green day is Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 While we're "dissecting" things from the album, what are all the things in the radio intro to East Jesus Nowhere? I know that the "We will see how Godless a nation we have become" was recorded from a religious radio station, and "La Ultima Noche" means "The Last Night" in Spanish, but what are the others? There are two music clips and another non English part. I remember that in another thread (or this one) someone identified one of the music clips as being from Nice Guys Finish Last, but I'm not so sure. I remember that they posted a download link to a comparison track they made, but it was down by the time I got to it.
whatsername..x Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 yeah, I got the La ultima noche bit too, before that the girls voice before that kind of sounds like 'dede nurachio'? which also sounds Spanish? being half Spanish I really should know but shamefully I can only pick up the odd word. The more I listen to it on repeat, the more confused I get..
Katarina. Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 While we're "dissecting" things from the album, what are all the things in the radio intro to East Jesus Nowhere? I was searching for the meaning of that first part. I'd never heard of this before, but some people say it's "Reberu rajio", it's Japanese and it means "Level radio". Sounds pretty random. And I don't know about that music part. It sounds like a Green Day song, but (if so) which one.. no idea. It made more sense when I used that first part in google translate. It asked if I was sure I didn't mean "Rebel radio"
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 The song part in the intro from EJN is defintely from Nice Guys Finish Last, it's the word "last". I'm sure the audio clip has been taken down, but this has been proven in two different threads with audio clips and all and it's definitely that. You can't really hear it if you listen to NGFL, but if you secure (?) only the word "last" (not sure which last) it sounds exactly the same as the thing in EJN. What/when is the other song part? (As in, in the intro, I only hear one music/song part. Well, exept from something sounding vaguely like music in the static thing that is the very beginning, and one or two piano notes after "la ultima noche")
Jaymee!! Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 I was searching for the meaning of that first part. oda Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Is the little piano part from LNOE? Right after the dude says "La Ultima Noche"
green day is Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 yeah, I got the La ultima noche bit too, before that the girls voice before that kind of sounds like 'dede nurachio'? which also sounds Spanish? being half Spanish I really should know but shamefully I can only pick up the odd word. The more I listen to it on repeat, the more confused I get.. If you speak Spanish and don't understand it, you're probably hearing it wrong. It asked if I was sure I didn't mean "Rebel radio" I'd assume that that part as well was recorded directly from the radio, so it doesn't really have to make sense. The song part in the intro from EJN is defintely from Nice Guys Finish Last, it's the word "last". I'm sure the audio clip has been taken down, but this has been proven in two different threads with audio clips and all and it's definitely that. (As in, in the intro, I only hear one music/song part. Well, except from something sounding vaguely like music in the static thing that is the very beginning, and one or two piano notes after "la ultima noche") Thanks. I'll have to make my own audio clip sometime, to hear it for myself. The other audio clip is just a piano, one note. Doubtful it's identifiable, but I figured I may as well mention it along with the others. Rebel Radio would make more sense, since it ties in with the actual pirate station that they demoed the CD on. But I don't understand where you two are getting "Rebel" from. Because it sounds like level? It's Japanese, just because rebel and level sound alike in English doesn't mean they'll sound alike in Japanese. What's this about demoing the CD on pirate radio? Is the little piano part from LNOE? Right after the dude says "La Ultima Noche" It could be. But it's only one note. Someone should identify the note, to help.

You know those late 2008 videos of them in the studio recording a song? They showed a radio transmitter or something like that. If I remember it right they used a pirate radio station to play (demo) songs off the new record, and they called that station Rebel Radio. They recorded a few of the clips in 21CB (like SOTC) off that station as well I believe. And recently Billie Joe tweeted about rebel radio coming to orange county, which is pretty exciting. At least for the people living there, haha Obviously Rebel radio is something else in Japanese, I just thought it was funny that google thought I meant that instead of level radio.

Doubtful it's identifiable, but I figured I may as well mention it along with the others. Right. I figured that was just part of the "ultima noche" clip, as if la ultima noche was the ending of a sentence and after that a jingle starting with that piano note starts or something. But maybe it isn't, idk. Now that I listen it, it does sound like something differnet. As for the Japanese thing, maybe they just took a part that mentioned the word rajio/radio, never mind the first part. Just speculating though *shrugs*
Katarina. Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Right. But maybe it isn't, idk. Now that I listen it, it does sound like something differnet. If it's something different, maybe the little piano part could be from Last Night On Earth. Cause it's right after "Last Night". Nothing wrong with more speculating..
green day is Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Where did the Dookie Demos come from? Like, who originally put them on the internet and stuff? And who put the 21CBD demo on the internet as well.
whatsername..x Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 woah, this is mega confusing..very interesting though! I kept listening to it over and over and just tying random things into google translate, hoping a meaningful word randomly came up. Well done Katarina for working out maybe it's the Japanese for Rebel radio...and the link to Rebel Radio. Think it's the most likely speculation at the moment gonna listen again and see if I get the Nice Guys Finish Last bit in the intro

Actually, both "Rebel radio" and "Level radio" are pronounced and romanized "reberu rajio" in Japanese. *knows a bit Japanese*

Jaymee!! Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Where did the Dookie Demos come from? Like, who originally put them on the internet and stuff? And who put the 21CBD demo on the internet as well. I'm not sure about the Dookie demos, someone might know their origin. But the 21st CB demo is a complete mystery, and was not taken too kindly by the band. They were very upset over that one getting leaked, I can tell you that.

Liam Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Where did the Dookie Demos come from? Like, who originally put them on the internet and stuff? And who put the 21CBD demo on the internet as well. Well theres 2 sets of demos that got released. The first one (which had the "Walkin The Dog" cover) was the one they sent around to record labels and all that so thats kinda obvious how it got onto the internet but the 2nd set I'm not to sure of

I didn't download them in two sets, so I don't know. Is that why there's multiple versions of some songs?
Silverlight Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 This may be a strange, pointless, question to ask, but, does anyone on here know Billie's height? I would search on Google, but I'm getting mixed answers from there...

On GDC the download is both sets together. The 2nd set of the demos also has different tuning for some of it First set (one sent around to record labels): 1. Having a Blast 2. When I Come Around 3. Longview 4. Burnout 5. Basket Case 6. Haushinka 7. JAR 8. She 9. Pulling Teeth 10. Sassafras Roots 11. Walkin' The Dog (Aerosmith cover) 12. Don't Wanna Fall In Love 13. FOD 14.
