Maddy. Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 Well, I respect your opinion but also respectfully disagree with it. It's Green Day playing in front of a crowd that loves them just as much as the rest of us do, how bad can it be? hm idk. i feel no connection to tokyo. it's not like oh i could have been there. with biab it's in england so it's fairly close to home and it's familiar and asjkdlfkjasjkf (which is a legit adjective) and even if it was in america then it's like cool. i don't really know but it's because really few gdcers went to tokyo so it's not like you could look for someone in the crowd. there'd be no familiarity with it. idk man idk i'm not feeling it.

Malleus Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 Really? Really? This is my "I can't believe you're arguing over something so fucking stupid" face:
November's Storms Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 umm i'm sorry you're not wet? You just seem extremely pessimistic about the fact that AaF will be from Tokyo. I get what you mean about it not being really relatable with the crowd n all, but at the end of the day its Green Day performing a live show. The crowd will all by GD fans who know the songs and are thrilled to see them live. After seeing pics of the venue it looks like a great place to put on a show. So whether its from Tokyo or Milton Keynes or someones garden shed I can't wait to see it
Bastard of 1967 Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 it's not like you could look for someone in the crowd. there'd be no familiarity with it. idk man idk i'm not feeling it. Ummmmmm....IDK. I've never been to Milton Keyes and didn't know any of the handful of fans who were interviewed there (at least not 'til I joined GDC and became aquainted with Tony) and that didn't affect my enjoyment of the show in the slightest. In a 2-hour DVD I think there might be 5-10 minutes of crowd time anyway, and I'm not buying the DVD to see anyone particular in the crowd, I'm buying it to see the band play at least the core setlist so I have something tangible to remember my own local shows by. I guess if you don't feel it, you don't feel it, but I think you're taking this a bit too seriously.

November's Storms Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 going to hide on tumblr now, sorry for having an opinion. Its great that you have an opinion, thats what makes some of these threads really interesting. But it sucks if you can't expect others to disagree with you

Maddy. Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 Ok now *that* was funny. Hahah well it's what usually happens when I voice my opinion in GD chat
Malleus Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 Maddy (and I don't really know you, I suppose everyone else), not liking the DVD because of the crowd location being Tokyo, just saying, is one of the most childish and stupidest things I've ever heard in my life. If there are other reasons, so be it, but if they're connected to it being Tokyo and not being able to go there/see any people you know at all, it's just silly and makes you look like a spoiled brat. I imagine once you like a band, you go out and buy tickets to 400 of their shows and complain when somebody talks too loud and fuss for it the rest of the night. I've never seen any band that I like, and they've never even came close. If I even got the slightest chance to see Green Day or any other band I'm fond of, I wouldn't even dare to find the time to complain. Same about the DVD. They're doing this because they like making music, and they liked the Tokyo show so it is what goes on the DVD apparently. That's it. They appreciate their fans, but it's just an option for us to like it or not, they're not gonna slow down or stop because certain people don't like certain aspects of their shows. You can have an opinion, but when your opinion is reflecting that of a selfish spoiled brat's, obviously it's going to come into question.
greendaytone Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 The venue holds 18,000 for gigs, according to my friend i met there. The Japanese fans are as good as any i've experienced on tour. Alright, they're not as boisterous as some of the SA crowds, but they love Green Day as much as anywhere else.

It really doesn't make sense to not like a DVD just becasue of a crowd.
Maddy. Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 wow you guys are all taking what i said wayyyyyy too seriously
deadair Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 I really hope we get a live version of "The Static Age" on the CD. It is so much better live than in the studio. Sax solo blows the guitar solo out of the water! But at the same time, I hope for so many things. Anyways, as long as the tracklisting is cooler than Bullet In A Bible I'll be happy!
euphoric-pareidolias Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 i know some people are giving out that the DVD will be only Tokyo etc etc etc...but Im just glad theres gonna be a live DVD and its Green Day so yay we all have song preferences but the best way to avoid disappointment is to have no expectations and then be surprised
Job Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 Hey everyone. I've been lurking this thread, but I must say, I had qualms with Tokyo at first as well. As an Asian myself, I know that people of my race can be kinda reserved by nature, which naturally would lead to misgivings about an Asian concert DVD. But really, I don't have any problems. Knowing Green Day, it'll be a well-produced DVD, fans go crazy anyways, and these shows occurred midway through the 21CB tour, so the fans would be more familiar with the material than during the "Last Night on Earth" live EP. It'll be sweet, no worries!

Maddy. Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 i know it won't change anything i just like complaining
deadair Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 i know it won't change anything i just like complaining yeah me too and I'm just very opinionated about my preferences, lol
