As much as I would love to know I prefer not knowing at all and just wait and see what direction they've gone with. All in all, I know it's gonna be an awesome album which I'm probably no doubt going to love...

Like Billie mentioned he wanted to do sometime in the future, in an interview in South America. That's definitely something I got excited about. But whatever it is I will love it!

Anyway, Green Day style, is the best style to follow a direction.

Green Day just ain't Green Day when you can't follow Mike's bass threads independently through the music, like you easily could on Insomniac and earlier. Burying them in the mix like Butch did on 21CB hurt the overall sound. I couldn't agree more. I really don't care about the direction, as you said: surprise me. But I totally miss Mike's basslines; bringing them back and stripping down the production a bit (also as far as Billie's singing goes) seem to me the most important points. And as to the musical direction, as long as they don't lose their Green Day vibe, that special thing that sets them apart from anybody else, why not delve into some reggae or jazz or swing?

Green Day were never really very 'aggressive' maybe on Insomniac but that was hardly "the Green Day that they started with." Besides wouldn't that be going backwards rather than forwards? Also if either Jason W, Freese or Jeff aren't there for the next tour I'm going to be pissed.
