My brother :), he is only 3 but he can sing a lot of Green Day songs. He always wants to listen them :D

Then my two best friends- and thats something I am really proud of. In my class there wasnt any GD freak like me, but I told my two best friends to listne Jeus of suburbia and they REALLY liked it! I am really happy, ´cause now I dont feel so lonely in real life.

Holy crap, he's only 3?!? Well, looks like I've got some work to do on my 6 year old brother. Recommend any songs to grab his attention? :D

My Mum :D

Her wallpaper on her phone is Green Day, her ringtone is longview, she listens to them in the car, she downloads videos from youtube, she went to their show in perth, she knitted me a mike doll and a rev doll. My favourite moment was when she mmsed me the photo of the rev that she knitted, cause she couldn't wait till I got home to show me, and with the picture she wrote "it's fuck time!"

:woot: YOUR. MOM. ROCKS. That is so awesome. I want a Mike doll.

Do you have a picture?

Page own!

Nobody really.. When I try to talk about Green Day, or try to let people listen to them, they keep saying they don't like or hate the music.

But.. I'm always playing Green Day music at home, and a while ago I waited till MTV/TMF were playing GD videos, and turned up the volume. My younger brothers know a bit more Green Day songs this way, and at least they're not saying they suck. My mom (which surprised me) kinda likes them too! She's more of a "quiet/slow/pop" song person, when looking at a band like Green Day. She likes songs like Good Riddance, Wake Me Up When September Ends, 21 Guns and Last Night On Earth. Things that made me smile were when the LOTAG video was shown on MTV for the first couple of times. I kept saying I didn't like the choice to make it a single/they should've chosen Static Age etc.. But my mother said she likes the song! Omg, awesome. And once, maybe with my Birthday or so, I played Green Day albums in the living room all day. I was playing 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours and Kerplunk, and my mother said she liked it! She was surprised when I said it was Green Day as well, she didn't know at first :happy:

Kinda the same here...Well my friends like some Rock songs but they're more into Trance music and they don't understand why I'm not. Sometimes I listen to that songs too but it keeps me always coming back to Green Day songs and to Rock songs. Since my Boyfriend and I moved together, there's Trance and Hardstyle music everyday in our house...Kinda pisses me off...

To come back to the Topic: It was simple how I've gotten into Green Day. Watched TV someday, saw them and liked them. Since American Idiot came out my Mom likes Green Day too...One day she asked me if she could borrow my AI CD...I didn't get it back untill today.

My sister. I kept trying to convince her to listen to them but she wasn't interested - she assumed they were just another band like Blink 182 or something, just like I had before. I got her to read the "My Adventure With Green Day" story in Kerplunk and it sparked her interest  so she borrowed a CD, it happened to be Warning. She listened to Blood Sex And Booze and BAM she suddenly understood how unique and amazing they are! She was hooked and now she's as big a fan as me. We're Green Day obsessives together.

Her 3 year old son doesn't care about Green Day but he does like the Foxboro Hot Tubs thanks to us. Nursery rhymes are more his thing but he loves Mother Mary and Alligator. Especially Alligator, he sings it when he's pretending to be a crocodile and does the special alligator clapping :D

A year ago I got a friend of mine into Green Day, but it didn't last for long.. She now listens to pop music again

Most of my friends do actually.. I believe I'm like the only one in my surrounding that likes Green Day xD

Oh.. and there is someone in my class who says she "likes" Green Day, but I bet she only listens to 21 Guns (and maybe another song of 21st Century Breakdown) and that she's never heard of Longview or Basket Case :ermm:

She's a b..b..be.. (I'm sorry, it's such a horrible word) belieber. Damn, I said it

Anyway, luckily there's another friend that also likes rock music.. she isn't really into Green Day, but I'm trying to convince her

All my three brothers, the middle one especially. They've become his favourite band. My mum to some extent. She doesn't really listen to Green Day as a fan would do, but she does like some songs and seems to like Billie a lot... That was enough to have her come with me to one of their shows this summer.

So it's just my family who've gotten in to them because of me. I barely talk about Green Day with most people, so it's not like I try very hard.

We're trying to get my girlfriend's 11-year-old sister to like them. She's a fan of American Idiot, and her favorite song is Good Riddance but she's not sure about the older stuff yet. We just have to give her time, and get her going to her first mosh pit (which we're doing this Monday) =D

That's adorable :)

My friend kinda likes 21 Guns. But you have to forgive her, she's been brainwashed by the Beaver.

& my other friend (the one who made me miss the show from the 5th row *&^%$#@!), well she's kinda into them, but she prefers Tokio Hotel =/

My conversions have been total failures up until now

My whole family love Green Day, my nine year old sister has been in love with them since she was four, my brother and parents came to the Manchester gig this year with me, my brother was on the barrier with me and my parents were in seating. My brother now constantly talks about how much he needs to see them again and my parents admit it was the best thing they have ever seen.

