Little Girl Little One Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Is there a reason that in the AI musical When Its Time is sung over the guitar part from When September Ends? I always kind of saw it as a sort of set-up for WMUWSE to echo it. When It's Time was supposed to be his beautiful love song for Whatsername, but he screws everything up. He's then left with his love song but can't sing it to her, so he alters it to mourn everything that went wrong in his life and all that could have been.
BJA TC MD Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 What exactly is Your Ass Looks like Two Elephants Wrestling?
Hermione Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 what does the line in st. jimmy that goes "the needle in the vein of the establishment" mean? I'm not really sure if it's a drug reference.. It's a metaphor to describe St Jimmy. It's saying St Jimmy goes against the establishment, he's a bad and dangerous influence on society. Just like drugs injected into someone's vein are a bad and dangerous influence on their healthy body. What exactly is Your Ass Looks like Two Elephants Wrestling? Sounds like an insult meaning "you have a big ugly ass" . How does it relate to Green Day though, did one of them say it?
green day is Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 What exactly is Your Ass Looks like Two Elephants Wrestling? Those guitar tabs are not for a real song by Green Day. Are they by another band? I have no idea. Probably not.
StuckWithRob Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 On the Awesome as Fuck album in Viva la Gloria Billie shouts out something at 3:14 after the line 'don't let the bonfires go out' and I've never figured out what it is. Any ideas?
XxRedundantCastaway86xX Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Hey does anyone know if any TV stations ever re-air the performances that Billie and Elvis Costello did together? And if so which ones?
Ingrid Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 On the Awesome as Fuck album in Viva la Gloria Billie shouts out something at 3:14 after the line 'don't let the bonfires go out' and I've never figured out what it is. Any ideas? I always figured it was 'Texas', seeing as that's where that track was recorded
pasalaska Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 No, it is "Kiki (or Giki. Something like that), Tokyo!", which roughly translates to "you're the best Tokyo" I answered this question already further up the page Billie already sort-of knows how to say 'Tokyo's the best' - on Tune In Tokyo he says 'Tokyo Ichiban!' ("Tokyo number one!") a number of times On the Awesome as Fuck album in Viva la Gloria Billie shouts out something at 3:14 after the line 'don't let the bonfires go out' and I've never figured out what it is. Any ideas? "Texas" That recording is from Dallas. edit: too late
Tripe Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Hey does anyone know if any TV stations ever re-air the performances that Billie and Elvis Costello did together? And if so which ones? It aired originally on VH1 Classic. I remember the original airing, not sure if it has been re-aired since that time on that station. I don't believe it has been shown anywhere else? Sorry that's not much help. It seems like the kind of thing that might eventually show up on Palladia.
StuckWithRob Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 I always figured it was 'Texas', seeing as that's where that track was recorded Ah thanks for that!

kristóf Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 I just read that in the Pop Disaster Tour Tré and Travis from Blink 182 weren't like each other too much or something like that... Anyone knows anything about it? They had some conflict or..?

Anyone knows anything about it? They had some conflict or..? That's the Kerrang article right? Apparently the magazine exaggerated the 'hostility' between the two bands a lot. No doubt there was friendly rivalry, but I know that Green Day have said that that interview is exaggerated
kristóf Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 No, actually I read it below a YouTube video. But I'm curious about this article, so I'm gonna check it out. Thanks for the reply!

Snorri Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 When Green Day were playing When I Come Around at Woodstock in '94, what did Billie say right before the guitar solo started? He shouts something, but I've never heard what he said even though I've watched the video on YouTube countless times... Here's the video, it's around 2:17
Clayish Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 http://www.greendayauthority.com/articles/93/1/ very interesting! Even though what Tre said is true, he was pretty damn harsh jeeze.
pasalaska Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 very interesting! Even though what Tre said is true, he was pretty damn harsh jeeze. as I said before, I've read somewhere that the whole 'rivalry' was blown way out of proportion by that article, and they're actually friends or at least there's no feud.
Artificial Idiot Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 very interesting! Even though what Tre said is true, he was pretty damn harsh jeeze. Is it okay to claim this article bullshit?
pasalaska Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Is it okay to claim this article bullshit? well there are probably elements of truth to it - the quotes might even be correct, but just taken out of context. Tre's a joker, it's entirely possible.
Fuzz Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 http://www.greendayauthority.com/articles/93/1/ For some reason it makes me really excited to see someone linking to the new articles section
IscoredWaddlesgoals Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Not to go too off topic, bit surely any 'feud' can't be that bad if Mike's doing his shoe range with Tom ? Kerrang must have maybe missed out any nicer things they said and just kept the 'nasty' stuff.
