captain peroxide Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 I think the name is great. They were much less grandiose on this tour than they were on American Idiot. It was much more about the fans and about fun, and the title reflects that.
farley drexel hatcher Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 yea really the title is a funny fan-inspired inside joke but they need something resounding like "Bullet in a Bible" i know that this isnt as politically charged or anti-war passionate of a record (21CB that is) but they need something more than an inside joke like seriously Bowling Bowling Parking Parking Parking was a better title (and also in Japan) Nah, I prefer the fun title to it having something serious. It shows they're still into having fun with it and not taking it everything so seriously.
captain peroxide Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 I think the thing with SA crowds is that we get good shows (and cool concerts in general) so far in between, that we just go nuts during the shows. Specially this time with Green Day, cause it had been 12 years since the last time they came here. yeeeeeeah, taking proud in being part of the cool SA crowd . Not to disrespect the rest of you guys, though No, you guys are seriously incredible. It's part of the reason I want to see concerts when I go visit Dai, cause South American audiences are fucking insane.
Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Nah, I prefer the fun title to it having something serious. Exactly, fuck all this making a statement, political agenda shit, at the end of the day it's a big over the top fun rock concert and tbh 21st Century Breakdown is an awful name for an album whereas Kerplunk, Dookie and Nimrod are very good ones and this is a return to immature form!
November's Storms Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 now left the teaser trailer Never even thought of that. Yes! And yeah Billie seemed to love the SA fans, nice one guys
Nickofsuburbia Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Exactly, fuck all this making a statement, political agenda shit, at the end of the day it's a big over the top fun rock concert and tbh 21st Century Breakdown is an awful name for an album whereas Kerplunk, Dookie and Nimrod are very good ones and this is a return to immature form! i agree but i think Awesome as Fuck is little over the top yknow theyll have to censor it in stores and stuff so itll cause more problems than its worth imo
Sanity Loan Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 I love how earlier this morning, before I posted the news, it was listed on Amazon as like the 12,000th most popular in music... now its up to 3,000 /random
luvgirlcl Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 No, you guys are seriously incredible. It's part of the reason I want to see concerts when I go visit Dai, cause South American audiences are fucking insane. Aww, it feels nice when the rest of the world remembers we're here and that we're good at something Although, someone needs to remind the band of this before their next tour so they come back. This reminds me of how funny it was during my show (yes, taking ownership ), cause everytime Billie would say something, I'm betting that only 30-40% of the audience understood (for the rest the audio wasn't clear enough, everyone else was screaming, and a lot of people who didn't understand english very much), but still they would answer with a huge scream and go fucking crazy. Billie could've said 'you all suck' and everyone would've gone 'WOOOOO!
Sanity Loan Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 i agree but i think Awesome as Fuck is little over the top yknow theyll have to censor it in stores and stuff so itll cause more problems than its worth imo Seriously, who cares?
Guest Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 i agree but i think Awesome as Fuck is little over the top yknow theyll have to censor it in stores and stuff so itll cause more problems than its worth imo yea i think walmart will not sell it aeiuhaeiuo but is a great title, and much better for a studio album
Nickofsuburbia Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Seriously, who cares? i personally dont care but im saying for sales and stuff its a hilarious title to those who know about it but other than that....
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 i agree but i think Awesome as Fuck is little over the top yknow theyll have to censor it in stores and stuff so itll cause more problems than its worth imo The moment everyone including bands like Green Day starts conforming to those uptight stores with their censorship bullshit, we're lost.
OliDayyy Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 I think the guys really don't care about the sales... look how they dealt with Walmart...
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 i personally dont care but im saying for sales and stuff its a hilarious title to those who know about it but other than that.... It's not like they've exactly tried hard to boost sales for anything from this era, really
luvgirlcl Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 i agree but i think Awesome as Fuck is little over the top yknow theyll have to censor it in stores and stuff so itll cause more problems than its worth imo Heh, that got me thinking, if they promote it and happen to go to a talk show or something (like Jimmy Fallon), the host would go 'So, here's Green Day, with their new live album titled 'Awesome as.......uh...' The marketing people at the label are going to have the biggest headache ever with this thing
Guest Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 I think the guys really don't care about the sales... look how they dealt with Walmart... My comment was about this episode eaihaeuioea walmart is the enemy
Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 I like things that are basically pointless that are used to be deliberately provocative, like album titles with "naughty words" or album art like Kanye's album cover. You could use anything in the world for your album title and art work but putting in something that's not really that controversial, but will offend anyone worth offending just for the hell of it is mildly amusing, offends nobody with any degree of humour whatsoever, and is so much better than using some random line from the latest album. If it gives someone in marketing a headache? Great. By the way, if anyone here is in marketing or advertising...kill yourself. Thank you. Just planting seeds, planting seeds is all I'm doing. No joke here, really. Seriously, kill yourself, you have no rationalisation for what you do, you are Satan's little helpers. Kill yourself, kill yourself, kill yourself now. Now, back to the show. Seriously, I know the marketing people: 'There's gonna be a joke comin' up.' There's no fuckin' joke. Suck a tail pipe, hang yourself...borrow a pistol from an NRA buddy, do something...rid the world of your evil fuckin' presence.
Nickofsuburbia Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Heh, that got me thinking, if they promote it and happen to go to a talk show or something (like Jimmy Fallon), the host would go 'So, here's Green Day, with their new live album titled 'Awesome as.......uh...' The marketing people at the label are going to have the biggest headache ever with this thing haha thank you! thats what ive been trying to say u can be funny and immature but some stuff just doesnt fly with people remember Liquid Dookie? had to change that didnt they
farley drexel hatcher Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 It might actually be some of the best marketing they've done in years. If you think about it.
P3AC3MAK3R Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Awsome As F. Hell Yeh LIVE DVD! BIAB IS amazing, by far my favourite DVD in the world
Nickofsuburbia Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 maybe ur right controversy sells look at American Idiot
Katarina. Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 maybe ur right controversy sells look at American Idiot Well at least their recent record wasn't called something like 21st Century FuckShittown. But yeah, when people on tv would be talking about it they'd be like "With their recent live album called "Awesome as.." "well.." "Here's Green Day!"" I really hope it gets confirmed it's the correct title.
TheSaltOfTheEarth Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 If they actually go through with calling it Awesome as Fuck, I will love them forever. I love that title, because it's just like this big inside joke between the band and the fans. It really shows Green Day's relationship with their fans, y'know? And it really reflects the whole 21st Century Breakdown tour - just one big, fun, intimate party, really. A title like 'Bullet In A Bible' was really great for the American Idiot tour, which was big and loud and dramatic, but not this one. And who really gives a shit about Wal Mart and everyone else? Whoever wants to buy it will buy it, regardless of what it's called and if Wal Mart sells it or not.
November's Storms Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 It's not like they've exactly tried hard to boost sales for anything from this era, really Exactly! They tried hard on their live shows, thats all that fuckin matters!
