why he said that ??

it was a bit scary, specially with his voice shaking

I actually found that bit to be a slight turn on, if I'm perfectly honest. :eyebrows:

I actually don't think Billie sits around his house all day saying "Man I really wish Steve Jobs would die".

You've no idea how hard I laughed at the mental image of Billie doing that.

What does it mean that I wouldn't have been offended if he said "I wish Steve Jobs would die" but I am slightly offended when he says "of cancer"... and I'm not sure if it's because I *know* he has cancer, because I don't think I knew that when I first saw this video. I mean, telling Obama to go to hell is essentially wishing a horrible death on him too, but "go to hell" is such a common phrase that it doesn't phase me in the slightest. I guess it's the fact that "I hope you die of cancer" is a different way of saying go to hell, and I think it bothers people more because of how... oddly specific it is.

Billie was a major asshole for saying this, especially when his own dad died of cancer.

But you know what? I bet that every single fucking person on this forum has said something nasty about someone (I know I have, plenty of times). Maybe it wasn't as harsh as Billie's statement was, maybe it was even worse. We're all human, we all make mistakes. So let it the fuck go already.

Why did ya guys bump a 6 months old thread?

Shit happens. Leave the past behind and move on. He said something which wasn't meant to be said. So what? He has every right to raise his opinion.

I saw this video back when it came out and I didn't get angry or cheered for billie or whatever his speech is/was just whatever~ to me. :/

I can understand why he was so angry. Imagine yourself on a stage doing something for thousands of people and you only see cameras that are filming you. the people were just looking at their cameras. so I can understand why he freaked out after that.

and I'm not an apple fan or something like that. I don't really like Apple. but I think that even if I hate someone, I wouldn't wish him the soon death because of cancer. I mean Billie must know how it is to see a person dieing on cancer. and how bad it is. he's only a human and he can hate whoever he wants, but wishing death in front of thousands of people isn't right. he should say his own view, but not in that way :-/

This happened months ago, so where's the need to discuss about it over and over again? Billie can't change what he said there.

As much as I love Billie Joe Armstrong, what he said about Steve Jobs was just wrong. Steven Jobs did an amazing job with the IPod, which is my favorite thing to listen to Music with, which Steven Jobs is a genius for creating Ipods. I even bet Billie Joe have a IPod, or at least have some Music Device that he listens to his own Records with (y'know, Green Day stuff). I just don't understand why Billie Joe Armstrong hates Technology so freaking much! I mean, its like he hates it to the point where he's getting Ridiculous. He has a freaking Twitter for crying out loud people, which you need either a PC or a Phone (I think) to create or login to your account, that, right there, is being a Hypocrite. I think he was just angry that day, then again, I don't know. Sometimes, Billie Joe does act like a little Ridiculous at times (No offense to Billie).

I love Billie, he created one of the best Music in the world, which is why I love Green Day so much that it is my Favorite Band of all time, but what he said about Steven Jobs was just wrong. I even think that the whole "Anti-Technology" thing Billie has going on the last few years is kinda Ridiculous. Stop being a Hypocrite, Billie. I love Billie, but he sometimes acts Ridiculous.

Then again, he probably meant that people spend way too much time on Technology, like getting on their PC 24/7 and do nothing, but get on Technology. If thats the case, I understand Billie's point, but even that is kinda Ridiculous. It's a free Country, afterall.

That ain't going to stop me from liking Green Day, though. Billie Joe Armstrong is like the best Musician ever, and he's the best Song writer in history.
