Beathe. Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 I'll be graduating then too, gotta say I feel pretty good about that! Yeah, you should.
Mrs. Nobody Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Yay for graduating in '13! =P Do you guys remember when they first did that vid of them in the studio? It wasn't a very good quality, but we all went .dijsofjsfosfj over it. at 0:16, did the number actually mean anything? cause at the time, some people were wondering whether it was the album release date or something I could of course be speaking bollocks
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Yay for graduating in '13! =P Do you guys remember when they first did that vid of them in the studio? It wasn't a very good quality, but we all went .dijsofjsfosfj over it. (video) at 0:16, did the number actually mean anything? cause at the time, some people were wondering whether it was the album release date or something I could of course be speaking bollocks Aww that video (or that other one) was the first news post on GDA when I discovered that site and shortly after, GDC. And I think that number was the frequency (not sure if it's called like that in English) of the radio station they were doing. They mentioned that station in an interview, maybe even multiple, that they were doing their own (illegal?) radio station where they were broadcasting songs they liked and occasionally, songs or demos from 21stCB. So if you drove by, you had the chance on accidentally hearing new, unreleased Green Day material. So I think you had to tune in on 98.5 for that, or something. that explanation was unnecessarily long.
hoashell Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 So when did Green Day start with the drunk bunny, and who is in the suit? just curious thanks... I'm pretty sure his name is Scott (having a mental blank with his last name at the moment) he part of the crew.
oda Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Can someone please tell me what "underbelly" is/means? It's mentioned a couple of times on AI. (Letterbomb "the underbelly stacks up ten high" and Homecoming "cigarettes and coffee with the underbelly") I don't usually speak english, so i don't get it. I tried urbandictionairy but it didn't make much sense. thanks EDIT: My apologies if this is a ridiculous question.
LilyMarie Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Underbelly kinda means the same thing as ghetto. Just a nasty, seedy part of town. It can occasionally refer to people from that part of town or lifestyle, too. Also (sorry if this is stupid) does anyone know what the bloody hell Billie's talking about in St. Jimmy when he says "I am the son of a bitch and Edgar Allen Poe". I just don't get where EAP fits into *anything* there...

LilyMarie Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 isn't EAP considered like one of the first "emos"? Hm. I guesso. It's better than anything I have come up with anyway. thanks
Guest derekb Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 On GDA where it has Random Facts it has Billie Joe never owned an acoustic guitar but wasn't his first guitar an acoustic guitar?
LetItBeHappy Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Hm. I guesso. It's better than anything I have come up with anyway. thanks well, he wrote terror books, right? so St. Jimmy could be considered as scary On GDA where it has Random Facts it has Billie Joe never owned an acoustic guitar but wasn't his first guitar an acoustic guitar? Blue was his first guitar, which is an electric guitar. At some point he said that he bought his first guitar after Dookie, when he had money to spare
r-evolve Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Anyone know any good sites that sell ~older GD merch? I'm looking for this hoodie in a smaller size and I can't find anything. \:

Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Blue was his first guitar, which is an electric guitar. At some point he said that he bought his first guitar after Dookie, when he had money to spare I thought he got his first guitar, an acoustic, from his father, and he got Blue (later) as a Christmas present from his mom (who bought it from his guitar teacher). But I've heard so many versions of this all over the internet I really don't know it for sure anymore. Even the Green Day biography books say different things. xD
Smbcf Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Right, this is a rediculous question but it's bugging me. Is Billie really that drunk at FBHT shows? I mean, I've never seen them live or anything but I've read a few comments on youtube that have said they met him after etc and he was pretty sober. *shrugs* Technically not even a GD question.... I'm gonna shut up now.

Devan Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 someone should ask him although I'm pretty sure he will tell us a completely different versoin! I'm pretty sure in the Idiot Club Q & A a long ago, someone asked who gave him Blue and he said it was his mom.

Hermione Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 I thought he got his first guitar, an acoustic, from his father, and he got Blue (later) as a Christmas present from his mom (who bought it from his guitar teacher). But I've heard so many versions of this all over the internet I really don't know it for sure anymore. Even the Green Day biography books say different things. xD Yeah that is right. He got Blue from his mum when he was 11 and an acoustic from his dad when he was younger. I've read that consistently in quite a few articles/interviews with Billie. It's only in lists of so-called "facts" and crappy articles where they didn't actually interview him or anything where I've heard different. I think it only gets reported differently because it makes for a cooler story to say his first guitar was blue and he got it from his dad before he died. Right, this is a rediculous question but it's bugging me. Is Billie really that drunk at FBHT shows? I mean, I've never seen them live or anything but I've read a few comments on youtube that have said they met him after etc and he was pretty sober. *shrugs* Technically not even a GD question.... I'm gonna shut up now. I think he is. At the London show at one point he was kneeling down at the side of the stage and gagging like he was trying to be sick and spitting out phelm. The beer was flowing and he looked totally drunk, I don't think there's any way that could've been just an act. BUT I think he's definitely one of those people who can be very drunk but still remain in control - he was in complete control of what he was doing and what was happening on stage, a brilliant frontman as usual. I think he's a (very) happy drunk, and he's had practice at playing shows while drunk so he's good at it. That's my theory
r-evolve Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 This? they are sold out, but they are the only known (that i know of) retailers that had other sizes available. it may have been discontinued to be honest. ah, i see. thanks (: What about Ebay? yeah, I think I'll just keep looking over there.
netty Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 I'm pretty sure in the Idiot Club Q & A a long ago, someone asked who gave him Blue and he said it was his mom. I just realised.... that was my question!!! I think. oops.
GDM Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Hey, this picture is Alexandra's from last night. Is this guitar new? Jill and I were talking today and neither of us had seen it. Billie did a bunch of solos on it last night. We were thinking that maybe it's what he bought at the guitar store in Buffalo that he tweeted about, lol.
Eirik Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Yeah, I think that guitar is new. Unless that is one of the Gibson hollowbodies he used during the recording of nimrod. He hasn't used it live before, at least.

He hasn't used it live before, at least. Thanks, Elrik. He was playing some long solos on it. It looks shiny and new and sounds good, too.
