I have never, ever heard that before. Ever. I call bullshit.

Just scanning through ebay (as I do when I'm bored) when I came across this - it's a 2008 edition of Dookie with the CD made from some sort of special high-grade plastic that improves the sound quality when played.

Has anyone got this/heard of it? I'd love to know how the sound quality differs from the regular CD.

I think that was the CD that was released in Japan only for a Dookie anniversary. I'm pretty sure I have it somewhere but I don't think I've ever listened to it. I had a similar Sum 41 CD though and the sound quality didn't seem any different to the regular CDs (or maybe I just have bad ears, lol). There was something back in the day about re-releasing all of Green Day's albums like that in Japan but I don't know if it ever happened.

Excellent, thankyou for that :)

What was the name of the video where it showed a lot of music videos and live performances, and then ended with 21st Century Breakdown coming soon, and they played a little snippet of Song of the Century.

You mean this one?

Anyone know when/where this concert is? Is this Oakland Coliseum?

It's the Tiki Bar.

You mean the concert in the photo? That was September 24, 2005 at the SBC Center in San Francisco during the AI tour. Or is that pic just part of your sig?

Posted

Nope that's not my sig, that's the question, so thanks! AT&T Park, nowadays.

Lol I was looking for that video everywhere xD Even searched in the GDA News Archive and all that, but the links didn't work. Turns out it's called sizzle.. (I couldn't remember it anymore and thought the video was called Green Day Shizzle ) Thanks!

Posted

No problem! The only reason I knew it was called Sizzle was because I'd downloaded the video when it first came out two years ago and that was the file name

Well, at 6:44 and 7:21 (the guy and girl under the umbrella), that's Nick and Jojo, I believe. I think Nick is BritishIdiot on GDC? I heard they just got married in the last year or so. :)

And, at 7:54, OF COURSE, that is the one and only "I come in early" Tony and his brother Carl. Tony is greendaytone here on GDC and actively involved with GDA.

Thanks for linking that...it's been awhile since I watched it and I forgot how much I enjoy it.

Tony, I wub your contribution to this more every time I see it.

Does anyone know any of the Green Day fans in this video? Just curious...

DON'T WANNA BE-

No, I don't know any of those fans in the video.

Who's Tony?

:lol::P

Billie Joe's wikipedia page has "violin" under instruments :quoteunquote: It has a lot of instruments which he barely plays, like saxophone, but I've never even seen him pretend to play the violin... is there any accuracy in this whatsoever? Have we ever even seen him holding a violin? Ha.

Don't think I've ever heard of Billie Joe playing the violin.

Have heard of Tre playing the violin before he started drums, but not Billie.

Have you seen him pretend to play the saxophone? And if so, does anyone have a video/picture of him with one?

[Edit:] Nevermind, I should learn to Youtube before I ask questions.

Ah thanks for that. And Tony, how cool is that being on Bullet in a Bible? You realise more than a quarter of a million people have watched that video!

If he wants to learn how to play, I can teach him...

If never seen him play/hold a violin, but I've seen photos of him holding/playing a double bass. :P
