Rage and Lillies Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I doubt the parents who brought their six-year-olds out to watch the show would much appreciate hearing the cast scream about "the subliminal mind-fuck America". Althought that'd be hilarious and a very Green Day-ish thing to do. XD
plaid ducky Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 According to Tumblr (and basing on Esper's tweet), the cast will be performing Good Riddance. However, based on Aspen's tweet to me, neither her or Tony will be performing.

plaid ducky Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 I signed up for that but I haven't gotten any e-mails. Not even in the spam folder.
ScreamsInSilence815 Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 There will be videos of this up after, right? I want to see it but want to sleep in tomorrow, too, so...yeah.
Vrock09 Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 I'm attempting to wake up early for this I just hope they don't play Letterbomb, I love their version, I would just love to hear something different.
Vrock09 Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 I just saw them practicing I didn't get to hear it cus I was half asleep and had my tv on low, but they looked good
plaid ducky Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 According to the cast, they'll be performing around 9:15 on NBC.According to the cast, they'll be performing around 9:15 on NBC.
Trina Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Is there any possibility it'll be shown anywhere besides NBC? I don't get it here in Ireland. We have CNBC though. Fox News & CNN, etc. Even a little clip?
Stormy Haze Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 I hope someone records this... I'd like to see it
xjernpqvrnbfv Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 That's gonna be awesome, I just hope that someone records it!
Vrock09 Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Hahaha, John and his stance at the end It was good, short, Memphis got longer..
Brian Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 It seemed like it was lip-synced. There were some some over exaggerations in the way they moved their mouths to the words of the song...but i guess thats to be expected in a parade like this.

I've always wondered if performances in the parade were lip-synched. I can never REALLY tell, though. Btw, if Million Dollar Quartet gets a medley of songs, why can't Idiot?
Brian Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 They had a perfect opportunity to use a better song in my opinion. Time of Your Life just didn't seem right. And since its only in the encore, its not really a true part of the musical. But I guess its really the only "Family Friendly" song, besides WMUWSE. Oh and Memphis and Million Dollar Quartet were shitty!

GDM Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 That's pretty ironic considering "Macy's Day Parade" is about how the Macy's Day Parade represents the worst of our materialistic culture. I guess it's safe to say that don't care at all anymore about labels, even ones they themselves (BJA) have made direct reference to. I guess Green Day is now part of the "night of the living dead on it's way". Oh yes, the irony was noted when it was first announced. They did "Good Riddance," which may be just a little slap at the whole parade idea... though one of the few songs that they could all do together that wouldn't insult 1/2 the American population on Thanksgiving lol.
farley drexel hatcher Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 It would be ironic if it were green day themselves performing in the parade, but it's not. To me the musical is a whole separate entity, one that needs a lot of publicity to keep going. The musical will always gain extra publicity in ways green day never would.
Trina Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Did anyone record it? Yeah, I don't like that they played Good Riddance. I get it needs to be ~acceptable but Good Riddance isn't a part of the musical. I don't care that it's their encore song..to me it just has nothing to do with the musical.
Bastard of 1967 Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 I hope someone records this... I'd like to see it I tried, and my HD vidcrap s/w crashed right in the middle of Memphis. Didn't find out til 20mins afterwards and missed it. Anybody else get it?
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Did anyone record it? What did they play, only Good Riddance?
