AndrewW91 Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 I heard a FBHT song on the local classic rock station back when the album first came out. I can't remember what song it was though. My mom says they play King For A Day all the time on the radio, but I've yet to hear it.
Holly Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 About three or four years ago I was in my friend's car on the way to a theme park and Basket Case came on the radio, I seriously freaked out My local radio station only ever plays WMUWSE, I probably hear it atleast once a month. They very occasionally play BOBD and I once heard When Its Time but only when it was just released. I feel like writing to them and saying that the band do actually have more songs.. Next time I hear WMUWSE I think I'll drop them an email
Rachel Nimrod Armstrong Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 I heard Poprocks And Coke a couple of months back..i was soo pleased to hear it cause that song dosent et played alot sooo yay!!!
Zelda Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I rarely listen to the radio (with the exception of the local light rock station) because the same shit is played over and over every single fucking day. But I have heard KYE, 21 Guns (normal and cast recording w/ Billie Joe), American Idiot (cast recording), JOS (cast recording, but edited to make it shorter), Good Riddance, When I Come Around, and I recall hearing WMUWSE a few years ago, but I wasn't a fan then. If only I had paid attention to the song at that time.
Laura! Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Last year when the album first came out I heard Horseshoes and Handgrenades, Static Age and Murder City on Alt Nation on Sirius XM.
in_your_face Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 nah..i haven't heard any green day songs on the radio. i hardly listen to radio these days.
Burnout98 Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Jesus....down here in Australia, i hardly hear any Green Day songs on the radio.. The few i've heard once or twice have been: Know Your Enemy Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) American Idiot 21st Century Breakdown I dont think i've never heard a green Day song on the radio that was made before American Idiot. The onlysong that has continuous airplay in Australia is 21 Guns.
YehItsRyan Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I've heard Macy's Day Parade but I hardly hear any Green Day on the radio.
Polly1987 Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Are we the Waiting! I don't listen to the radio very often.
warning11945 Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 If FBHT counts I've heard Mother Mary on the radio before, but other than that green day is on all the time here.
dawn71 Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I use to hear a lot of songs from Kerplunk about 16 yrs ago, but most recently the oldest/rarest Green Day song I've heard on the radio is "Nice Guys Finish Last" and that was a few weeks ago at about 3 o'clock in the morning. It kind of took me by surprise when it came on the radio. It had been a while since they I had heard anything on the radio that was pre-American Idiot. I was happy to hear NGFL still being played on the radio.
Isabel Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I sent a text in to Phantom FM years ago on Tre's birthday asking them to play something and they played Redundant! Was fairly shocked.
st.idiot Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 it pisses me off because they always play the same old shit on radio. but if i remember correctly i think i heard macy's day parade once
deadair Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 I'm didn't hear this personally on the radio, but my mom claimed she heard "J.A.R." on the radio right before she picked me up one time. I was so bummed out because I've never heard a rare Green Day song on the radio.
Little Girl Little One Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 Well, I don't really know what counts as rare since I pretty much never listen to the radio of my own accord, but the other day during my fitness class for school, EJN came on! The second I heard those first chords, I shrieked "GREEN DAY!! " but of course, halfway through the song, the stupid kids in my class changed the station to some pop shit. I was OUTRAGED.
fatherotti Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 I Fought The Law.....besides that I usually never hear any other bsides or anything before Dookie........ the cool thing about one of the Radio stations over here is that they play uncensored....so whenever I hear Holiday it actually says "Fags"....which is pretty cool because its quite ridiculous whenever they censor
ANJI Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 I heard When Its Time once when i was in the car...turned up the volume too
green day climber Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Well, I don't really know what counts as rare since I pretty much never listen to the radio of my own accord, but the other day during my fitness class for school, EJN came on! I was OUTRAGED. you shoulda forced them to change it back!!!!! i woulda been like "no. we're listening to green day."
blueboy Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 The rarest was The Grouch, a few years ago. I've also heard classics like When I Come Around, Basket Case, She, Welcome To Paradise, etc.
Ilda_25 Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Last August, I heard one GD's song on the radio that it wasn't from 21CB. And the broadcasters were talking that it was a new song... And I found yesterday that that song might have been "When it's time", released this year. Anyway, it's simply perfect *.*
JohannaRaeRamone. Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 I randomly heard Geek Stink Breath on Chicago's radio station Q101 a couple of months ago. I was so excited!!! I've never heard that played on the radio before and I went crazy. I was in a car filled with my friends and they were all laughing at me. Whoah, Q101 played that? I wouldve flipped, too! All I usually hear are 21 Guns, Holiday, WMUWSE, BOBD, I hardly even hear American Idiot, and gladly Basket Case and When I Come Around get play. It boggles my mind the stuff you guys have heard on the air!

They played Last of the American Girls quite a bit, but when I heard Geek Stink Breath on Q101 I went crazy, haha.
