Ohhhhh, I always assumed he was saying "four" at the beginning. Ha, I've been wrong for 5 years. Go figure.

Fucking love this - anytime it fetches up on my player, it raises a smile. It's kind of brisk like a cold shower, and it's a superb piece of writing. Short as it is, it has everything - a vivid little picture-story that has humor and warm and a little pathos. Y'know how they say that short stories are the hardest things to write - and here's a little piece of perfection, delivered with the flick of a wrist and the thrum of a guitar. It's just great. :)

Whenever it comes on my shuffle, I repeat it at least three times. Its so catchy. I always wish it were longer.

Great choice! I love this song so much and it makes me immensely happy whenever it pops up on shuffle. I always thought it sounded like it could have been a Warning B-side: catchy and the storyline reminds me of a happy Misery.

Plus it's fun to play on the kazoo. :D

Such a funny little song! A really nice little amusing story, it has that acoustic folk-y sound like a proper folk tale. I love the name  and concept of the album it's from too, a whole album of loads of 30 second long songs is such a cool idea.

I've always thought of the Wilhelm Fink in question as being the one from Pinhead Gunpowder, with the rough and ready feel of the song. The Network's Fink seems like an entirely different character, who just happens to have a similar name :D

I have never heard this before

It's one of my favorite GD rarities.

fave lines:

~But considering our luck

We'll get busted by the cops

Instead of sex, we'll go to jail

Another lesson learned and failed~

Great choice! I remember when this one came out, I listened to the compilation a lot - as many bands on the disc is quite cool. A fun project by Fat Mike from NOFX, where he got 101 bands to make short songs.

More detailed information on the record here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Short_Music_For_Short_People

I think it's still in print and easily available through most online vendors (correct me if I'm wrong on this). It was released on vinyl as well, and I can imagine it must be quite a hard task to get the needle to the right spots of the record, haha.

I really recommend getting it, both since it has Billie Joe on it, and because it's overall a fun release :)
