HeißblütigerPinguin Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Love that song! One of my favourites! Btw, do you know Florence Welch's cover of it?
DecanoLP Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Great song. Simple but great. The solo might be one of the best they have written so far. Definately a live song, I love the transition into Welcome To Paradise they usually do. Here's an amazing video of it with a great moshpit
ANJI Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Love love love this song! I saw the video on TV a couple of days ago after a long time! Amazing

E!!i Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Odly, the first image that pops in my head when I hear this song: the hands-in-the-pants thing Billie Joe used to do. A shame he didn't do it on the 21CB tour my first thought too :eyebrow: and yeah pity he didn't do that at the concerts I've been to And this song counts to my fav songs in every case!!! Fuckin' love it! Love to listen to it in the car or at every other place!
radioactive Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Hitchin' A Ride is awesome, especially live
E!!i Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 the song is just awesome as fuck no even more awesome than fuck :eyebrow:

Margo 39 smooth Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 fucking looove this song. and its super fun on the guitar. This song actually got one of my friends into Green Day, she texted me and was like "This song is so pump ass!" (we use that term alot now...)
Katarina. Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 A SONG OFF NIMROD I love Hitchin' a Ride, one of my favorites from that album. The live version is so good, whenever I listen to this song, I remember seeing Green Day live and hearing this song. Ah, good times. It makes me want to go crazy every time! Haha.
ConfirmPassword Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 I love this song so much!!!! Special live Listen to it right now Love the bass!!!
Smoothed Out Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 omg that's weird, I've just been listening to that and thinking about what the lyrics mean and how similar it is to On the Wagon haha I love it, and the music video...but best of all, when it's played live
GDJonny Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Epic Song, really pinned up Nimrod for me. Also, such a great song live!
Uva Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 I like this video but I listen to this song not so often as I used to) may be my interest will come back because "Hitchin' a ride" really deserves attention. I can believe that Billie wrote it when he was so young it's amazing!
21st century idiot Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Finally one of my favorite is pick
greendaytone Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Great choice. Looking forward to discussing this one on the podcast later This song has been a really integral part of Green Day's live show for the last decade or so. It's the part of the set where Billie Joe really hands it over the the audience to get the energy up, and get ready' to go crazy.
namikaze Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 I freaking love this song. It's one of the few I can actually play on bass. Not to mention it's murder on expert difficulty in GDRB.
Heather! Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 I can't believe I didn't like this song when I first started listening to Green Day. Its one of my all-time favourites now. always great live!
justcause Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Fucking beautiful song - so dark and full of the insidious voice of addiction, so fucking tight musically, all the tension building to the big unleash of that banshee-wailing, call-and-response solo that's so fucking shit-hot. Fun as it is live, I prefer the studio version, where the song gets to have its way, completely.
