I probably don't look like much of a Green Day fan right now.. It's just that those songs are the ones I usually skip. Not a big fan of those ones.

For me it's Tigh Wad Hill and Westbound Sign. And actually I think that 21 Guns is pretty boring. I like the live version, kinda, and the lyrics is amazing but... nah...

deletethisaccount Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 These are the only Green Day songs I don't like: from 39/smooth: Disappearing Boy, from Dookie: Sassafras Roots, When I Come Around, Emenius Sleepus, Walking Contradiction, from Nimrod: Nice Guys Finish Last, All The Time, Good Riddance, Prosthetic Head, from Warning: Waiting from American Idiot: She's a Rebel, Extraordinary Girl, Whatsername, from 21st Century Breakdown: Know Your Enemy, Murder City, ¿Viva La Gloria? (Little Girl), Horseshoes And Hand grenades, 21 Guns, See The Light. If you wanna know why, (there's no need to read this, really, but in case you actually care for some reason) Disappearing Boy's vocal melody is what kills the song. During the verse, when his voice jumps up in pitch out of nowhere, and then Mike comes in with an unfitting harmony. The chorus is completely boring too. Sassafras Roots is just too repetitive. I love the lyrics to When I Come Around, but it's too repetitive for me. That chord progression has been abused by way too many bands. Emenius Sleepus just sounds like they were trying to write a song to fill up space. Walking Contradiction is just boring, but I like the lyrics. The only reason why I hate Nice Guys Finish Last is because I've heard it way too much. All The Time just sounds like another filler track. Good Riddance and Prosthetic Head are too boring for me. Waiting is boring. There are a few lines that I like though. She's a Rebel feels rushed compared to all the other songs on American idiot. Extraordinary Girl has a nice melody, but it eventually get's repetitive and I hate the lyrics. Whatsername is just boring. Know Your Enemy makes me think "Wow, were you even trying when you wrote this song?" I tried to like Murder City, but I can't. ¿Viva La Gloria? (Little Girl) was alright at the beginning. But the line "Run away from the river to the street" is a stupid lyric. The only part of that song I can really like is the riff after each chorus. I hate the lyrics to Horseshoes And Hand grenades. I find the verses in 21 Guns to be boring. I like the chorus because of the falsetto when he says "guns". But when they play live, Billie Joe is just like "NO, I have to belt this out!" and it ruins the song for me. The American Idiot Cast killed the song for me as well. See The Light was just completely unnecessary. They could of ended the album with one of the best songs, American Eulogy, but no. They had to put a song that's as dull and unfitting as See The Light. I like every other Green Day song. There may be a few on Shenanigans I don't like, but I haven't listened to that album very much.

I didn't like Basket Case before (i think that it's because i saw the video for the first time when i was 6 and got freaked out by the masks the people wear) but for a few months it's been growing on me ( then there's going to pasalacqua i find hit and miss (sorry to all the GDcers who love it)
