pasalaska Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 I distinctly remember reading an interview with Tre where he said that the magazines completely exaggerated the whole situation.
green day is Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Have they done any drugs other than marijuana and acid?
Hermione Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Have they done any drugs other than marijuana and acid? They used to do a lot of speed in the early/mid 90s, Billie's said it was their "drug of choice", especially when they were making Insomniac. I think they stopped doing it at some point before Nimrod time and switched to alcohol. Billie went from speed-skinny and twiching to chubby and drunkenly fun on stage so... Pretty sure they haven't done harder drugs for a long time though, Billie's said he would "never" do acid or speed again.
farley drexel hatcher Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I think they probably did their share of coke, too. Though they did say they never did the natural move from speed to coke like they'd seen so many of their friends do so it probably wasn't that excessive. I'd say their last time for drugs (other than weed) was during the making of AI.

Tomcat20 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Look at 00:10 min! Where did they take these statements from? Looks like somekind of usernames..??
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I don't know, I think it's something like comments on articles or forums on the war with Iraq and/or Afghanistan. Possibly Green Day forums as well because one of the names is "marissaarmstrng", although that may just be a coincidence. It's also got a thing from Spongebob in it though at some point. I wonder what the whole thing is composed of. Interesting. Thanks for posting that! I never really paid much attention to what was on the screen at that moment.

"please explain this korea vs. america war thing" I think it's probably about war in general.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Dammit, I thought I included that in my post, "or war in general", but apparently I didn't. Thanks for pointing that out.
farley drexel hatcher Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Thanks. Why do you say that? Because billie said in an interview just afterwards that 'speed and cocaine don't suit me in large quantities', regarding all the partying they did. But yeah they've said they don't do anything now.

At one point "Who lives in a pineapple under the sea" scrolls across the screen. There's a video somewhere... found it! http://youtu.be/RAMwWxi50I4?t=4m1s You can see the words pretty clearly in this one, it does look like usernames...
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 At one point "Who lives in a pineapple under the sea" scrolls across the screen. There's a video somewhere... Yeah, that's what I meant with the Spongebob thing.
pasalaska Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Yeah, that's what I meant with the Spongebob thing. I didn't read your post properly
ltrbmb17 Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 does Billie really speak something about "409 in coffeemaker" before singning Amy in tiki-bar?
Hermione Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 does Billie really speak something about "409 in coffeemaker" before singning Amy in tiki-bar? Yeah, first he said "this song's called Good Riddance, I wrote it last week" and laughed - he was making a joke by saying it was an old song when it's actually a really new song. Then he said "this song's called 409 In Your Coffeemaker" and laughed - I guess he was continuing the joke by saying it was an even older song.

Hermione, thank you for the answer! hmm.. billie makes jokes before such a sad song.... i noticed that many singers use this joke saying "it's a new song" before the oldest song and "it is something old" before a new one

It was a sad song but it was a fun show, so at some point there was gonna be joking and seriousness close to each other.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 And it's not like it is a joke-joke anyway that has you laughing out loud. Just a small little joke.
ltrbmb17 Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 And it's not like it is a joke-joke anyway that has you laughing out loud. Just a small little joke. yes, of course. but there was about 16 new songs before "Amy". Strange that he decided to make joke right at this moment. but.. it's only his choice... maybe Billie doesn't take this song so seriously as me

Strange that he decided to make joke right at this moment. but.. it's only his choice... maybe Billie doesn't take this song so seriously as me Nah, I think there were probably jokes going on throughout the whole show, from everything I heard it was a really fun and jokey atmosphere. The jokes could carry on right up until a serious song but the song could still be totally serious. Kind of like how they used to play Wake Me Up When September Ends right after King For A Day/Shout
Heather. Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Is it true that Green Day has never had a billboard #1?? I just find it really hard to believe....
Velocity Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Is it true that Green Day has never had a billboard #1?? I just find it really hard to believe.... I don't think they've ever hit #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Singles list, no. I think they peaked at #2 with Boulevard of Broken Dreams. But they've hit #1 on the modern rock charts before, and at least the last two albums were #1 on the albums chart. Which is fine by me
Heather. Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 I guess I shouldn't take the top singles chart too seriously when it revolves around things like Ke$ha and LMFAO. I think it's that Vh1 is currently running a "Top 100 #1s of the 21st Century" and I was keeping an eye out for GD and then realized, wait a minute... I was so sure there'd be BOBD or another song on there... it just seems to automatic for pop stars to go straight to number one. I guess that's the nature of pop over rock.
littlegirl-of-suburbia Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 It's probably been talked about before but did Green day say anything about the whole BOBD vs. Wonderwall by Oasis?????????????
Bam-Itz-GreenDay Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 I was reading something somewhere and someone said Billie once had a Panic Attack.. is that true? because like i was speechless.. and scared
