Dry_Ice Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 I have a question; My friend told me today, that billie dyes his hair blonde, when he has another mood... sadly or something like that, and that he loves himself more with black hair.. Wtf is that??? somebody knows anything 'bout that? I would just think it's time for a change... or The Rev is coming out to play
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 I heard somewhere that Billie dyed his hair back to blonde. Is this true? Just wondering. There's a picture of it on the Billie Joe picture thread. I did not know this. Guess that happens when you forget to follow the picture threads.... and I scare myself by caring at all, and caring that I didn't know this.
St. Banana Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Not too sure whether this is the type of question for this thread, but I know it's not thread worthy. So, in LOTAG ive always wondered the meaning of this line/what is being expressed: 'She makes enough to survive for a holiday in working class' Its not the words themselves confusing me, I think its the...wording? Anyway, any opinions/answers on this would be greattt

Anyway, any opinions/answers on this would be greattt I'm guessing she can go away when she wants, go on vacation that is. So she has the money even for a working class/blue collar girl. In the UK and other European countries they say 'on holiday' or 'a holiday' when expressing sometime off, a vacation or a break from school.

Ok thanks for that, and yeah Australian's call it 'holiday' too I for some time thought it meant that she lives all the time, how the working class would just on a holiday. Like her normal life is a holiday to the working class. But I like your thinking

Dry_Ice Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Okay, we all know Tre was born in Frankfort, Germany. But what's the story behind that? When did he come to America? etc. I mean from what I see, is that his mom had him over there cause maybe the father was stationed out there for war? I don't even know... what do you guys think? I mean is he was young when he was in Larry Livermore's band The Lookouts, so that's where I get my guess from.
Metanoia Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 I think it was in MTV Driven they said something about that and why they were in Germany.
Minority_GD Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Obviously Tre's is real but surely Snoo Cool's isn't? Unless I've missed something. What evidence is there that it's real? I saw John Roecker having a conversation with Snoo Cool on his wall and I'm sure John would know if that account was fake. They were talking about another The Network tour and that John would love to be the tour manager again.. John told us that the Jason White account was fake, so I'm sure he would have told us when he found out Snoo was fake as well.
Juliette Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 This isn't really a question, but that thing about LOTAG a couple posts up made me realise that two of their songs have 'holiday' in the title but they're american so why didn't they say vacation?

Billie has this sad little 'wannabe british' thing going on. Listen to Give Me Novacaine, and well I rest my case
Maura99 Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Aha! Finally a place where we can ask 'what we always wanted to know but were afraid to ask'! Here's my question: What's the story behind the handkerchief that Billie wears in his back pocket? (I believe he started doing that around AI...) Isn't this a symbol that originated from the gay community? How did it end up being a symbol for punk? Does it matter what colour it is in? Don't you usually find it in the more hardcore punk scene? The guy from Rise Against wears it too, so I figured it was more a Straight Edge thing... Idk. Or... am I looking too far into it and he just wears it because it looks cool? Fine by me if that's the case; I don't mind if there's nothing more behind it. I was just wondering, that's all...

Bastard of 1967 Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 What's the story behind the handkerchief that Billie wears in his back pocket? (I believe he started doing that around AI...) I've seen other artists do the same on tour...hands get really, really sweaty after a few minutes playing guitar under hot lights. I agree it does add to his overall "badass" stage presence though.
Maura99 Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 And I'm wondering why no one who has gotten on stage has grabbed it?!! Second this. I don't understand it either. I personally wouldn't be able to contain myself. I already have several ways figured out on how to sneak up from behind him unexpectedly. Lol. I've seen other artists do the same on tour...hands get really, really sweaty after a few minutes playing guitar under hot lights. I agree it does add to his overall "badass" stage presence though. A possible explanation, indeed. And it does look pretty badass like you said
Guest Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 And I'm wondering why no one who has gotten on stage has grabbed it?!! He might have sown it to the back of his trousers
lizziebix Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 He might have sown it to the back of his trousers I don't think so. He has many different colored ones that he wears with the same pair of jeans.
Guest Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 I don't think so. He has many different colored ones that he wears with the same pair of jeans. Well maybe he has lots of the same jeans, each with a different coloured handkerchief?
lizziebix Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Well maybe he has lots of the same jeans, each with a different coloured handkerchief? Um, no. Don't think that's the corect answer. But nice try!! But seriously, no one, that I've ever heard, has even tried to take it. What is up with that? It would certainly be the very best souvenir!

It does stem from the gay community, and there are a bunch of different meanings, more specifically with the color and which pocket you put it in. They posted a link to the site that "decodes" all of it, but I'm kind of too lazy to find it. xD Either way, I'm sure it's probably not meant to be taken that seriously.

But just have evolved into different subcultures. A few years back I've seen a lot of the 'hardcore/straight edge' people do it. But honestly I think he just does it for fun... no big really. It's kind of manly thing to do really. To show like 'Oh he sweats meaning he does labor jobs, making him man!' That's old school for ya. I think it was in MTV Driven they said something about that and why they were in Germany. Yeeah I just remember his Father say he was born in Germany and thought was all.. Does anyone know anything else about it?
Sara. Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Billie Joe threw out the handkerchief to the audience once, (he replaced it with a Hello Kitty t-shirt ) this happend at the very beginning of the show so the handkerchief is obviously not there for some functionable reasons, but it does look cool.

John told us that the Jason White account was fake, so I'm sure he would have told us when he found out Snoo was fake as well. Hmm I'm not sure. John could've just randomly got into a conversation with Snoo Cool (whoever it is) for fun, like he might with anyone he's friends with on there. Like, he could've been playing along with the conversation in a non-serious way, with both of them knowing it wasn't the real Snoo but carrying on talking just to talk about The Network. People often talk to these "fake" facebook people knowing full well they're fake just for fun. I could be wrong of course, but since Tre almost never uses his facebook page (and when he does he only writes the most quick, straightforward things and never gets into conversations), I just can't see him spending the time on another one.

O, interesting, didn't know that. He replaced it with a Hello Kitty t-shirt, lol. It wouldn't be very practical to use it for functional reasons either. It probably requires some skill to get it to fit in his pocket so nicely. Actually handkerchiefs started as a gang sign. But just have evolved into different subcultures. A few years back I've seen a lot of the 'hardcore/straight edge' people do it. But honestly I think he just does it for fun... no big really. It's kind of manly thing to do really.
