November's Storms Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 do you mean double-layered? I've never heard of a double sided DVD. First time I realized it was when I put the DVD in the wrong way, and it started in the middle of the movie. Weirdest beginning I've ever seen good explaining Good explaining Bill Schneider!
pasalaska Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 Good explaining Bill Schneider! I use 'good explaining' way too much in everyday conversation, but only the GD fans get it
Stormy Haze Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 I wonder when they'll release the CD and DVD over here... I hope they don't take too long
AndrewW91 Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 I wonder if the DVD will get a BluRay release, like BIAB... Hmm. Lets hope. That'd be ho as hell.
jtdscape Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 I wonder if the DVD will get a BluRay release, like BIAB... Hmm. Lets hope. That'd be ho as hell. I am sure that it will
jtdscape Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 so is it like a cd and a dvd together or Yeah thats my understanding of it. Just like Bullet in a Bible had a CD and DVD in one package.
pasalaska Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 so is it like a cd and a dvd together or it's one DVD with the Tokyo show, and a CD with audio from various 21CB shows nevermind I'm late
Maddy. Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 what the fuck no one even went to tokyo that is so lame i'd rather have dvd from various locations in europe and NA and then the audio cd of that what the fuck tokyo
pasalaska Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 what the fuck no one even went to tokyo that is so lame i'd rather have dvd from various locations in europe and NA and then the audio cd of that what the fuck tokyo Lots of people went to Tokyo
Bastard of 1967 Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 what the fuck no one even went to tokyo that is so lame i'd rather have dvd from various locations in europe and NA and then the audio cd of that what the fuck tokyo Several posts earlier in this thread by Tre's Busted Drumkit explain the reasoning behind this thoroughly. To make a long story short: it's EXPENSIVE to haul HD video gear and crews around with you to multiple venues, and everywhere you're shooting for a concert DVD you have to make major adjustments to lighting, staging, arrangements, etc. So you do it *once*, maybe twice, to get a pair of takes for each song and you take the best you have. Tokyo fans are even more hyped up when big-name U.S.A. acts go over there than the comparatively more reserved American home crowd is, so you have a good fanbase there (I take issue with your statement that "no one even went to Tokyo"), and very importantly: if anything goes wrong with your A/V gear while you're on the road, easy repairs/replacements can be found in Japan where all the sh*t's made anyway and is readily available on the street. In contrast, you haul a crew out to Holmdel or Camden and one of your main cameras goes out on you there, then you're royally screwed and you're paying a crew to sit around idle 'til another unit can be shipped in...probably from Japan. By comparison, it's a lot easier and less costly to split your audio feeds to a separate mixer and digital deck. Nothing in the staging has to change to support this and you've already got your audio engineering crew on the road with you.
Maddy. Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 i'm sorry michael but i know all of that makes perfect logical sense. i just can't get excited about tokyo. it's just ... not the same idk man idk.

November's Storms Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 I am SO going to Japan next tour. I've started saving already, and will be going to as many places as I can. After Marlay a few of us decided that on the next tour the Irish would be the new Aussies, and that Billie will get sick of pulling us on stage. Its fun to dream!

Well, I respect your opinion but also respectfully disagree with it. It's Green Day playing in front of a crowd that loves them just as much as the rest of us do, how bad can it be?
