"This is for all my friends" makes more sense.

I typed that in first, because that did make more sense, but after listening to it again, he said at all my friends. Or, he could just have been talking fast and screwed up the word.

Okay, thanks mates. :)

I've got another one:

In the same video – Holiday on Awesome As Fuck – at 4:00. What does he say there? Sounds like "Kiki, Tokyo!" or something like that. I first thought it's Japanese for "thank you" or "I love you" but Google Translator doesn't agree with me.

Maybe it's an English word that I just don't know?!

He's saying 'genki'.

There's not really an exact translation into english for genki, but it's basically like a mix of 'happy', 'well' and 'alert'.

So like, if you're talking to someone you'll say 'konnichiwa, genki desuka?', which is basically saying 'hi, how are you?'

The closest thing I can think of in english in that context is when Billie says 'are you alive?' during the AAF CD.

Something like ""The day you become old is the day you're not looking for new experiences anymore." Billie Joe Armstrong

"I've matured, maybe, but not grown up." Trè Cool

...???

awesome :D

ok to be the first question, i was wondering if there was 1039/smoothed out slappy hours let out on lookout records and if so what is the difference of that and 1039/SOSH released on reprise. um did that make sense? i hope so

Well, there should be no difference in the songs/record, but I find that funny because in Rolling Stones Green Day edition from 1996 it said that Green Day told reprise that lookout records had the rights to 1039/SOSH and Kerplunk!, so unless lookout records sold the rights to reprise, reprise shouldn't be selling those two albums. (unless they made some sort of deal of course).

I hope that helped!

Is there a reason that in the AI musical When Its Time is sung over the guitar part from When September Ends?

There's not really any particular reason as far as I know, it's just the way that they decided to write/compose it. (and in my opinion it works perfectly!)

^ I remember I read a comment on Youtube ( of a Green day concert video) where someone wrote a quote like that from Billie Joe...but I don't know where it was from

I know of one quote of Billie's that's along those lines:

"Once some of your fans are younger than the length of time your band has been around, you can't get naked anymore."

Is that the one?

Afriad I don't know where it's originally from, I saw it as part of a collection of quotes Kerrang! printed earlier this year.

I aware this post was probably terribly unhelpful, but maybe I get least got the right quote? :ermm:

My minds a bit fuzzy on this one but I think its on the VH1 Behind The Music special

I was browsing the local thrift store, and I found an old copy of 1039SOSH back from the Lookout days. I brought it home to see what I could get from it.

The inside of the booklet is slightly different, the cover has different... colors (?), the back cover is very different, the art on the actual CD is slightly different, the sound quality is pretty bad... curious little stuff like that.

So, do you guys think it has any value? Does anyone else have a copy from Lookout, not Reprise?

I have a lookout copy, and I'm sure a whole lot of other people do too. Green Day left Lookout in 2005, so think of all the copies sold before then.

I don't have a Reprise copy, but I'm pretty sure the covers are very slightly different.

Hmm okay just seeing if I could sell it because now I have a Lookout and a Reprise copy.

what does the line in st. jimmy that goes "the needle in the vein of the establishment" mean? I'm not really sure if it's a drug reference..

No, it is "Kiki (or Giki. Something like that), Tokyo!", which roughly translates to "you're the best Tokyo"
