21 guns Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 [offtopic] What does Tre say at the end? [/offtopic] "IN SHORT, IPAD IS STUPID."
Nele Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 LOL he built a career on being an angry little man XD Yeah, but now he's like the 5'7" tall Hulk or something like that.
E!!i Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Well, I didn't really mean he didn't mean it, but more that his speech went over the top, it was too much imo. Yeah, so genuine that he'll probably tweet about it in a few days. Really, he can't say stuff like he did and update his twitter all the time and like to do stuff like GD Rockband. It doesn't make any sense to me. maybe he's schizophrenic
farley drexel hatcher Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 this people put him on a REALLLYYYY high pedestal. locally, hes known a little differently. Different in what way? I just get the impression from anyone who knows him that he's an average sort of guy, really. Which makes outbursts like this even more normal.
Guest Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 manda, you said a world of truth right there, that's for sure. but... maybe we should keep that to ourselves, lol. ooooh, mysterious
E!!i Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Im just glad this didnt happen at one of the really high profiled shows like Wembly.. he would of gotten in trouble if it hit the media the wrong way or something I think he wouldn't care about that
21 guns Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Im just glad this didnt happen at one of the really high profiled shows like Wembly.. he would of gotten in trouble if it hit the media the wrong way or something oh god yeah :/ that would have rained on my parade for SURE....
mandajane Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Different in what way? I just get the impression from anyone who knows him that he's an average sort of guy, really. Which makes outbursts like this even more normal. hes seen more as a regular guy. for sure highly respected and everyone views him as an amazing and talented artist, but its not like ZOMG BILLIE IS IN THE ROOM. its kinda hard to explain. but i experienced myself first hand the hard way.
E!!i Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 My opinion is that the Steve Jobs part was disgraceful, and being someone who has lost someone close to me through cancer I am pretty disgusted by that. But having said that I completely agree with what he said about technology. People waste so much time behind computer screens, watching tv or playing video games, too much time in my opinion. I am definitely one of these people. But I have done without video games for almost a year and I was in a way addicted to them. I was the type of person that would stay up playing video games until my eyes were bloodshot. But since I was forced to give them up when my console broke and it has been such a relief, I have so much time for other things it is great for me personally. But my point is I agree with Billie on the technology aspect I'm very addicted to the internet cause of GDC
21 guns Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 manda, you said a world of truth right there, that's for sure. but... maybe we should keep that to ourselves, lol. O RLY
GDM Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 O RLY I'm totally kidding. Haha, you guys. Oy. See what Manda said above, basically.

Anja Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 hes seen more as a regular guy. for sure highly respected and everyone views him as an amazing and talented artist, but its not like ZOMG BILLIE IS IN THE ROOM. its kinda hard to explain. but i experienced myself first hand the hard way. That just reminded me of a show I went to last year at Gilman and (I don't remember what band it was) were saying, well, negative things about Green Day and everyone just cheered. I just stood there trying no to look pissed or so because I completely disagreed with what he said I bet I was the only GD fan there.[/random]
GDM Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 dayumm. that wasn't meant to be rude. basically, she's right. he's just a guy in the east bay when he's there. and yea, we do tend to put him on pedestal. and people can disagree about what he says. and i'm going to go now before people realize that I just agreeing with what manda said in the first place and trying to lighten up this thread. and failing. eek....

†...HAUSHINKA...† Posted October 28, 2010 Author Posted October 28, 2010 ooooooohhh, awkward-meeting-the-band stories!! *popcorn* tell us mandajane! tell us! tell us!! XD
Slappy. Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Actually the more I watch this video, the more I start to laugh especially at the part with the "DO YOU WANNA FUCKING DIE" and excessive shouting. I agree it was kinda inappropriate to say about the cancer thing, but I can't take any of that rant seriously, it was just Billie getting caught up in the moment, he probably doesn't even remember saying it. He probably watched that back and thought oops. Like others have said, everyone says things they don't mean sometimes, it's just unfortunate that because of technology Billie's outburst has been spread worldwide. I think that kinda proves his point.
GDM Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 nooooooooooooooooooooo not before i apologise. couldn't find the right smiley. i was just looking to stir things up no need to apologize at all! it made me laugh.
E!!i Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I watched the vid a second time and now I really had to laugh
forget_me_nots Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 So much anger packed into such a small man.
mandajane Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 tell us mandajane! tell us! tell us!! XD lol fuck it. whatever. it was really embarassing, but ive learned a lot from it and since then. billie said himself "anything successfull is a series of mistakes" i screamed like the absolute loudest in the club when he walked in the side door and made eye contact with him and he rolled his eyes at me. so i was little stoned at the time and didnt expect to see billie walk in carrying his equipment (no one was) and i got a little over excited (not saying that being high was an excuse for my actions). i think im the reason he decided to leave and not come back until their set. it was pretty embaressing and people still bring it up.... one day, i want to apologize to billie if i can. So much anger packed into such a small man. hes an angry punk rocker
