Awkward eye contact with the band

It's frustrating how a lot of the times you don't know if they're looking at you, or in your general direction. Of course I like to think Mike and Billie looked at me (at both concerts where I had floor tickets I didn't catch Tre looking in my direction once, haha. Edit: oh wait, I might recall him looking in my general direction once. But I'm sure that he wasn't looking at me, just at the general direction of the end of the catwalk. So anyway), but you're never sure. Actually, I think most of the times you can safely assume that they weren't looking at you, but that it just seemed that way.

Doesn't mean I don't pretend they were looking at me :D

Although there were a couple times of which I'm 100% sure they looked at me, because it was a reaction to something I did (like, actually. As in, looking at me and motioning to give pairs of sunglasses I was holding. Laughing at a mask I was waving around like crazy. Reading my Longview sign and nodding :woot: anyways, stuff like that). And none of those times were awkward :D

At the irvine show, I made a sign that said "Taller than you." and billie read it and laughed. And that just made my night even more perfect. I thought he was gonna get mad. Then when they played scattered (fave nimrod song) I started crying, like... Very noticable, and billie looked at me again and smiled and sang a bit while looking at me. I know when he looks at me because of the eye contact and the feeling I get.

Then for the acoustic encore, I had ultraviolent written on one cheek and disturbed on the other, billie looked at me, made a funny face and shook his head saying no. he didn't play pulling teeth.

That would've been priceless  Well, the coming up thing. I really doubt he'd get mad.

Are you taller than him?

Well I'm 5"7 1/2, so I think so.

It would have sucked if I went up and I was shorter. Oh no.

I'm not saying this to be cruel, but he definitely would've made the guard pull you on stage. That's the same thing that happened to me, when he kneeled and pointet at me I thought he wanted my hat and I tried to give it to him, then all of a sudden this huge guard grabs me and pulls me over the barricade and on stage! Ah well, next time you'll know what to do, then it's your turn sweetie! :)

In fact, I don't really care, cause for this concert my goal was to give him the flag, and that's it. When I got the flag back afterward (I was sure I would never get it back, and it was okay for me), I was so happy (and at this time I had not been really thinking about what happened and everything....). And I don't really see how you're been cruel with what you've been saying....

I remember when I was on stage, I went up the drum platform. I was gonna go up to the top and jump down or something, but halfway I caught Tré's eye. I just stared at him in shock and I couldn't move :runaround: I had an insanely creepy smile on my face, and he just gave me one of his perverted smiles

The most amazing feeling is when you're certain that they're looking at you. I mean, I know that a lot of the time, they just happen to be looking in your direction, but the fact that Mike winked at me when I winked at him, and the Billie picked me for Longview...it's just so amazing

I had kind of awkward eye contact with Billie Joe on opening night for AI on broadway. I was always looking at him and he'd glance over and I'd either keep staring, smirk at him, or look away lol It happened quite a few times. It was an amazing kind of awkward though. lol.

and I love the eye contact during shows, especially Tre. At the Dallas show I was looking at Tre during Know Your Enemy and I couldn't tell if he was looking at me or not so I stuck my tongue out at him and then he stuck his tongue out and opened his eyes really big haha.

San diego concert last year, I was waiting behind the buses after the show hoping to see billie. Then my mom pointed at someone and billie was walking quietly a few feet away from me. Like casualy walking infront of me. Then I'm like "billie!!" and I waved and he turned and waved and said "hey there!" and he slowed down, looked at me and I just froze. I was scared to go up to him so I stood there making eye contact with him and he stood there... Then he smiled and walked away.

It was really awkward since it was my first gig and first time seeing him in person.

It was just the way u told the story, I thought u wanted to be on stage, but the fact that u reached ur goal is awesome! Congrats :)

I haven't made awkward eye contact with them, but at the start of the show in Glasgow when Tre sat down at his drums he sat and just stared at me all through the first song - I was at the end of the catwalk at the barrier. :) Made me happiezzz

Awesome sign. I cried too when I saw them this summer, a bit during September Ends and Last Night on Earth but more during Good Riddance.

