was it where Tre commented that you have to tell Billie he looks pretty in the morning?
stuart_and_the_ave Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Which interview was it where Tre commented that you have to tell Billie he looks pretty in the morning? It was Kerrang January 2005 here
Mommy's Little Nightmare Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 It was Kerrang January 2005 here Thank you. But I think I remember seeing a video of it somewhere too. And I really feel like it was 21st Century Breakdown era.

Mommy's Little Nightmare Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Oh sorry I don't remember a video. Hopefully someone else can find it There might not be. My friend brought it up yesterday, and it's been driving me insane. Because I really think there was a video- I just don't remember where or what. But it honestly could just have been this article!
BJA TC MD Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 According to Wikipedia (not that it should always be trusted),Sean Hughes was a former member of Green Day. Was he even in the band?
pasalaska Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 According to Wikipedia (not that it should always be trusted),Sean Hughes was a former member of Green Day. Was he even in the band? This is from way back in page 49 of this thread: Séan was a good friend of Billie and Mike in their teens, and maybe still is, I dunno. When they first started playing together Mike was only learning the bass, so him and Mike shared the bass duties of Sweet Children
BJA TC MD Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 This is from way back in page 49 of this thread: Ok, thanks
green day is Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 I'm pretty sure November is wrong, because in everything I've ever read, Sean was the bassist and Mike was rhythm guitar, they didn't share bass duties.
Jimmy Strummer Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Hey guys, I'm back!! Did ya miss me?? .... No? Okay. Anyway, I was watching a video on YouTube of Blink 182 during the recording of their 2003 album, and at one point, Mark mentions that he wants to go to Skywalker Ranch to record an album (y'know, where George Lucas wrote all those horrible Star Wars prequels?), which made me wonder if Skywalker Ranch is even available for bands to record albums in. Apparently, it's not, but Skywalker Sound in Lucas Valley is. So, I went to their site to see what kind of stuff they've worked on. To my surprise, under the section titled "1998" is the name of a very familiar band: GREEN DAY. As far as my knowledge goes, and after doing some research, the only places I've ever heard about Green Day stuff being done in have been:Art Of Ears Studios in SF (39/Smooth to Kerplunk)Fantasy Studios (Dookie to Nimrod)Studio 880 in Oakland (Warning to present)Ocean Way Recording in Hollywood (American Idiot to present)Jel Studios in Newport Beach (21CB)Minneapolis (Sweet Children EP)Costa Mesa (21CB)and Electric Lady Studios in NYC (musical cast recording) Did they work on something in Skywalker Sound that I'm not aware of, or am I correct in saying that Skywalker Sound is a bunch of liars?

That's where Tré recorded his as-of-now unreleased Country Opera, tentatively titled "Cock Goes Where?!"
Dylan. Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 That's where Tré recorded his as-of-now unreleased Country Opera, tentatively titled "Cock Goes Where?!" Is this a joke? If not...that's the greatest thing I've ever heard of.
Jimmy Strummer Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 That's where Tré recorded his as-of-now unreleased Country Opera, tentatively titled "Cock Goes Where?!" Hahaha, alright, I got it. So either Skywalker Sound is lying, or there's something extremely obscure I'm missing that they DID work with the band on.
Abbey. Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 This guy made a download of all the new stuff http://www.greendayc...-shows-bootleg/ That's about as close as we have right now, I believe. Thanks Andres. It would be great to have a pinned thread with only new music recordings. And that is mostly because I am too lazy to hunt around for all of it and dont also want 18 copies of 2000lya recorded by someone's iphone.
IscoredWaddlesgoals Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Right, this is random: Have they ever actually talked much about being in the Simpsons movie ? I don't know why, but I'd just be interested to hear how it came about & if they had any input into the script. It's a fairly major thing but they don't appear to have said much about it.

I've listened to the commentaries on the DVD and during their scene, it mentions some of that. But Green Day aren't in the commentaries, it the writers of the show and stuff. Now, what are the real words to AI, CALLING out to idiot America, or GOING out to idiot America?

The only thing I ever heard about it, was that they wanted green day for the film, but "green day never answer their calls". Somehow they managed to find out that the band wanted to do it. But other than that, I've never heard anything else, and the guys have never spoken about it either.

I assume they enjoyed doing it and yet, they've never breathed a word. Although I suppose they've not been asked about it much either.

Although I suppose they've not been asked about it much either. I think it's just because they did it at a time when things were SUPER quiet for the band, like 2006/2007. They weren't going around doing interviews at the time so there wasn't an opportunity for them to get asked.

Karen. Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Yeah, we should add it to our list of questions for the band. I think there's a thread for that.
Fuzz Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Well, then, let's ask the next time we see them! "yeah, that was cool. they asked if we wanted to do it, we said yes, and recorded our little bit for it" there you go. that's what I imagine their answer would be if someone asked them about it. Now instead we'll ask them something better.
