Dai. Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 More importantly, people on Tumblr don't matter. HEY, some of us aren't bad
JullyToledo Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 just three words to describe the moment...: Awesome As Fuck
justcause Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 That title is the best fucking thing EVER - they better fucking keep it!! As lots of people have said, it's such a great mark of the unity of Green Day with the community of people who love them, and hey, you guys who came up with those signs gotta be feeling like the coolest people on the planet, cause you are!! It sounds like it's gonna be a great fucking package, and I'm excited for it.
luvgirlcl Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 More importantly, people on Tumblr don't matter. What is Tumblr, anyways? (no, I'm not being sarcastic. And whoever invented it doesn't know how to write/spell, apparently.)
Martyn Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 FUCK YEAH!! They're never gonna sell it at Wal-Mart! Fuck is too vulgar. hahaha I think it would kinda sucks if the DVD is a Tokyo gig; they already recorded the Live CD "Last Night on Earth" at a Tokyo gig right.. They don't sell CDs with Parental Advisory stickers in Walmart unless there's a clean version. Hence 21CB and American Idiot not being available there.
koolkev Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Yeah.... What if they put some foxboro stuff on?( HIGHLY unlikely)
lizziebix Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 I showed the Amazon page to hubby. He asked if it would be new music and when I explained he said, "oh." (very negatively sounding.) Doesn't he know how exciting this is - new music or not???!!!! Obviously I've become the bigger fan in this household!!
Samantha Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 I actually don't know whether to laugh or cry I think I cried while I was laughing... But anywho I'm fucking pumped Its gonna be... awesome as fuck ?
Burnout98 Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Yay March 15th is my dads birthday. He's happy
BombingwithBillieJoe Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 They don't sell CDs with Parental Advisory stickers in Walmart unless there's a clean version. Hence 21CB and American Idiot not being available there. I meant to ask this a long time ago but forgot, did that happen at all WalMarts, or just in the U.S.? Because my WalMart has always sold both AI and 21CB. I think that the title is really cool because of the connection it has to the fans, but I also think a lot of people will be like "umm... ok?". I mean, majority of fans I would have to say are not on GDC, and so they most likely would not understand the implications of the title. Just thinking of a couple GD fans I know, who I know would buy the DVD, but would have no idea why it's called what it is. I think unless there's some sort of explanation or something that comes on/with the DVD... a lot of people won't get it. Also, for younger fans that might be a problem. I know my parents would never ever let me buy/download/listen to anything with 'fuck' in the title (or lyrics). Naturally I will buy it and just hide it from them for a couple months until I turn 18, like I've hidden everything else that has any swearing, haha. But other younger fans in similar situations may not be able to get it at all. Which I think kind of sucks. Overall I think the title is cool, but it comes with it's downsides . Either way though, I'm so excited for March 15! I was picturing a May-June release, so this is awesome!
JordayC13 Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 This is going to be awesome. The only thing is the whole Tokyo thing, cause on the last night on earth E.P. the crowd didn't sound that into it, except for the legends that or on this forum I'm sure i'll be proved wrong, cant wait for it.
captain peroxide Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 So the DVD only being from Tokyo is confirmed, then? I'm kinda hoping that that ends up not being the case.
Fuzz Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 So the DVD only being from Tokyo is confirmed, then? I'm kinda hoping that that ends up not being the case. I didn't get confirmation on that, but i'm pretty sure that's what's going on. A few different sources had the same story.
captain peroxide Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Ablah Oh well. It'll still be amazing. I just do not understand the Tokyo decision whatsoever.
GDM Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Its a reference to the fans holding up signs at some of the live shows of the 21stCB tour http://greendaymind.wordpress.com/2010/09/19/a-short-history-awesome-as-fuck-signs-green-day-concerts/ aw. thank you very much for sharing that. makes me really happy that something i wrote helps with the mystery behind the phrase, lol.
farley drexel hatcher Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 I kind of do get the idea to have filmed the show in Japan. I mean, we assumed they'd not filmed any because we hadn't seen any cameras. It was an easy way of them doing it without everyone knowing it'd be happening. No one ever reported seeing cameras at those shows as far as I remember. There isn't many people from the boards who even went to those shows. It would have been nice to have seen some other footage, though, but it'll still be great to have something, at least.
Fuzz Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Ablah Oh well. It'll still be amazing. I just do not understand the Tokyo decision whatsoever. Maybe for continuity? Might be a better DVD if there weren't cuts from too many shows. Or, maybe the Tokyo crowd and shows were the ones the band felt best about. Or maybe they know they'll sell a shit-ton in Asia by doing that. I don't know.
Sanity Loan Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Alex, I think it should have been the Denver show

I know for a fact that Argentina and Denver were both better shows, and we know Argentina was recorded. There's no way Tokyo crowds are better than the South American audiences either. It just doesn't make sense Alex, I think it should have been the Denver show Definitely.
Sanity Loan Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Definitely. That would have for sure made it "awesome as fuck"
karma1215 Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Awesome tribute to us Green Day fans and maybe a big f- you to huge ass corporations like Walmart.
TheSaltOfTheEarth Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 I meant to ask this a long time ago but forgot, did that happen at all WalMarts, or just in the U.S.? I had a hard enough time convincing her to let me buy 21stCB. Because of the COVER. And my dad got mad at my GD shirt because it had skulls on it.*facepalm* Oh well. They should still keep the name, I'll find some way around it.
Nickofsuburbia Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 if they call it Awesome as Fuck they have to have some Denver stuff Denver was probably the best show on the entire tour and theyre neglecting so many great things that happened on tour its kind of a letdown really still at the thought of another high-quality live performance is cool i just hope they have some backstage stuff in bonus features or something because those always make the best quotes