None of my friends really like Green Day, I kinda got one of my best friends into them, but she isn't a massive fan or anything.

My friend and my Dad..kinda. It's sad because everyone I know is either half-fans that only like them for Dookie and American Idiot (and I can't get them to like them more), or they just hate Green Day all together.... =/

Last summer I had four tickets to the second MSG concert with no one to go with. I asked two of my friends who I knew kinda listened to them, and then just kinda threw another friend in there on a whim.

Needless to say, the friend i asked on a whim is now my Green Day companion. She came home from college to see St. Billie with me! Now that's dedication! :runaround:

One like 10 years old little girl who already knew few songs like wmuwse and 12 guns.

Our moms are coworkers and once their family came to visit. And when I discovered that she liked green day, I asked if she wanted me to write a list from songs she might like.

So, she said yes and I wrote the list, and next week my mom told that the girl was now hardcore Green Day-fan.

i'm so proud

i dont think i got anyone into them tbh, i know i can get annoying when i talk about green day thats why i kinda stopped, but i will say that i got many of my friends and my parents aware of green day though

I wouldn't say "gotten into" but when I got into GD in 2005, I probably was so annoying with my mad GD love that my friends back then had no chance to escape the band  So some of them eventually started listening to them and quite liked some of their songs. They aren't what I call "fans" though.

yes i get to tell someone this! i brought my best friend and my little brother to my first Green day show and of course i made them come with me super early so that we could get a good spot. and of course they were bitching the whole time about how long it was taking and how we didnt have to get there that early. i kept trying to tell them that it would be worth it when we got a great spot, but they didnt really get it. My brother is a Green Day fan but not a huge one, and my best friend just kinda pretended to like them for me, but she hated my obsession. well the show went great, we were right on the barrier on Mike's side, and my little brother even got pulled up on stage. After the show my friend admitted that it was totally worth it, that Green Day is amazing, and how we HAD to go to another show as soon as possible. It made me sooo happy to see her feel the same way as me about this band and for her to finally understnad why i love them so much. so now my brother and my best friend a big Green day fans and no longer give me shit about it because they now understand how great Green Day is. so ya i guess i converted them. I got my dad into them too, but my moms hopeless.

oh and i got my friends 4 year old brother into them. its super cute, he sings 21 guns alot. and one day we were playing rock band and st. jimmy was on, i asked him to dance and he did the cutest agressive/moshing/jumping up and down thing. it was priceless.

(sorry i wrote so much)

My family. And I'm working on my boyfriend....

Luckily, my mum was a HUGE Green Day fan since 39/smooth, so I didn't have to convert her :)

I converted my grandparents actually, at thanksgiving. They questioned my "Warning" vinyl so I played it for them and they loved it!

My best friend and subsequently the guitarist for my band, used to hate Green Day, but I played her almost all of their songs (along with a lot of funny green day interviews and Bullet in a Bible) and now she loves them :P but she also got me to love oasis, so I suppose it's fair game :)

One person I couldn't convert was my ex-boyfriend. He actually picked on me for liking Punk Rock (he was a metalhead)...

Anyone you guys couldn't convert?

My mom and 2 or 3 friends. I love that feeling when I know someone likes Green Day now because they heard of them from me. Like, one of my friends once came up to me humming Basket Case. I was so proud

I got my mum to LOVE them and my dad to like them, and I turned my little brother into a wannabe- hardcore fan. I got my bestie into them more (she already liked them and owned American Idiot) and my other friends to like them a lot more.

And I'm now working on converting my older brother, which will be REALLY hard because all he cares about is his guitar, Metallica and computers

I like this thread. :)

Well, I got my Mom into them first. She went to the 2005 Hartford show with me and owns American Idiot. She also has watched Bullet in a Bible with me  and gets excited when I share GD news with her. When I told her about Billie being in AI and how I was able to go and would probably get his autograph, she was super happy for me. I called her at like 7 that night, and she was like "Make sure you call me later and tell me if you met him, I'll be up no matter how late it is!" and she was excited. She also thinks Billie is cute. (Although a lot of the guys I like she thinks are cute, too, so that's not really a surprise.)

Um, my dad likes them, too. I bought him American Idiot for Father's Day one year and he was like making me explain the storyline to him. :P

(My parents are in their fifties, btw. )

My best friend loves them, too and has a huge crush on Billie. But me and him kind of got into them at the same time, so I'm not sure who converted who.

So, yeah, I guess I'm pretty lucky because my parents and friends support my obsession. :D
