My parents, especially mum, love Green Day, so they both really support me being a fa.

They don't really care about the music and stuff, but i feel like they understand how much i love green day. They even let me go by myself to new york because they know how much it means to me.

That is really all i need. I don't need them to come with me to concerts or sing along to the song i play. All i need is that they understand that my passion is real.

My parents don't care about what music I listen to as long as I don't bug them about concerts.

My parents don´t care about what bands or music I lissten to.

But they think Green Day is just a phase.

I do tend to act like a misunderstood teen, and be all "Oh my parents just don't get how much they mean to me!!" and stuff, but when I think about it, that's not what it's like at all.

When my brother first asked for the album American Idiot, my dad was a bit iffy on the lyrics. He was only 10, and knew that I would want to listen to it too (I was 9). That was understandable, but he gave in :D

They've never stood in my way of seeing them live (within reason. Like, they were hardly going to let a 14 year old go abroad by herself) my dad even got them online for me, just to make sure I got them before they sold out.

A lot of the time when Green Day comes up in conversation, my mom would mention how she likes them. She told me once that the bands she listened to when she was my age, no one even knows them now. She seems impressed by Green Day, and happy that I like decent music. Sometimes, when I mention some news to do with Green Day, she tries to be enthusiastic and appear interested. It's kinda painful to watch her pretend, but at least she tries.

I remember when I got on stage with them, my brother had texted her about it, and when I got home, she hugged me and asked me all about it. Then suggested that I never wash that t-shirt again

My dad (willingly) saw them live with me and my brother twice (although he wasn't with me either time), and after the concert he said the following:

"Yeah, they were pretty good. Probably would have been better if I had known more of their songs though. Good show."

For the record, my dad NEVER comes out of a concert with a good thing to say.

So yeah, I guess I have the parental support. :D Either that or they've accepted that I'm not going to shake my love for them any day soon, and just decided to put up with it

My mom likes them. She even has a Green Day shirt

Can't remember if I've replied to this or not, but I figure it can't hurt to do it again :P

My parents are okay with Green Day. My dad flew me to Florida to see them for my 14th birthday and my mom drove me four hours to see them for my 18th.. they did listen to them before I did. But I don't think I would say either of them like Green Day. Then again, I don't think any sort of music has the same meaning to them as it does to me. I'll try to talk about a certain song and how good, sad, etc it is, and they don't really care. It's annoying to not be able to have a conversation about music with them because they don't get it..

But anyway, I guess I have their approval. I don't really need it, though

My dad's humming the guitar intro to American Idiot every time I leave the house with ear phones plugged in. But overall he likes Green Day, probably only because of my non-existing enthusiasm for ABBA though. :P

I start to really love Green Day when I was over 18 so my parents really didn't care about it also, when I driving and my mom in the car and I listening to Green Day my mom like "oh... that is a good song" it usally when I put the quiet songs.

My mom really support me, I mean without her, I wouldn´t be a Green Day fan, because I got it from her. I heard Dookie on my way to the kindergarten in her car and it was her idea to go to the GD concert and she asked me if I would like to see the musical. She really supports me and that´s very cool, because I can talk with her about them :happy:

My dad likes them too, but definitly not as much as I like them, for sure. He´s not a big fan, but he hears Green Day too.

I´m happy that my parents like Green Day too

My mom likes a fair amount of their songs although she is not a huge fan of what she sees as their over-useage of the word "fuck" My mom and I used to sing When I Come Around together in our old minivan, which is my first Green Day related memory...

My dad got more into them when he was subjected to hearing my little brother and sister and I play Green Day Rockband all summer. He even wanted to get lawn tickets for he and my mom for the concert my sister and I went to, but I told him we would have to drive separatly because of how early we would want to get their to stand in line. He didn't get the tickets...next time.

My parents like them, especially my mum as we both listen to the same kind of music. They both came to see them at Wembley Stadium and really enjoyed it!

My Mum even had American Idiot stuck in her head for a week and really liked watching AAF with me yesterday:)

Hmm my dad doesn't really know much about music but my mum is the one who got me into rock and punk music...

but she doesn't really know that I'm a big fan because she well i don't know...

My mum and dad are both Green Day fans not to the scale that I am though. My dad has been to both of the concerts I have been to.

I don't see why anyone could be ashamed to like Green Day.

My mum doesn't listen to music very often, but I think she likes ABBA or that kind of stuff...

My father really likes them because of me :P I watched AAF with him with the volume turned on a very high level and he enjoyed it. And I always tell him if there are GD news like ''Billie Joe just got attacked by a pigeon'' :P He calls me a freak all the time when I'm freaking out because of AAF but he always smiles while saying it, and he is whistling GD songs all the time :)

My dad's girlfriend always asks me to turn the volume a bit down when I listen to GD in my room, but she kinda likes their music and kept asking me while watching AAF with my father and me: 'Which song is about his father?' And I was like: 'WMUWSE is just on the CD, but it's on BIAB too'

My dad's a classic rocker at heart so he's more into the Eagles and Boston and stuff, but he does play American Idiot and Basket Case on occasion, and thinks its pretty cool that I'm into Green Day. My mom (who up until a week ago I thought only liked smooth jazz until I caught her listening to Motley Crue of all things O_o) also thinks Green Day is pretty rocking :P

My parents are fine with me listening to Green Day! My mom says she just gets a headache when listening to them but she doesn't really care if we listen to them. I caught my dad listening to GD in the car once...he used the excuse that "they were in the cd player" yeah right dad, yeah right.

Parents LOVE them. They go with me to almost every green day gig/related thing. I'm lucky.

My parents like them to a certian extent. They like a bit of everything but what really gets me is they like todays pop music better. But whatever. My dad doesn't understand why I love them so much and I can't try to explain how much their music means to me. They probably think it will wear off some time in the future. Yeah when I'm dead! And even then I'll still be listening to them.

My parents thought I was crazy when I really started to get into the band.

They liked the popular songs at the time, but didn't really understand my obsession and love for them.

But then I took my dad to see American Idiot in Berkeley and he finally understood.

My mom gradually started to listen to them more and now she adores them.

They'll put a boom box in your coffin.

My mom couldn't care less. I mean, I really think it's impossible. My dad is a casual Green Day fan, although his tirade against mainstream music gets in the way of it sometimes.
