Jaymee!! Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I don't think my parents really care that I'm a fan of them or not. Well, I'm sure they would care if I for some reason stopped being a fan (but they don't have to worry because that will never happen) but yeah. It's really nothing to them.

I think she also believes that they're the reason for my political views and that they're a bad influence cuz they did drugs and stuff. My dad on the other hand likes them.

I find it funny how every time she listens to their music she hums pretending that she knows the lyrics We even started saving money together for next tour

They know stuff from American Idiot best, but they like some of the older songs I play constantly. They've been to 3 of their concerts with me, and took me to American Idiot the musical on my birthday [for my 2nd time...I've seen it 5 times so far.] My dad is a huge music buff, and he ALWAYS talks about how great he thought their concerts were, always saying how he's impressed with how much energy Billie always has.

She really disliked them, but eventually she atleast would listen to 21st Century Breakdown with me. Now, she has been converted as well as my cousin and my bestfriend.

My mom actually won a trip fo me and her to go to WA to see Green Day since I'm not 21 yet and could not try to win. My dad like to mess with me and say Green Day sucks or ewww whos that guy with the black hair on TV or who's that band thats playing, but he really does like them he even saw the in concert and said they are really good live and cool too. My mom said the best performers are Green Day. She even sat outside all day in AZ with my sisters and I to wait in line for the concert. They also remember when Dookie came out and really likes it.

heyohbilliejoe Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 ahahaha... well... my mums the only one in the family who doesn't like green day even though my brother and my dad usually uses the 'you're obsessed thing' aimed at me but they don't mind too much my mum - she doesn't dislike them hugely but if she had her way i wouldn't be a fan of green day she's quite against the smoking/drugs thing and has a HUGE TATTOO COMPLEX - its actually kinda funny saying she'd (and i quote) "completely disown" me if i got one.
Cym Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 My mum really likes Green Day, and she's always asking when their next concert is.. it's awesome too, because it's like a family vacation whenever there's a Green Day concert in town I had a Kerplunk t-shirt that got too small for me, and she asked if she could have it and when I said yes, she ran up and hugged me she couldn't come with me and my sister to the last show though, because she went to an arts show in NYC with my uncles, but she says she wore her Kerplunk shirt the day of the show, and I called her during the concert and Billie saw and played right into the phone at one point

My mom just disapproves of music in general ( ) and doesn't even let me buy their CDs. And don't get me started on the swearing. Thank God she doesn't ask to listen to their songs, or else I'd be screwed. As for my dad, he's a bit more aware of Green Day and likes them a lot less. Thank God he doesn't live with us or I'd be even more screwed. He told me "don't listen to music with electric instruments in it."

My dad doesn't think much of the music. He thinks its too simple. My Mum is okay with it. She likes 21 Guns. And WMUWSE. Otherwise, my little sister like them. I taught her to like them as soon as she got interested in music, and I have managed to steer her away from the Disney Channel crap and Justin Bieber shit.
annimaria Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 My mum, being the awesomely awesome person she is, really likes Green Day, though she can't tell their songs apart, only recognizes American Idiot But she's said that Green Day is her favourite band and after she saw them live last June she's been really excited about them. She's really supportive and always loans me money if I don't have any and really want something music-related.

But Idc what they think, as they still buy me merch and we all went to the Wembley concert for my dad's birthday (it was the day before, lucky -.-)
