agrizotti Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 When I Come Around means the world to me, it was the first Green Day song I ever heard when I was really young. Couldn't stop crying the first time I saw them playing it live (and the other times as well ). Also Homecoming, Panic Song, Scattered and Novacaine (and many others, depending on the moment)
Kaddi. Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 ¿Viva La Gloria? means a lot to me because of various reasons. Let's just say it helped me through a really tough time of my life.
†...HAUSHINKA...† Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Practically all of them, in one way or the other. but 2 that are very close to em are no one knows and waiting
Countrygirl Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Poprocks and Coke, When it's Time, JOS, Dry Ice, Restless Heart Syndrome, Pulling Teeth, 21 Guns to name a few.
-Billiejoezee- Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Pulling teeth makes me wanna pull down my pants.
Sofouska Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 To be honest, every Green Day song means something very special to me, because I don't randomly listen to songs, I always pick the "right" song that suits every moment, so every songs brings back special memories in my head I've always listened to Waiting at the end and beginning of every era in my life. When something terrible or very life-changing let's say happened, I would listen to Waiting. And it's a very important song for me. Then there is Whatsername. Whatsername was kind of my role model, and when I listen to the song, it reminds me of various stuff and it makes me cry. And something a bit more personal, when I was in a car accident and sort of flashbacked, this song came in my head too. Then the entire 21st Century Breakdown is an album I really love, however it was released when my friend died, so every time I listen to it extremely "strong" and pretty painful memories come in my head, and Last Night On Earth, even though for the most fans it's a romantic love song that makes them think of their loves. for me, it represents the first time I was left all alone in my life and makes me sad. Are We The Waiting is a song that I really love, cause it reminds me of the first time I started being on the street, rebelling and realizing what was happening in the world around me. Anyways, all Green Day songs are extremely special to me and bring up many memories in my head. Other songs that really mean a lot to me are Uptight (as I 've always been told that my character is like this song), Walking Alone, Going To Pasalacqua, Westbound Sign, Panic Song (since I know how it is to have panic attacks), Warning, Wake Me Up When September Ends (always listened to it when sad and losing something), Before The Lobotomy, Letterbomb and last but not least, 21 Guns and Good Riddance, two songs that to be honest, I love but don't dare listen to cause I know that if I do I'll be crying for hours. So pretty much the most important songs for me.
xgirlcalledkillx Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 She, Waiting, American Idiot, Give Me Novocaine, East Jesus Nowhere.
jamesobxfan2296 Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 I listen to Longview alot because it fits my bored mood at times. Jesus of Suburbia really means something to me. I also like american idiot.
P3AC3MAK3R Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Are We The Waiting! When i saw them live i almost touched Billie and he was looking right at me and i could see his delicous green eyes <3
-Billiejoezee- Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Dominated Love Slave always makes me cry. sorry, but.... going to pasalacqua because the first time i heard it, billie played it for me.
alaniluau Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 J.A.R. means the world to me. It has to be one of the most eerily passionate songs the boys have ever performed. I tear up every time I hear it! And in Sacramento...
Sofouska Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Dominated Love Slave always makes me cry. Why? The kinky things or the fact that Tre gets hurt?
GreenRanger Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Why? The kinky things or the fact that Tre gets hurt? I just...this one time...I'd rather not talk about it. Horrible faux-memory repression aside, Whatsername gets stronger for me each day. There's just a particular girl who keeps becoming that girl for me more and more. In the song there's kind of this reflectiveness and towards the end it really gets in to self denial. It's like: I want to remember you so bad it hurts...whatever whatever whatever, it was a long time ago, I don't want any parts of you. So that song more and more...is the epitome of my rage and love.
littlegirl-of-suburbia Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Hmm maybe holiday gets me high (or the nearest sensation to it when you listen to music) 2000 lightyears away makes me do that silly in looove smile all by myself and coming clean make me laught But the first ever song I could ever relate to was boulevard of broken dreams and i think that that's one of the reason why Green day is my favorite band, I can always relate to the songs they play...
Minority_GD Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Jesus of Suburbia makes me happy, because it will always remind me of being on stage and playing guitar next to my heroes Scattered makes me kinda sad, because it reminds me of a person I really miss...
fadi_7 Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Haha I'm not , I guess we just like the same songs. That's good to hear though yaaaa it is good thing lol and my fave one from them is J.O.S too so this is great
LinziLetterbomb Posted March 20, 2011 Posted March 20, 2011 Poprocks and Coke (because it reminds me of my best friend) Good Riddance (Because it was the first Green Day song i ever heard) When It's Time (Just because) Misery (My boyfriend's favourite song, so it reminds me of him)
sarah? Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 paper lanterns. it's always been my favourite song, and the day i got to see it live in was just... beyond words. i dont know why, but it just makes me feel amazing whenever i hear it playing. and homecoming, because i just remember the pure shock and awe i felt the moment they started playing it in quebec city
David41275 Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Jesus Of Suburbia always reminds me of the first time I saw them live in Birmingham in the UK. I remember standing there and when the quiet part came on at the end: "I don't feel any shame...." I stood utterly transfixed and then suddenly: "Tales from another broken........ (BBBAAANNNNGGG) HOOOOOMMMMMEEEEEE!!!!" I got goosebumps because I never expected the pyro and the ferocity of the "I'm leaving, I'm leaving" that followed it knocked my shit in. When the song finished I stood open mouthed because I'd never experienced a moment like that at a concert in my entire life and I'd been to dozens at that point. Ironically, I just got goosebumps writing about it as well.... Isn't the power of music amazing.
