Eh, I could see that. But I could also see them putting it on there because of the great reception it got when they played it live. Maybe they'll have it as like a bonus song on the deluxe version of the album or something. xD I just think they wouldn't have played it in recent shows if they weren't planning on releasing it sometime soon, you know?

I know what you mean about them putting it on AAF, especially the way they made a video for it and everything. Maybe they were just kind of using it as a selling point for the live album, but I'd like to think we could get a studio version because they're obviously keen on the song. I dunno about it being on a proper album but they could release it another way, maybe as a b-side, or if they make another b-sides album, or even just randomly. Hope they do!

Maybe they'll release it via Twitter. xD "Hey guys, y'know, here's a studio version of Cigarrettes and Valentines." His dog will be in it. You know, the whole shebang.

That would be great . And stranger things have happened. With the Foxboro Hot Tubs they just made a website with 6 songs for free download on it one day, and then later they just randomly gave us The Pedestrian on their Myspace one day and Broadway on another. So you really never know with them!

Lol I was just about to reference that! I think they get extra weird when they have less going on...now that the musical is done and they aren't touring, I could totally see them doing something like that just to mess with us.

Totally! Billie's tweeting about pirate radio stations already........I hope we're gonna see plenty of funny business before the next album's out :D

Does anyone know how many records Green Day have left on their contract with Warner?

Yeah, I'd be really curious to know this too.. Especially with Billie Joe having said the record label had been acting weird with them and not taking interest in them with 21stCB..

Their contract was up after American Idiot I think but obviously they've got another one since.

Where did he say that? I'm curious, I've never read that before.

It was on the updated VH1 Behind The Music documentary that was aired at the end of last year. During the bit about AI and 21st CB that they added on the end. It was mentioned on the last couple of pages of the thread for it (but not really discussed):

sorry if this is the wrong thread (or if it was already asked).

i came across this box set on e-bay and i've never heard of it. does anyone have it or know if it's good/bad?

I don't recognize it. But if it's legit, that's a really good price for 5 DVD's. I bought a documentary from a music/movie store in Madison a few months ago, and although it wasn't anything fancy, I was actually pleasantly surprised. It was an independent documentary from around 2002 where they interviewed random people who were involved with Green Day in their earlier days. So I'm sure it would probably be a cool thing to have, but I wouldn't expect it to be super classy if it isn't something produced by a big name company. That's usually how it works.

If you're going for BJA hair circa late 80s/early 90s: "Billie uses Jhirmack Styling Spritz to get his hair good and crunchy"

Totally relevant and helpful answers, guys. Thanks. :P

Billie Joe's hairstyles aren't exactly complicated. Pomade, spiking gel, or even spiking spray would probably do just fine.

welcome! :)

aaaand maybe not gel, more probably a dryer product such as a wax. Gel makes hair too heavy and causes it to flop if it's more than a few centimetres long. Wax also gives a fluffier texture like Billie's got.

Does anyone know exactly where and what house Billie Joe grew up in? I'm going to be visiting Rodeo and just wanted to drive by it!!

I don't think anyone should be giving out addresses to stuff like that here. If it's not public knowledge, then it shouldn't be shared.

Aw, that's actually kinda disappointing. xD At least we know Billie can play it, seeing the videos of him playing while his dog sings.

I saw an interview recently and BJ said he taught himself piano for 21CB..though that might have only been for writing the piano parts...he played it when he was little though right?

Yeah, I remember him saying that too. I think he probably played small amounts of piano when he was little, but then re-taught himself more complicated parts for 21CBD.

Sorry Andres, big fan dude!

Be great if we could know, but that would most likely be an invasion of privacy.

Considering his mum still lives there, that would be creepy as hell.
