strange, did you scream "Billie Joe I want a child from you" ?

it was pretty embaressing and people still bring it up....

btw, i didn't write what I did because of gilman today. i was agreeing about what you said, and concurring about how he's viewed in the bay, not about the night. I probably should have made that clear, but i'm working and trying to keep up with this thread at the same time. sorry about that. all apologies.

i screamed like the absolute loudest in the club when he walked in the side door and made eye contact with him and he rolled his eyes at me. so i was little stoned at the time and didnt expect to see billie walk in carrying his equipment (no one was) and i got a little over excited (not saying that being high was an excuse for my actions). i think im the reason he decided to leave and not come back until their set. it was pretty embaressing and people still bring it up....

i hear ya sista...i chased aaron cometbus around that night like a chicken without a head. i almost caught him too...man, that dude is fast... cluck cluck cluck CLUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :runaround::runaround::runaround:

Come on. This song was American idiot. We all know billie just says shit to get people excited. The crowd was dead. If it wasn't for technology no

One would have Been recording and would have actually payed attention to the concert. I'm sure he didn't mean the cancer joke. Seriously. This thread ruined my day. I just threw fits on tumblr with people complainting about his rant. What's so wrong about it? I found it amusing. And yeah green day Hates apple all three of them. Tre even said he hates the ipad cause it's stupid. And it is. All apple Is doing is making the same stuff but in different sizes and adding a new thing. Waste of money.

I thought the cancer comment was completely moronic, and I won't justify it or defend it because there's no excuse for comments like that. I didn't care about the Obama comment.

And as for the technology part... to me, it's incredibly ironic that he says things like this, but meanwhile still updates on Twitter frequently. And I also find it ironic that the people (no offense to you guys whom this will apply to) who are saying, "The technology part is so true, we're so addicted and need to stop, etc." are on a forum. Online. Also most likely with a Facebook account/ other social networking site, updating that too. Again, no offense intended. Just an observation.

Well at least this should stop people glossing over the nastier aspects of the band's personalities in order to put them on a pedestal. They'll never live up to your ideal image.

you're right in my opinion..I'm the first that said that part was good and I also said that this seems incoherent just 'cause I always am on forums and 'cause it's the only way I have to follow GD closely but rationally I understand that many people (me included) nowadays wast so much time behind a screen...

Well I think he just said something In the heat of the moment. It happens we all do it, I can't say I agree with wishing someone to die but I don't think he neccessarily meant it. Billie is one who will speak his mind and say it without really thinking about it beforehand. I am the same way so if something is on his mind he will say it and be as blunt as he can to get his point across. This was one of those cases where he may have been angry and drunk and well the results weren't pretty. Naturally his comments won't please everyone and will offend people but that's part of being human. Things will get said and done to make people upset and I won't hold that against him.

Wtf Billie? We get it, you don't like technology lol

When he says this stuff I feel like he is completly directing at me, or anyone that comes over here, or people who navigate on the internet and have almost a whole life going on here.

if it wasn't for technology, internet in specific, I wouldn't even be a Green Day fan, I wouldn't be what I am today. Still I don't live in here.

I get that Billie feels like people who are addicted to this shit are ridiculous, yes, he is right. He tries to make people realise how stupid it is to live on the internet, instead of living REAL life...That's a nice message, He has always said this. This time it was in a little bit aggressive type of speech. But oh well, some people really need to hear that.

I don't get what's so wrong with technology. Our civilization may be destroyed, but we can't blame it on technology. Plus, it's not like things were all roses when people had no access at all to it.

FUCK YOU Billie.

He need to send some sort of an apolagy about the cancer remark its totally out of order soone deserves to have any deathly disease if he said that in a english speaking country the crowd would turn on him.

Okay Billie, you don't like Apple. That doesn't mean you have to wish death on Steve Jobs. It's not like I've lost any respect for Billie Joe, but the Steve Jobs comment was kinda.. not cool. And I agree with what some people are saying, he might have just said that in the heat of the moment.

As mentioned before everyone says something stupid once in a while that they probably wouldn´t have said if they had the chance to think before.

But let´s face it: BILLIE MAKES PEOPLE TALK and that´s always a good thing

30 green day fans discussing it in a green day forum does NOT constitute a big deal.

A fucking men! Shit! I can't believe how worked up people are getting over this. What kind of sheltered lives must most of you lead? He's pissed off, for whatever reason. This happens to most people in real life. Steve Jobs is not going to die of cancer just because Billie Joe said it. The man can say whatever the hell he wants. He does not need to apologize and he certainly does not need to be politically correct. The thought of a politically correct Green Day makes me want to vomit. He is not a politician, nor a minister. You do not need to like nor agree with anything he says. If you like their music...listen to it. Billie Joe Armstrong's words are not gospel. Hmmmm....I'm guessing most of you spend far too much time behind your computer screens and never go more than a few minutes without your cell phones. Perhaps he's touched a nerve there....

aw 10 pages.. maybe we can have a poll about who's on billie's side and who's not. jk

i don't think billie meant it. maybe he just said/added it to totally emphasize his hatred towards technology, considering that steve jobs is man to represent it.

but billie could better choose some other words to exaggerate the next time.

I think people are overreacting. He made a stupid comment that he didn't mean. It was the heat of the moment and it seemed appropriate even though it wasn't. He was probably pissed at the crowd beig dead, wanted to liven things up, and wound up putting his foot in his mouth.

I know I've said stuff to people along the same lines, and I really regretted it later. Shit happens. It just proves he's human.

Posted

I don't think Billie needs to apologize.. he just said something stupid. I'm pretty sure that the people who are overreacting will get over it. Some people on places like Twitter are saying "if you don't agree with Billie, you aren't a real fan." Bullshit.

Posted

Sometimes I don't get it.

He says that technology have ruined civilization. But How would have he made without microphones, without electric guitar, without twitter or Blackberry

I like Billie Joe, I love Billie Joe but sometimes he says some incoherent comment.

But Billie joe is like that, and personally I love him for that.

That's true he says ,in this case, really stupid things

Yeah, Someones on the Charlie. ;)

I agree with this. I didn't like it at all... I hate it when people say that, I know sometimes they don't say it really meaning it (and that's what happened for sure) But that's no excuse. Billie, please think before speaking =)

And yeah, everyone says stupid things once in a while.

I will lose immense amounts of respect for him if he apologizes.

And you are wrong. When Rage Against the Machine (rightfully) said Bush should be hanged (in America), the crowd didn't turn on them.
