Wet socks traumatize me Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 They're gaining more and more IMPORTANCE AND CREDIBILITY in the music business and I think that's what matters to them. And to me.
V@L3 Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 i think they have not.... 21st cbd has attracted lots of new fans (including me), but at the same time, albums such as american idiot attract me more (not saying 21st cbd isnt good, it rules). i dont agree that its lost popularity
in_your_face Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 well, i don't think Green Day is losing their popularity. it seems to increase day-by-day though the records are lagging behind.
spark in the night Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 they are def. not as popular now as they were during American Idiot
lastnightonGDA Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Green Day was THE BAND to listen to in 04/05. They were the band everyone was talking about. Now, ke$ha is who everyone is talking about. I was wearing a green day shirt and someone said "Green Day? they're so old!". I have lost all respect for that guy. He could've said "Green Day sucks" and I would've been okay with it. But if you don't like what I'm listening to because it's not popular at the moment, then you can go fuck yourself. ANYWAYS, Green Day has definitely lost popularity......amongst the people that don't matter. <----- that was harsh. i will just never understand how people can just jump from artist to artist in so little time and never look back.
Whastername_BilliesGal Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 posted this in IC, but they're all fucking slow and mainly mentally deficient, so time to post it here haha I'm not trying to pretend that they're anything other than massive, but 21st Century Breakdown hasn't sold nearly as well as American Idiot, and there were a number of empty seats at Wembley Stadium this summer, which, 5 years ago, would probably have been full if they'd played the venue. It may just be because in 2004/5, they very literally had the world at their feet, and were, for a period, easily the biggest band in the world. has the hype died down a bit, or have many of their fickle fans who jumped on the bandwagon all those years ago just moved on? They just don't really seem as big. I think its quite clear that this seems to be the case. Its really sad. They deserve more because they are such a massive band. However, There are still thoose fans that stay with them. People grow up, and forget about the music they once listened to. Pop, r&b,rap and such have taken over music and it makes me sick. It seems like anyone with a good digitalized voice makes the radio and then suddenly knocks all the talent off the charts. Its quite pathetic. The radio has ruined the music that people listen to today.....Green Day keep making great music. And anyine who dosent seem to listen then F.O.D.
