The best way to meet Billie is if you wait outside the theater throughout the entire show. Me and my friend did 3 times last week and got barrier spots and autographs. I even got him to say happy birthday to me on camera. It was freezing one of the days too but I didnt care. Don't leave during the show or Good Riddance. Thats extremely rude. For those seeing the show try and hurry out of the theater as fast as you could. You'll still have a chance to be 3rd or 4th row back.

Yes, my first time was before the show when I caught him.

Yeah, I waited outside the entire show for the later show and that's how I got my second autograph. It's way too disrespectul to leave the show early.

Well I hope to meet him or get an autograph or whatever after the show, Dad's booking tickets for me later today, so hopefully my parents can be patient with me and let me stand outside the door. I'm also going to an evening performance, so he will have to come out eventually muahahaha

I already said it in the musical thread but I'm gonna mention it here too, since this is what this conversation is mostly about:

If you plan on leaving early, I understand, but do it quickly and quietly! There are going to be plenty of people there who want to see the musical all the way through.

When you're leaving, try to be courteous to others; don't block their view or talk too loudly. I say this because I saw it happen just a week ago, a group of people left during Homecoming to secure a place on the barricade outside. They took a long time getting out and were very loud too. The people to both sides of me had never even seen the musical and missed a good portion of Homecoming because of it. I was fortunate enough to had already seen the musical before- but the people beside me missed out, and I felt really bad for them. I left after Good Riddance (from balcony seating) and still ended up only three rows of people back from the barricade. It was close enough to reach a playbill to anyone you want an autograph from. (well, as long as you're not short) So just keep that in mind when you're making your move.

The first time when I went to see the show, me and my friend left immediately at the end of Good Riddance and there was so many people there.

My suggestion is to (if at all possible) go extremely early and wait outside during the show. If you're there for a matinee, hang around for after the evening show.

I went back the next night and me and a friend stood outside for a few hours before the show. We were right in front and he came around about forty minutes after the show ended.

I will do it then :woot: OMG YOU MADE ME SO HYPER NOW!! haha

It actually sounds like as if it was 100% sure to meet him if you just get to the barrier. Which will be easy, I'm practised :D

haha what does the pic look like I'm curious :P Naww not really he just signs a few thing on either side and goes into his car^^

But yeah to all people leaving early, do it fast and quite or just go on another day and wait ouside during the show!

I would not wait for him to come out when he doesn't stage door....I think it's disrespectful since the man is already stressed and mostly not in the mood...he just wants to get in and do his thing!

The same goes for when he's leaving...gosh I saw people screaming and running towards him in a mad dash, that's why he jumped in the police car...everyone probably heard about this!

I guess everyone has another opinion on that one, since most people going there are just going because they want a pic with Billie anyway

So taking a picture with Billie is hard to realize?

I went to the show a week ago. Right after Good Riddance, I bolted out of the theater. No joke. So, once I got outside there was a shit load of people but I managed to get front row and an autograph. So, it's totally possible right after the show. As for the picture, I'm gonna try and get that one next time I go in February since it's my birthday on the 19th. It's gonna be tough shit, but we'll see. But, yeah...the whole autograph thing isn't impossible at all.

I'd say we'll probably go down on the first day we get there to see about meeting him afterwards. We're not going to the show that night so we can hang around during it. But I'm not going down every single day just to freeze my ass off for hours just to try and meet him. We're going to be in New York City, plenty of other things to do. I feel lucky enough that I'm even able to see the 2 shows we're going to. Meeting or seeing Billie Joe afterwards would just be one hell of an added bonus.

But thanks so much for all the tips, guys! *writes in notepad furiously* :P

Very. He is behind a barrier and the crowd is pushing so he is just kind of walking along the crowd line, scribbling his name on playbills and pieces of paper. He doesn't even get to everyone because of course there are soooo many hands and so many playbills and so many people yelling and moaning, "Billie! Biliie!" I guess some people count this as meeting him, though.

You can get plenty of photos of him signing stuff as he walks along if you're in the front rows along the barrier, though.

I think the people who have managed to get a photo with him have happened along at exactly the right time when he was going into the theater before the show. Random and lucky, mostly! There are no barriers at that point and you can pose and have a friend snap the picture if he is willing.

I'm pretty sure I won't meet, or possibly even see, Billie after the musical. That's okay. I'm just so stoked about seeing in the St Jimmy role that that will be enough for me. (Obviously meeting him would be the end all - but so unlikely that I'm not going to get all worked up if it doesn't/won't happen!)

I am excited! I'm really hopeful to make him autograph my arm after the evening show...

Should I wait the ENTIRE show at the door or if it's ok to arrive like 30 minutes before? I read in another thread that security people were putting up the barricades like 20 minutes before the show ended.

So it sounds like its really hard to get an autograph on the upper leg. Thats where she is hoping for.I was planning on going three days. Just duno how much the whole trip gonna cost. But its so worth it to make her happy.

Crap, I wish I could meet him too. People make it seem such an easy thing to do in NYC.

You're so silly.

Are you talking about Security Eddie? I don't think I saw him in NYC when I was there last weekend at all. Keep in mind that I stayed away from the stage door altogether, though.

I guess sometimes he gets some time off.

Yes, I'm talking about "Frank" Eddie. Or Freddie as I prefer to call him. :shifty:

no, you don´t have to wait the entire show. I think 30 minutes are ok. I´ve met him after the show when I came out of the theatre. but for me 30 minutes are perfect

wish you luck to see him and get and autographed arm  !!!