Jason White looked at me for a good thirty seconds and it went all slow-motion and what not cause it was hard to believe but it was super cool. When I met them, Billie stared right at me for like ten seconds at least and the image is burned into my brain. So unforgettable. Mike smiled at me and was really cool even though I must have looked like a weirdo racing towards them along the sidewalk. Tre glanced at me but I didn't get his graph so we didn't have any eye contact. Either way, it was fucking awesome having your idols look back at you! :)

I know it sounds weird when i say awkward. but you know when you and some stranger make eye contact for a few seconds and then you both look away quickly. And after you think "what the fuck just happened?"....that's what it was like. but I didn't expect that to happen with Tre because he's not really a stranger.....thats why it was weird and after i was thinking to myself "wtf just happened?" as well. y'know?

OH MY! lucky you!!

well...I hadn't had eye contact with the band unfortunately...but I do that with random people on the street while walking by...like when somebody walks by and looks at me..I just look back

one time i did that with a guy and he didn't look away (like they all normally do) ...so we stared at each other while walking and turned :D :D until I we walked backwards and I bumped into somebody... that was fun :D

Oh my god. Everytime I go to a show billie always just stares at me for a long time and the first thing that goes through my head Ie "omg omg what is he thinking? How do I look? He must think I'm ugly."

But his smiles were honest and nice all the time so maybe no. :woot:

That's happened when I met the guys... how everyone knows... that is a lot of time that Green Day didnt come back to Brazil (12 years)... now they came...

well.. I went to a press conference in their #1 day here in Brazil... I was the only fan there... and didnt have too much journalist.. cuz was secret anyway.... and they just did took the pictures... whatever.. I was the only one..

Then.. when they got out, a security guy STOPPED me.... and then I asked please.. and started to scream "BILLIE JOE LET ME HUG YOU, PLEASE PLEASE, LET ME HUG YOU..."

Billie was so nice.. and came to me.. and said excuse me to seccurity.. and I just hugged him.. LOL but was funny and weird.. cuz I was real nervous.. and I did not want to let him go.. than I talked about how long I know them, and how long we've been waitin.. and I said "I'm going to your concert"

than Billie let my arms and said with this awkward eye  "TONIGHT"

(they would do a show that nite in ANOTHER city..).. then I said : "NOOOOOOOOO BILLIE JOE JUST NEXT WEEK.." and hugged him again.... well he hugged me too anyway.. but I can imagine his face thinking "This girl is real crazy"

and well.. I stayed there... and I did say nothing anymore... and then.. he said: "Do you want coffee" (While trying me let him go...)

and I said almost CRYING... "NOOOOOOOO BILLIE JOE.. I JUST WANT TO HUG YOU MORE"

then he laughed.... and said: "ooooh Okayy" and hold me tigh

after this he said "I'm sorry but now I gotta go.."

and then I let him go of course...

but was real funny and Mike was behind billie and saw everything.. really he was with a awkward eye like "Maybe this crazy fan will let billie go and will hug me too I dont know :ermm: "

And well I just cant.. I just dont know how I could stepped to my home after all of it...

now telling to you was funny.... but in that hour... I was nervous... saying shits... and... well... was weird now....

but was real nice auhsuhauhahuahussahuhuas

I was at the soundcheck of the Berlin show last year and I was standing there right in front of Billie Joe just smiling like a madman and he must have thought I was weird or something. But I think he looked down once and smiled back at me.

And later at the show, Mike came to the front during Longview and sticked out his tongue, so I was doing it back at him and he smiled.

But the most awkward thing was, in Munich this year, Billie wanted me to throw these sunglasses on stage and I was getting really nervous and hesitated to throw them up because I was holding them in my left hand and I am really bad at throwing things in general, and he was all like "Damn, throw them up already". omg so awkward.

How far away were the seats?

Last year, third row to the back :pinch:

This year, third row, amazing view, but still too far for eye contact
