I have paid for every single of their records, as well as many documentaries, live records and a couple of records from their side projects. But I must admit that before I got a fan I downloaded a few of their songs.

I've paid for all of their albums and more ;)

I bought 21st Century Breakdown, Shenanigans, Kerplunk, and 1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours.

I received Dookie, American Idiot, and Bullet in a Bible as gifts.

I got Insomniac, Nimrod, and Warning at the library and burned them onto discs.

I'd never download Green Day illegally. They're good enough to spend money on.

I buy all of them. I've only gotten a few as gifts anyway. But for Insomniac, my uncle gave me a cd that he downloaded for free, but since there was no case for it, it got misplaced somehow, so I ended up buying it anyway

When I first became a fan, I went out and bought each of the CDs one at a time over the period of about two months. The only exception was Dookie (my second album) which my brother gave to me.

Mmm... I don't believe in illegal download, especially if it's about Green Day. I'm not saying that I don't do that, because I do  hehe, but only with certain songs of other artists.

Anyway, yes, I personally paid for all my beloved Green Day albums :) Except for Dookie and Warning, my sister buy me those.

OH-OH With this you remind me that I have to save money for Awesome As Fuck! I can hardly wait!

so the first green day songs i ever had were all those from american idiot and i illegally downloaded them.

a little later when 21st CB came out, i got all those tracks from a friend's friend.

then, i went to my first green day show and illegally wonloaded all the songs they played.

but THEN, i bought every record as physical CD because i'm a fan and i liked to have those.

so i paid for every album i think. including FBHT stuff which i also first had as illegal download and then

as a physical CD which i paid for.

Every single frickin one of them :D And proud of it.

I bought them all on cd/dvd format, but when I was downloading single songs I bought them off itunes :P

All of them. Even when I had the free FBHT download, I bought the actual CD after. Idk, I like to have a physical copy of things I really like, I never really bought into this whole downloading thing =/

All of them amazingly.

Plus I just need the cases in my room

I am the biggest advocate for downloading music "illegally"... sorry, but I am not getting suckered into buying some trash only to find out that they lured me in with one catchy hook. That doesn't make you a good artist, it makes you whore. I say.. go out and download EVERYTHING... however, I also feel that if you find yourself listening to it.. 2, 3, 4 weeks on.. and you're still jamming to it.. you should pay for it. I've walked in with albums still shrink wrapped and I didn't end up opening them for months (at some point just getting curious about album inlays, etc) and my wife couldn't understand why I'd buy an album she knew I already had and then never open it. Well, I download it, find out that the band actually did something damn good, then I pay them for it. I'd rather go see them live and give them money that way in hopes that the band itself gets the money, but in reality I can't always do that so I buy there vinyl atleast.

Green Day.. there is no question of if I bought the album, it's a question of how many times have I purchased it. I remember when American Idiot was first released I bought the special edition of the cd, the single for AI CD1, the single CD2, the vinyl for the AI single, and the vinyl for the album. I've since bought WMUWSE vinyl single, JOS vinyl single, JOS DVD promo, BOBD vinyl single, maybe more. But, that's just because I love their stuff. You can take someone like Eminem where I'm a dedicated fan, will buy the album without hearing it (considering I've honestly never been disappointed with a single album since the day he released the Slim Shady EP), but I won't go out and buy all those singles. One record and I'm good. Weezer, same thing. Living End.. there are always a few bands I don't have to wonder. But, they do deserve their due if you like the album. I have plenty I haven't paid for, but I could also delete it and never miss it. They won't get my money.

Bought all the physical albums.

illegally downloading/stealing Green Day albums/merch is like blasphemy :o

Posted

I have all the physical copies so I've paid for all of them :)

Bought all of them as CD's. :) When it comes to Green Day's music, I think it's worth it to not illegally download.

I got a couple of them as birthday/random presents, and I bought the rest of the albums myself. So..

1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours, Kerplunk, Insomniac, Nimrod, Warning, Shenanigans, and 21st Century Breakdown.

Since these are related to Green Day: I also bought both versions of the AI cast record (the full thing, and the one with just selections), Stop, Drop and Roll (even though I already downloaded the 6 free songs from their Myspace), and Money Money 2020.

I just have to have physical copies or their records!

all of them. it's impossible to download the whole album or rare songs with this slow net connection.

I actually have multiple copies of some if you count having the lps as well. And I bought the special edition 21CB yesterday so now have 3 of it

Posted

I bought all of them. Physical CD from a store.

Shame on you if you've downloaded them!! Fo'shame!!

Posted

All of them, even I've got american idiot, 21St CB and 1039 sosh twice

Posted

I've bought them all, now I'm in the hunt for singles :runaround:

Paid for all of them ... I didn't download any of of them before I bought them. That's why 2004 to 2006 was so much fun music wise; I had a lot of albums to catch up on. :)

But a few were gifts, a few were second hand, etc.

Well, I first bough American Idiot way back when. Then my Mom got me 21st Century Breakdown the day it came out. And later that summer for my birthday, my cousin Natalie who was working at Warner Bros. at the time sent me Insomniac, Bullet in a Bible, Warning, and 21st Century Breakdown (she didn't know I had that already.) Later on I bought Dookie at Hot Topic and I was able to give Best Buy my other copy of 21stCB and I exchanged for Kerplunk. I picked up 1,039\Smooth at that Best Buy as well once I saw it later on. And I bought the bonus tracks and unreleased stuff on that Green Day bundle on iTunes and got some of the other unreleased or miscellaneous stuff on GDA\GDC.

All of them, the only songs I haven't paid for are a couple of live songs from the shows I went to that I obviously wasn't ever going to get on CD. I'm the kind of person who feels bad buying a CD from ebay just because the money doesn't go to the artist

I don't even like buying from iTunes. It's not the same as going to the shop and buying the CD.

I downloaded all their albums illegally when I first got into them, because cd's are pretty expensive here and it's not like I had a job, because I was like, 13. I saved money my mom used to give me for school and whatnot, and now I've got all their albums. I'm pretty sure I paid for all of them, but it was a long time ago, so one or two might have been presents.
