DecanoLP Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 The second video was pretty interesting to watch I love how Billie sang a part of Peacemaker in Clarkston this year during the bridge of Holiday. Here's avideo of it: Anyway, not a big fan of this song, but it's okay
dawn71 Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 I love this song it is my ring tone and one of my ringback tones too....
in_your_face Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Just love it!! once this song was on my head for a loong time. but now i'm over it.
elisa Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Great choice! This is such an interesting song, one of my favorites from the album. Love the way Billie joe played with words in the lyrics, they offer such a imagery. I wish they would have added it to their setlist. hope they will next tour. As for the lyrics, i love the 'death to the girl at the end of the serenade'. It has a nice sound and i like the image i get out of it. same thing for 'the orgasm, a spasm of love and hate', like J'net has already pointed out. I dig Billie's voice in this song a lot. not to mention how catchy and good the melody of the song itself is. I love how they experimented with instruments and arrangements.
gloria123 Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 I love this song. I like how it has a different sound then most of the album so it stands out from the rest. Also once you listen to it you can't stop and it'll get into your head Lyric/phrase: i drink from a well of rage
sampy Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Finally, Peacemaker! Ah god I love this song, I've loved it from the first time I heard it. It's really one of the greatest tracks from 21st Century Breakdown, and why not one of the best Green Day songs. It's just so different from any other songs, and the melody is catchy as hell! Every time I hear this song makes me just jamming around. Really great song and the lyrics are also genius. My favorite line is: "Well now the caretaker’s the undertaker, Now I’m gonna go out and get the peacemaker. This is the neo St. Valentines Massacre". Last year it got really really great radio time here in Finland on the channel called Radio Rock. It was one of the most played songs for many months. It was like a single for them y'know. This year it made its way into the compilation cd called "Radio Rockin Sahatuimmat" which includes year's greatest and most played songs from that radio channel! I think that's really cool.
Smoothed Out Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 I didn't like it when I first heard it, until I started to learn the tune of it on piano and I completely fell in love with it and it's lyrics.
Cym Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 I love Billie's vocals in this song! This was one of my first favorites off the album, I didn't listen to the songs in order >_<
Anja Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 I remember hearing it for the first time at the Independent and I was like "wow, this is so different but so cool". I love this song, the vibe it has, the lyrics, the pace of the melody. It shows one of a many sites Green Day has!
Pedestrian9394 Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 I have a hard time picking a favorite song off of 21CBD, but this song is always up there. I like that it has a softer sound. For some reason, the whole thing really works for me, lyrically and instrumentally.
-Billiejoezee- Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 This is my favorite off of 21sr CB. It makes me wanna dance! I also love how green day experimented with a strings quadret. It's actually one of my favorite (and hardest ) songs to play on my viola.
Isabel Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 A lot of people seem to compare this song to Misery but I don't think it sounds anything like it, Misery is one of my least favourite songs and Peacemaker is one of my all time favourites...I would do anything to hear this live. AMAZING. My brother once tried to ban me from listening to it because apparently I played it too often and his room is next to mine and he got sick of it. He said it was a 'goofy' song. p.s.I understand the Mexican/Middle Eastern sound to it, but I laughed when Billie Joe referred to it as sounding like an Irish folk hym, I didn't get that at all from it.
Metanoia Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 onr.kick-ass.song. one of my absolute favorites for ever!!! plus inspiration for my username ^^
St. Vicky Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 great song!!! It makes me dance. hey hey !!

Burnout98 Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 One of the standouts to me in 21st Century Breakdown! Hey Hey! Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Awesome song!
insomniaticnimrod Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 omfg i love this song. the sound, the lyrics, just everything about it . Heather! Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 This one stood out for me when I first listened to 21CB. Love the way Billie rolls his R's in "serenade" at the end.
spark in the night Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 This one stood out for me when I first listened to 21CB. me too the part that stuck out to me most was "killjoy from Detroit" for obvs. reasons and the music too, it's so different, it's one of a kind in terms of Green Day melodies. ( I don't even think it compares to Misery because I totally had a different feeling)
Margo 39 smooth Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I really like this song and how different it is from the rest of they're music. It shows that they're not scared to do anything different. And am i the only one who thinks this song is kinda hispanic-ish sounding....? idk "Hey hey! hey hey hey hey hey" man thats awesome
spark in the night Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 And am i the only one who thinks this song is kinda hispanic-ish sounding....? idk I definitely imagine gypseys around a bonfire...or Argentinian gauchos
