DecanoLP Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I usually don't listen to radio and I've never heard any rare songs so far... Only American Idiot, Know Your Enemy, Last Of The American Girls and 21 Guns.
Harriet Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I only ever listen to Radio 1 and they never play Green Day. On the rare occasions they do it's Know Your Enemy. I did hear them play Mother Mary a couple of times and I freaked out. They didn't know it was Green Day yet so I had to text in and tell them who they really were
minorityxdisturbed Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Brain Stew. It was weird becouse that radio only plays Dookie and American Idiot stuff.
xjernpqvrnbfv Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Not really rare, but I heard When I come Around a couple weeks ago on the radio. Weird, they usually only play 21 guns.
Sanity Loan Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I was shocked when I turned on Sirius Radio and hears Jesus of Suburbia, the whole 9 minutes. Yeah, AltNation plays it a lot which is fucking awesome
jtdscape Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I have heard Brain Stew and Jaded played together on 1019 RXP a few times.
Sanity Loan Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I once heard the remix of Blvd of Broken Dreams & Wonderwall on the radio, other than that, I don't really listen to the radio Yeah I heard that once before as well... on a station that mainly only plays hip-pop/rap and some pop.... it was strange (and no, I was not listening to the channel... I was browsing through all of them )
DorkWithAFork Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I swear I heard Peacemaker once. I think it was around the time that 21CB just came out and this station that played Green Day a lot was playing songs from their new album.
Mari91 Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I have heard Brain Stew and Jaded played together on 1019 RXP a few times. my favorite radio station I've heard on that station i've heard NGFL, Stuck with Me and JAR. Also the AI musical version of BOBD but other than that its the usual Longview, When I Come Around, Basket Case, American Idiot etc
Comrade Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Deadbeat Holiday on a small online Radio Station.
AnnA™ Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I might be wrong, but I think I heard Jesus of Suburbia once. They didn't play it for 9 minutes though. The only songs I've ever heard on the radio are Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Holiday, Wake Me Up When September Ends, Know Your Enemy and 21 Guns. I rarely listen to the radio though.
Katarina. Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 The whole Bullet in a Bible record.. And didn't we hear Scattered with the Rockoff? Anyway, I'm sure there were a few rare Green Day songs in that list. Edit: yeah, I just checked, and GDC list for the Rockoff included Scattered, Welcome to Paradise, Going to Pasalacqua, Letterbomb and Christie Road. Good times
Jaymee!! Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I'm surprised that JOS is considered 'rare' to you guys. When AI was out and it was released as a single, it was played ALL the time. The whole 9 minutes. Yeah sure now, not so much. The most commonly played ones are Basketcase, Longview or Brainstew. WMUWSE every once and a while, but when I heard Holiday a few days ago I was genuinely surprised. I hadn't heard it on the radio since the AI era.
Clayish Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Oh yeah, Stop, Drop, and Roll on a Garage Rock station on Sirius Radio
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 When I'm only counting normal radio (so no specific internet radio stations or specials like the Rockoff or when some a radio station did a Green Day special, stuff like that hardly counts imo), every Green Day song is rare The only Green Day songs I've heard on the radio are Holiday, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Wake Me Up When September Ends, American Idiot, Know Your Enemy, maybe 21 Guns?, Good Riddance, and Basket Case. And maybe When I Come Around, but I'm not sure. Either way, I count every Green Day song rare and on the other hand, it's all well-known singles so it's not really 'rare' at all, but I suppose that either Basket Case or WICA is the rarest.
XxRedundantCastaway86xX Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 SERIOUSLY?! Haha yup. I was in my friends car changing through the radio stations a few months ago and It was on. The friend I was with loves Green Day too so we both flipped haha. It was awesome. No way!!!!! Haha yeah, no lie, it was sweet
Ilda_25 Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Here in my country, I think I only listen on the radio to: Boulevard of Broken Dreams Holiday Wake me up when September ends 21 Guns :/

They only seem to play AI singles Apart from the absolute radio playlist, the rarest I've heard was Church on Sunday on my local radio station not so long ago.
HeißblütigerPinguin Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I only listen to radio when I'm on a long road trip and the only Green Day song I came across was Last of the American Girls. Also, do you know when you're in a plane and they have these fake radiostations? Well, on my flight back from or to America I ended up listening to those and they played LOTAG, made me happy although it was in the pop station instead of the rock one.
BadgerLALA Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Green Day is very rare on the radio here (at least the two big music ones) But when I do hear GD I often hear BOBD or 21 Guns. One rare time I heard When I come around. I was like: WOO.
Smoothed Out Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Lights Out!!!! K! played it when GD were in the spotlight one week and one thing they do is play a B-Side of the band whoever's in the spotlight
Jenny95 Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Green Day is very rare on the radio here (at least the two big music ones) But when I do hear GD I often hear BOBD or 21 Guns. One rare time I heard When I come around. I was like: WOO. Same here they usually just play the last single ,so right now LOTAG, but a month ago or so I was really when they played Good Riddance but there's also another radiostation? that normaly plays "older songs" -not the new Lady Gaga songs like too many radios play - and they sometimes play Longview,American Idiot ,Basket Case...
