And that's from a reliable source. oh, that's good to hear. I have to admit I was a teeny bit worried that something was wrong with proper Blue. I miss it's well-scratched charm.

Real blue is just fine and is not retired. 3. the only blue Billie used on american idiot and 21cbd tours is "real" blue. 4. Billie doesnt have any "warning" era copies anymore, they were all smashed or given away. 5. Blue is not that old compared to his Gibsons, the three jr's he plays on stage every night are from 1956. "blacky"," whitey" and "Cornel Mustard"

shit Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Looks like Billie ended up hating the new blue That video explains the dent/missing chunk of wood on the tip of the headstock. But original Blue wasn't looking too good lately. The pickguard was breaking around the humbucker for awhile, and he even had these little inserts put in to stabilize the pickup. Then in the past, I know the neck's been refretted a few times and somebody said they weren't sure how many more times they could refret it. Then he replaced the JB humbucker with that zebra one, so maybe original Blue was just falling apart everywhere. So he could easily replace the pickguard, the neck, and all the guts if he had to but maybe he just wanted to keep 'original' Blue intact. Maybe this is just a temporary solution, like Blue #2 was. I'm too lazy to delete parts of what I typed before, but I realize stuff that I said was already covered so you can ignore it.
