Hey, some time ago there was a youtube video posted on GDA that showed Billie Joe literally saving someone in the moshpit. I tried to find it, but the keywords "Billie Joe Armstrong" Green Day" "concert" "saving" only bring up East Jesus Nowhere videos :(

Does anyone have a link to that?

Are you talking about where he stops the show to make sure someone is ok?

Ugh, I'm hopeless with finding videos. And no, it wasn't that one from Singapore :(

there's gotta be multiple cases and videos of Billie stopping and helping people in the audience. At the Manchester show in 2010, Billie stopped half way through good riddance because he'd spotted someone collapsed in the audience.

There's also the video of Billie jumping on the 'mohawk motherfucker' for being a dick in the pit.

"Good Riddance" - During one show on the 21CB tour, someone had passed out during Good Riddance, and fans got Billie Joe's attention, who called for medical help. He made a quip about, "I guess she really did have the time of her life," then carried on with the song.

Manchester, UK, 2010

said that in my previous post :P

Dammit I had a question that was gonna go in here...can't for the life of me remember it now. Gimme a min...

EDIT: Oh yeah now I remember. Does anybody have details on how the U2/Green Day collaboration started? Did U2 ask GD to do it or was vice versa?

It would be nice if they did any of that, but I have a feeling Billie is just going to focus on Broadway and then in 2013 release a mediocre album, put on one last kick ass world tour and that will be the last we ever see of them. Then in 2020, MTV will do a special on how the band has been doing since they discontinued the production of their music, talk about GD's charity donations. In 2030, nobody will know who Green Day was. Adeline will then release Cigarettes and Valentines for charity and the proceeds will go to fighting the bubonic plague (it will re-appear in ten years), it sales for $30,000 with only less than ten songs on it. Tre Cool passes away from being hit by a bus when saving a child from being hit, Mike becomes a meth addict and broke, he dies of a seizure, Billie dies from a toenail infection that slowly spread to the rest of his body. But anything is possible.

Haha, did u come up with that? Hilarious man!! But I think Green Day will keep coming up with stuff for quite a while, they love the band so much, you know? I do think that Broadway will be in the picture for a while, the off-Broadway musical I mean. It will go on the American Tour and then hopefully (and probably, I think) a world tour, which I hope for so everyone who didn't get a chance to see it in NY to get to see it in their countries.

You're right about a 2013 album, that's when their next one will probably be released. Or maybe 2014 depending on how long the guys wanna keep "perfecting" it.

In 2016, however, I am expecting to drive to Cleveland because Green Day will be inducted to the Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame. ;)

Comparing it to this:

Which we know was written by BJA, it's tough to say. Billie Joe's o's have a "hat" where he started to write them, and these don't. BJA's handwriting is also less straight, with lots of letters (most noticeable on a's) curling up at the end of the letter.

There is one thing that confuses me, though. At the top, it says "tape/CD". Was this hand-written, or is this a pre-printed form letter? If it's hand-written, I'd say it's someone with handwriting very close to BJA's style, but not exactly the same. If it looks like it was pre-printed, BJA probably did write it himself, and he took his time making it look really nice.

Having seen loads and loads of Billie's handwriting I'd say the Adeline note is even more typical of his handwriting than those lyrics (probably because those lyrics were scrawled in a hurry). I think it's definitely his handwriting in the Adeline note.

It was in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and The Edge co-founded a charity called Music Rising. It was about helping musicians in New Orleans, who had lost everything, to get back on their feet - like, getting them instruments and such. So, it was pretty much The Edge's baby, but I recall that Billie Joe said Bono e-mailed or called him about it and he was just 'yeah!!' straight away.

Also recall The Edge saying that he'd always loved The Skids' song from back in the day, and that good songs always come back. :)

Yeah totally agrees with you. And when you compare it with this one

the handwriting is pretty much the same, so in my opinion the adeline letter was written by Billie too (:

I never knew that they would actually respond to any mail, unless your giving them a thousand dollars or something. It's nice to know he takes the time to respond to an occasional thing. :)

Stupid question that I'm sure has been asked before, but I wanted to make sure...

Do any of the actual members of Green Day have a Facebook account?

Short answer, No.

Tre had an account a few years back, but it's not active anymore.

In bullet a bible in the bit before they go on the stage backstage you can see a orange amp connected to a marshall speaker. Does anyone know what this is for?
