Mar Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 But they're not saying it's okay for kids to get drunk. They're adult men and they make their own choises. I understand your point but really, I don't think they should stop drinking in order to be good role models. I think Billie sounded a bit like he was just joking. (At least exaggerating, because I don't think they seem to be very drunk during most shows.) Maybe he was just fed up with stupid interviewers and wanted to talk about booze. Idk. Exactly. I don't think he's condoning drinking, just saying it works for him/them. As long as they take care of themselves, I'm cool. [/mom moment]
PanicAttack! Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Now, to the issue of being rolemodels. Small kids should not drink alcohol for two reasons, they might not be mature enough to control it, they are more vulnerable to long lasting and permanent damage of the body. THAT SAID, alcohol is not a bad thing, i adore Green Day for being open about how they think pot should be legal, and admitting to contaminate alcohol before shows. Everyone over a certain age, now talking everyone old enough to think for themself, should be free to do whatever they want. Yes, alcohol is not healthy in large doses, thats a consequence. The good times, and the free spirit is the benefits. There is nothing wrong with that. Where i'm from (Denmark) we're very liberal about these things. The minimum age for alcohol purchase is 16, but thats a rule for the stores, not the kid. If a 13 year old get a hold of alcohol, nothing is to stop him/her. And just to mention a few other: The sexual minor-age is 15, and purchase of tobacco is 18. I think that's how it should be in other places too. But even most, i thing that 21 is waaay too high, it doesn't make any sense. Don't know if this is kinda off the topic, but it leads up to a good discussion Ps. I truly cherish the ideals of this fake religion called Lushotology, not because it's cool to follow Green Day in whatever they do, but because it stands for my ideals
fadi_7 Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I could have swore Billie said that he didn't like drinking a lot before shows because he is afraid of forgetting the lyrics. maybe he meant not to get drunk just one cup or one battle
