Comedy & Tragedy
Shh, you can still pretend there looking at you Mike nodded at me in Marlay Park which was really cool The best bit of eye contact I got was during King For a Day and Billie came over to our side, he stood on in front of where I was and pulled his trousers down, needless to say I was looking there, but when I looked up at his face he was looking back at me It was such a bizarre moment. I can imagine you looking back at him like "Yes....I am staring at your ass."
Holly Ann
Billie looked at me a few times in Bham cause I think I was the craziest girl in the seats. lol
Ally
The eye contact i had, definitely wasn't awkward. Billie eye contact + smiling at me = no awkward at all. Awestruck, definitely.

Isabel
But then I think realistically guys, they're not staring specifically at one person. Like if you're so squashed together and Mike stares in one general direction the entire people surrounding you probably think he's staring at them as well. I know what you mean, but I have always known when they have looked at me, you can just tell...your eyes are just locked on one another and, even if it is only for a split second, everything around you just freezes because at that moment, one of the 3 most important people in the world to you has just taken a second to look at you; YOU!! The most amazing eye contact I ever had was in Belfast. Billie came down on to the catwalk and he pointed right at me; a moment that I just can't ever allow myself to forget. He pointed at me, gestured towards me, fucking spoke to me and said "Do you know it? You swear to God? Alright...get your ass up here, lets. go." I still remember standing there thinking that my heart was never going to start beating again; everything just stopped. He was interacting with me, looking right at me, aware of my bloody existence. And the mad thing is, I doubt it even occured to him how fucking important that moment was to me Gaaaaaaaah
sara_gd
^ When Mike looked at me in Dublin, I could only give him a huge smile, and then I thought that I should do something else if he looked at me again, so the next time I threw a kiss to him and he stopped looking. Then I went back to the smile
Guest Mia Joe
This summer I made eye contact with Billie. It wasn't awkward, but I kinda froze. It was during "Are We the Waiting", I had a flag in my hand and he made a sign to have it, but I wasn't able to throw the flag. I felt like it lasted so long (watching a video, I realized it took less then 5 seconds), thinking I will never be able to reach the stage while trying to make a small package with the flag. And then Billie made another sign (like if changed his mind and didn't want the flag anymore) and left. One of the security guard pulled me against the barricade (between the girls who were in front of me), I gave him the flag and he gave it to Billie. I've been looking to some videos....I'm not sure, but I think I got really close to being pulled up on stage (and I think that's why Billie made this sign and the security guard pulled me against the barricade just as Billie left)..... At least, I got my flag back after.... I'm not saying this to be cruel, but he definitely would've made the guard pull you on stage. That's the same thing that happened to me, when he kneeled and pointet at me I thought he wanted my hat and I tried to give it to him, then all of a sudden this huge guard grabs me and pulls me over the barricade and on stage! Ah well, next time you'll know what to do, then it's your turn sweetie!
saraHsunshine
Billie pointed at me and laughed because of how ridiculously excited I was when he started taking volunteers to sing Longview. It made my day. Almost. The best was when Tre saw my sign that had a picture of him playing Blue with the words "Let Tre Sing!" He almost fell off his stool laughing It really made my life to know I made him laugh. The next night ehe played Dominated Love Slave

Cym
At the Phoenix show last year, we were able to get into sound check, and when it was all over and they were ushering us out, it was pretty quiet, so I just yelled at the top of my lungs "MIKE!!! BYE MIKE!!!" and started waving my arms like a psychopath, but his head whipped around and I swear he looked right at me and did that head nod guys do a lot as a form of greeting. I used to hate it, but now I don't Anyway, I almost passed out and my sister half-dragged me out of the stadium. This year's show though, I made a lot of cool eye contact with Jason White, he's amazing ^_^ and me and my sister made some rather awkward eye contact with Tre during AFI's set when he was standing on the side of the stage wearing that sports jersey and fishnet body stockings o_O

