Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 If it's something different, maybe the little piano part could be from Last Night On Earth. Cause it's right after "Last Night". Nothing wrong with more speculating.. But there's a lot of piano parts in Last Night on Earth and EJN only has two notes Maybe it is though. I'm gonna listen to LNOE later today and try to find a part that has this .. I have to ask... The St. James Theatre: Coincidence? Or was that planned? Pretty sure it was a coincidence, yes. They needed a theater with a very high stage "opening" and space above the stage (sorry, don't know the English term for it) because the set was really high, and not many theaters have that, I think the St. James was one of the few. I don't know anything official (and I definitely don't know a lot about the specifics of theaters on Broadway), but I think it was a coincidence.
DrunkBunny217 Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 ok i was just wondering: What is the Bullwinkle's relation to Green Day? because i always here people talking about the bullwinkle and green day and was wondering what the connection is. the bulwinkle is tre cools sexual positionhas billie ever said anythin else about playing in the AI movie after he said that hes not committed to playing St. Jimmy
Four. Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 .. I have to ask... The St. James Theatre: Coincidence? Or was that planned? A question relating to that. The "St. Jimmy" light thing which hangs above the St.James bar... Is that because of the St.James or because of the musical?
InvaderPhantom Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 The short piano you can hear in the beginning of East Jesus Nowhere? It's from Viva la Gloria (Little Girl). Definitely. Oh and it definitely says "rebel radio" in Japanese accent, it sounds exactly like a Japanese would say it.
green day is Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 The short piano you can hear in the beginning of East Jesus Nowhere? It's from Viva la Gloria (Little Girl). Definitely. Why do you say that? And thanks for providing more conformation on the Japanese part.
green day is Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 I love these last pages. So much info. I agree very very much.
Hermione Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Yeah thanks for working out all this stuff! Nice to know more about my favourite song
ltrbmb17 Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 i wonder why the song "paper lanterns" is called so? maybe billie said about it somewhere..
letterbomb_19 Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 A question relating to that. The "St. Jimmy" light thing which hangs above the St.James bar... Is that because of the St.James or because of the musical? I'm pretty sure that it was because of the musical. they named the bar "St. Jimmy-Bar"
Tripe Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 A question relating to that. The "St. Jimmy" light thing which hangs above the St.James bar... Is that because of the St.James or because of the musical? I always assumed it had been there well before the AI musical as a happy coincidence, but I don't know for sure.
pasalaska Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 I always assumed it had been there well before the AI musical as a happy coincidence, but I don't know for sure. see I always assumed the sign was made especially for the musical
green day is Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Did the Lookout release of the Kerplunk! CD have the Sweet Children tracks on it, or did only the Reprise version have them?
pasalaska Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Did the Lookout release of the Kerplunk! CD have the Sweet Children tracks on it? yes.
Undómiel Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Can someone please inform what 'Bowling Bowling Bowling Parking Parking' is? I know it's an EP with some connection to Green Day released in 1996, but is it actually their's...?
Four. Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Can someone please inform what 'Bowling Bowling Bowling Parking Parking' is? I know it's an EP with some connection to Green Day released in 1996, but is it actually their's...? It's a live album by them which was only released in Japan, Europe and South America. The songs on it are Armatage Shanks, Brain Stew, Jaded, Knowledge, Basket Case, She and Walking Contradiction.
Tripe Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 see I always assumed the sign was made especially for the musical It's funny that no one ever asked, as often as many fans were in there over the months talking to everyone! Hair is there now, for several weeks - wonder if it's still the "St Jimmy?" Or is it "Berger's" or "Claude's?" It would be cool if they changed it each time, depending on which musical was playing there.
Fuzz Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 I was pretty sure they made it just for the AI musical.
Mato Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Walkin' The Dog is a Rufus Thomas cover, not Aerosmith: they only did a cover of it on their debut album It's a live album by them which was only released in Japan, Europe and South America. The songs on it are Armatage Shanks, Brain Stew, Jaded, Knowledge, Basket Case, She and Walking Contradiction. plus Dominate Love Slave on Japanese versions
Ellenkc Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 They made it for the musical, why would the St James have a St Jimmy sign up there for any other reason? It was just a coincidence that the design team ran with I'm guessing.
Trina Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Does anyone have any recollection of a rewrite of When I Come Around (possibly titled Second Time Around) that Green Day put up as an audio message on GD.com, I suppose between 2002-2004?! The melody was pretty similar but the lyrics were different. I feel like they mentioned candy. There was some great Mike harmonies too. I may have mixed up something but if this did indeed happen does ANYONE have a recording of it?! Thanks!! I've looked for this many times but never find it. I know most of the audio messages besides Billie Joe's are unfortunately missing. (Although I still have hope someone out there must have them!) Edit: Woops, I quite obviously didn't look hard enough before as I've just done a quick search and found a download link on gdc. Fingers crossed it works. Haven't heard it in years. But, I gotta ask again...Does ANYONE have the rest of the audio messages?
Fuzz Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Any of the messages are posted here, I believe http://www.greendaycommunity.org/index.php?showtopic=41602
Guest EDIT Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Any of the messages are posted here, I believe http://www.greendaycommunity.org/index.php?showtopic=41602 I want to hear more, they're cool!
Hermione Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Any of the messages are posted here, I believe http://www.greendaycommunity.org/index.php?showtopic=41602 Yeah it's the Tre (and Mike?) ones people are after. Can't believe there's no recording of the Tre ones, someone MUST have them somewhere.
