Bastard of 1967 Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Besides, are you buying the DVD for Green Day or the audience? Oh dear GOD thank you for posting that.
greendaytone Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Stop complaining and just go watch some of their performances from Japan. There may not be any 'walls of death' happening, but they aren't just standing there being all polite either. Besides, are you buying the DVD for Green Day or the audience? Oh dear GOD thank you for posting that. My thoughts exactly, great shout!
Hermione Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 I've watched loads of Green Day concerts from loads of places including Japan. From what I've seen, there's a lot of places I'd choose to watch a concert from before Japan. BUT just because it wouldn't be my first choice doesn't mean it isn't still very enjoyable. As for whether it's for Green Day or the audience, it's both. The band feed off the energy of the audience and visa versa, both are important elements of the show. By all accounts this was a great show though and I'm sure it's gonna be great to watch even if it wasn't THE best show of the tour...........I mean seriously I haven't come across a Green Day concert that wasn't enjoyable to watch yet. Have to wait and see just how great on March 15th!
Tubbie Head Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 I don't care about the audience, I'm not buying a DVD to see the audience, I'm buying it to see the band, and the band is always awesome live, the only thing that differs are the set-lists and to be fair, the Japan sets were not bad at all! Comparing to a lot other concerts.. I'm really happy that they played Viva La Gloria there, just the thought of it being on the DVD makes me enthusiastic! And I'm also hoping for the oldies they played there =) But I'm thinking that the rare stuff, if there will be any "rare" stuff, it will only be on the CD... Oh well, we'll see! I'm totally excited guys!! And look, we don't have to wait much! BRING IT ON
Job Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 I'm excited for sure. All I ask is that they don't truncate the set like they did with Bullet in a Bible; I'm hoping for at least 18 songs to make it on the DVD.
Katarina. Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 I'm buying Awesome as Fuck for sure, really excited about this! Come on. It's Green Day, it's live footage. Not just audio, but video as well. The DVD will include the shows in Japan, fine by me. It's still Green Day performing an awesome show. Whatever will be included on the CD, it's Green Day. Of course I hope they'll include oldies and rare songs, but no matter what they'll choose, I know I'll love it. March 15 is only two months away. If time really passes by like lightning now, before you know it.. you're listening/watching something awesome.. as fuck.
Metanoia Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 I just saw BIAB in 2005 was released 4 days before it got released in the US so me has hopes for Awesome as Fuck.
Stormy Haze Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 http://www.abload.de/img/blub5m6v.jpg Oh my God Besides, are you buying the DVD for Green Day or the audience? Amen!
Holly Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 My parents just got so excited and ran up to my bedroom to tell me about this being released when they saw it on their homepage (www.orange.co.uk) because they thought I didn't know about it and that they'd actually be able to give me information about Green Day. I was like, sorry.. you're a bit late. But thanks all the same!

I was like, sorry.. you're a bit late. But thanks all the same! LOL! I love when that happens! It usually happened to me, but at shcool with my class mates/friends, last year... Like "Sofia, I've got awesome news for you! You might have to sit down or something" I sit "GREEN DAY ARE COMING TO PORTUGAL IN SEPTEMBER".. And I'm like "Seriously? , uh I already have bought the ticket!" XD
jtdscape Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Not sure if this has been posted yet, but MTV has a short article on Awesome as Fuck. Nothing we don't already know though - http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1655184/20110103/green_day.jhtml
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Awesome as F--- just at least leave the k in, please.
jtdscape Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Has everyone seen the new splash page on GD.com? http://www.greenday.com/awesomesplash/index.html
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Oooh cool, I hadn't seen that! Still no exact release date, though (Amazon can say March 15 all they want, but it's not confirmed yet, and Amazon can edit what their page says) I also think the word awesomesplash is pretty cool
lizziebix Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Has everyone seen the new splash page on GD.com? http://www.greenday.com/awesomesplash/index.html Thanks for posting it Jimmy!
The Snark Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Awesome as F--- just at least leave the k in, please. Awesome as what?! Flapjacks? Fandango? Flouncing? Jeez, just put sticker over the word. I've bought cds like that before... The band feed off the energy of the audience and visa versa True. Although I have a feeling they'd put on just as great a show for a bunch of mannequins. Although the 'heeeeeeeeeeeeey ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhs' might be a little lacking...

Agreed. That MTV just censors it a little bit more even though the probably official title is already censored (with all the banners saying F**k it's pretty much sure that's what the album's going to be called, unfortunately) is even more annoying.
Laura! Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Oooh, I like that splash page! Maybe we'll learn more news about it soon!
luvgirlcl Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Has everyone seen the new splash page on GD.com? http://www.greenday.com/awesomesplash/index.html So for the holidays we got the first glimpse of the Bunny, and for the new year even more new stuff (even if it's just the splash page)...can I bet that in a couple of weeks we'll have the track-list?
Vaso.Of.Suburbia Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 The only thing that's missing is the setlist and a trailer. We have the artwork (well not the cover but at least the artwork), the title and the place where the DVD was recorded. I watched some footage from the shows in Saitama Arena yesterday, and I have to admit that they had a pretty cool setlist, Billie Joe had black hair and was wearing a tie, the crowd was energetic and only a few people were taking videos or pictures (which means that there will be only a few iPhone screens "destroying" the beautiful, dark atmosphere during songs like BOBD, 21 Guns and Good Riddance). I'm super excited... And March 15 is two month ago!
Ellenkc Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 According to Kerrang the UK gets it a day earlier, hopefully that includes Ireland too
Katarina. Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Has everyone seen the new splash page on GD.com? http://www.greenday.com/awesomesplash/index.html Thanks for posting, Jimmy, I hadn't seen it before! I like what I see, definitely. Nothing new, but I guess we'll hear more about this soon. Like the actual album/cover art, tracklist and all that.
Zelda Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I can't wait for the album, but I'm already tired of people overusing "Awesome as fuck". :/