And I think Tre and I did too, but who knows. Lollapalooza was fuckin great but when he was lookin for someone to sing longview Billie looked directly at me and turned and went to the other side to pick the guy like...yeah and right as know ur enemy was starting he looked at me and I was like x100000 and he laughed andthen was like "DO YOU KNOW YOUR FUCKIN ENEMY" to the crowd it was EPIC!!!!!! Kayleigh.
I've never made eye contact with the band. But I made eye contact with Jakob Armstrong about 7 times.. and then I talked to him. But I wish I could at least make eye contact with them. I don't give a shit if it's awkward.
lastnightonGDA
I like that in lesss than a day there's 4 pages on discussion over eye contact don't get me wrong, I'm not laughing at anyone or anything, I just love the notion that something as seemingly mundane as eye contact can generate so much talk. It just really shows how the little things that the guys do in concert to make the show seem more intimate really really work I'm exactly the same - it doesnt matter how many times you see a band, you still get that rush of adrenaline when you know that their attention is right on you. When they acknowledge you, out of a see of thousands of people. It's an amazing feeling. To me it's a bit like that feeling you get when you catch yourself right before you fall, or you almost step out infront of a car (or am I the only one who has done that?); that surge of adrenaline that makes you really feel alive. kinda makes them sound like some illicit drug or i'm just really awesome at making topicss. i mean, what? Harriet
But at the Hartford show, some creep near me pulled my tank top sleeve down so like the entire half of my chest and some of my waist was out, and I didn't notice til my brother told me, and when I did I saw Tre looking at me in my shame and I was all OH GOD IM NOT THAT KIND OF FAN SFKSJDKLSJDL This happened to me at Sheffield...I was stood 6ish rows from the barrier in front of Mike. I looked down and my top was completely down on one side so he may or may not have seen my bra. But I don't like to think about that
mallorymaloney
Oh God, me too. All three shows I went to this summer I kept having awkward glances with Davey. And you're right, his stares are crazy intense. I used to be a pretty big AFI fan, so I knew the words to several of AFI's songs. And not a whole lot of people around me were into them at all, so I was one of the only people who were enthusiastic to see AFI. It was especially bad at the Holmdel show. There wasn't a pit so I was standing in my row of seats all by myself, singing along while everyone else was sitting in their seats looking bored. He kept coming over to my side and singing sort of at me, and during the songs I didn't know, he still came over to my side and I was thinking "uhh, sorry I'm a shitty fan, Davey ". Awkward to the max. Shit, that must've been why he stared at me for so long, then --- AFI's one of my favourite bands, so I knew quite a few of the words, unlike most everyone else in the pit, heh. Oh, well, it was still awesome. I just wish I hadn't looked away first, that was pretty lame of me. Alright, you shared a Davey moment so now I don't feel bad about posting mine. After the Dallas show, a bunch of us were waiting by the buses. Davey ended up skateboarding and goofing around that night and then came out and walked towards his bus. Needless to say, he was swarmed by fans. He was so cool about signing autographs and everything. I waited for a bit until the crowd had lightened up some and then went over to get an autograph. After he signed my thank you sign, I looked him in the eyes and said, "Thank you Davey" he stared me in the eyes for a bit then said, "You are most certainly welcome!" Gonna cherish that moment forever. OMFG, Davey's all about sincere fan interaction, it seems! One of my good friends in England met him, ((AFI to her is what Green Day is to us,)) And she said something really heartfelt and soulbaring, I think it was like, 'You've no idea how much you've given me, I love you' or something along the same lines, and he reached over, held her hand, gazed into her eyes for awhile, and then replied with the perfect, 'You're welcome ... And I love you, too.'
Kayfabe
When I was getting pulled out of the mosh I lost my shoe, so as I was getting it back I pulled it out and kind of waved it in the sky as i was getting it out. That was when Billie looked down for a split second like "...did that girl just wave her shoe at me?' IMMD

Anita_GD
Anytime I ever got eye contact with the guys while I was singing along to whatever song they were playing I'd end up pointing at them and then screaming the wordsat them! I'm sure I'm not the only one who does this?? I got a big smile from Billie in France doing that, and a wink from Mike in Dublin Oh and Jason White kinda pointed his guitar at me (as if to kinda salute me) at the Homcoming show when I got eye contact! Seriously though dont EVER look away just do what I do or make a funny face. I'm sure Tre would reciprocate that with an even funnier one :eyebrow:
