Trotsky Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I wonder if Green Day will become anarcho-primitivists. God I hate anarcho-primitivists, almost as much as I hate LeVeyan Satanists.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 ^ I wish them good luck with their tour if they would really go primitivist. Woah, nearly 20 pages in a day! I wish I could've read it... is it worth reading all 19 pages? lol probably not really. Or well, it wouldn't be a smart thing to do. I'd end up with 15 posts I want to quote and reply to, but can't because it's become irrelevant already. For the sake of posting something, I'll just repost what I already said in the tour thread. Even though it's probably already been said and re-said thirty times. I dislike posting in threads when I haven't read the rest. So my apologies if this post is really too redundant and not participating in the discussion. Wah, Billie's speech rant thing was pretty intense. He has a damned good point, though. I don't like the first thing (do not wish diseases, especially ones like cancer, upon people ) and the Obama thing, well whatever, but I kind of admire him for saying the rest. Very intense.
Tubbie Head Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I kind of feel bad now about going to see Green Day at the cinema after watching his rant about technology I don't!!
joe6464 Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I don't!! I'm still going to go and enjoy it, I could just imagine Billie disapproving!
madddie Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I'm still going to go and enjoy it, I could just imagine Billie disapproving! But its bringing people together rather than rotting behind your own screen
Armageddon Flame. Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 I don't know if this has been stated yet, but you have admire the irony about us all debating over what Billie said "behind our screens"
joe6464 Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 But its bringing people together rather than rotting behind your own screen True, it's going to be a wonderful event! I can't wait!!! I don't know if this has been stated yet, but you have admire the irony about us all debating over what Billie said "behind our screens" I think it's ironic it was (inevitably) caught on camera as well
Fuzz Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 A mac forum posted about it. I REALLY hope it doesn't end up on a bunch of sites. Considering I found that link through a Google Alert, I'm sure this will give more eyes to it. http://forums.mactalk.com.au/8/94062-green-day-frontman-attacks-steve-jobs.html It's only going to make Billie look bad when more people start bitching about it.

I knew this would happen. Last thing he needs, seriously.
HoneyDo666 Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 I think everyone was really hopeful that Obama would clean up a lot of our problems, but very little has changed. There really aren't any great politicians anymore. I'm sure the Green Day guys thought anything was better than bush, but basically nothing has changed. I'm a little disappointed too because I genuinely like Obama and his family. I'm a big Michelle fan. But this presidency won't be remembered for anything. As far as technology goes, I like it if it doesn't stop me from connecting with people. I hate it when people can't stop texting...I'm right here, you can talk to me. I don't believe it's appropriate to wish death or hellfire on anyone though. AND Steve Jobs has cancer, so that was just poor taste. Billie needs to work on his temper, what he said was just insensitive.
Liam Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Was there a certain reason Billie said that shit about Steve Jobs?
StevieT Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 I dont know if anyones said this but doesnt steve jobs have the power to get all their stuff taken of itunes?
lawrahday Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 hmm yeah he probably does :/ i hope this doesn't get out...shit billie think before you speak next time, if this got out it really could cause lots of damage to their rep.
StevieT Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 hmm yeah he probably does :/ i hope this doesn't get out...shit billie think before you speak next time, if this got out it really could cause lots of damage to their rep. Im starting to think the same thing to. I dont think green day would lose many fans if it got out its just i dont think theyed get many more.
21st Century Drum Player Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 My theory is judging by what he said about his balls and his guitar are the only thins that make him happy i think something has happened in his love life (arguments with Adrienne?)
Fuzz Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 My theory is judging by what he said about his balls and his guitar are the only thins that make him happy i think something has happened in his love life (arguments with Adrienne?) Now that's REALLY starting to assume too much.
Silverlight Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Great... This is just like when Lars attacked Napster... I've never heard Billie be so pissed off about technology... And anyway, don't blame all technology problems on Steve Jobs, Billie!
netty Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 this was bound to end up on other forums. I`ve seen enough about it on my facebook feds and on twitter as well.
HoneyDo666 Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 They have lawyers at Warner to protect them...but it can't really save their reputation. People will think what they want. Billie's entitled to his opinion, but maybe he should go easy on ill-wishing people...
Burnout98 Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 My theory is judging by what he said about his balls and his guitar are the only thins that make him happy i think something has happened in his love life (arguments with Adrienne?) oops, meant to press reputation down........dammit i wish i could've taken that back....
Greenday_Aussie Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Billie is a cunt for whats hes said. I've lost a TON of respect for him.
theclassof13 Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 I think Billie has his period. :eyebrow:
Stormy Haze Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 I think that what Billie said was awful, but he's a simple man, he has the right to say some shit sometimes. Let's all get over this. A mac forum posted about it. That would be horrible... I really hope that it doesn't end up on many sites, too
SOMERTEN Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Billie appears to have taken the 'St Jimmy' role to heart these past few weeks. I am a little disappointed he would say something like this (not because of the controversy, but because it's a bit childish, he's not 22 anymore) and I always thought that Noel Gallagher made a complete arse of himself when he said he wished Damon Albarn would 'get aids and die'. Having said that I can't help wondering if Billie is ok and why he is so angry. And he does have the right to say what he likes. With regard to technology I agree that young people spend far too much time on the internet. For example I have been a member here since May 2006 and I have just over 500 posts in that time. People who joined later than me can have up to 10,000 posts. Astonishing.
Red Lights Flash Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 That's made me lose a lot of respect there. Nobody deserves to die of cancer. Steve Jobs makes life easier online. Barack Obama is far better than all republicans combined together. And to think, Steve Jobs used Green Day music on apple keynotes before. The fact that he said dies of cancer was a bit tasteless too considering Billie just preformed at the stand up to cancer benifit gig over a month ago. Way to go Billie.
